Which building has a nicer view, and which one would you request # 62 or #64 and do they have studios ? Thanks :sunny:

I don't care for either 62 or 64. Building 64 has no parking lot, and building 63 is a bit too close to the entrance road, but it DOES have a great view from the balconys there. My favorite balcony views are from any of the buildings along Miller's Road, any of the buildings along the canal (45, 46, 55, 56), and buildings 12 and 13. If you want a view, the least likely to get on at is building 29, since it is hemmed in with vegetation. That being said, there really are not any horrible views from the huge OKW balconies. I assume you are asking about the 1,2, and 3 bedroom ones. If you are asking about studios, none of them will have much of a view, because they are on the ends of the buildings, and most will have lots of vegetation around them to cut down on noise from the roadways.

Yes, they have studios. I think 62 is the better of these two bldgs because, as Diane pointed out, there is no parking lot in 64. I'm assuming you want an elevator bldg and this is why you have narrowed it down to these two ?
We stayed in a 1 bedroom villa in 62 in 2004. This was our view :

In addition to the bldgs Diane mentioned, we also liked bldg 43 in Turtle Pond area. Great water view. However, if you will be staying in a studio, keep in mind the ground floor units may have limited views due to thick brush/vegetation growth.

I was wondering about these buildings because their newer. Having an elevator isn't a big deal. We would just like a nice water/ golf course view close to the main pool for the little ones. :) Can you help me out? :confused3 We're staying there next month for the first time, can't wait  Thanks for all of your help...

We'll be there in March also! Your request should have been made at the time of the reservation. Here is the map with building numbers. Buildings 62 and 64 will both have water/golf course views, but remember that if you are in a studio, that might not be true, and if you are in a studio in building 62 and happen to be on the end of the building closes to HH (all studios are on the ends of the buildings), it could be noisy from the buses come and going into the resort. I really like building 13. It is right across the street from HH, and when we were there last year, our unit was in impeccable condition. We were in a 2 bedroom on the 1st floor.

Our first ever DVC villa was on the 3rd floor of building 13, and I'll always have a soft spot for it. My then 3YO granddaughter and I whiled away an afternoon watching golfers hit their drives into the water, or shank them onto some of the first floor balconies. Good times!

We'll be there 3/22 - 3/26 then move to BCV for remainder of trip. But my hubby will DROOL :rotfl: over the golf course and want to golf, he loves it! Me on the other hand B-O-R-I-N-G :rolleyes1 (He hates shopping and I don't, so it's a fair trade LOL!) Anyway I'd LOVE for him to play a round of golf, with a partner if someone else's husband is a golfer too.I don't mind laying by the pool (okay, twist my arm) with the kids while he enjoys this.Any golfers without a partner interested???

Sorry, we're going 4/30-5/5, but DH will be golfing every day. If you're staying at OKW, your DH really should golf at LBV and bring a camera. It's so much fun to get your picture taken from the golf course with your villa in the backround. He can sign up as a single, and they'll put him with other golfers. That's what DH always does, and he always comes back with interesting stories about the people he meets.

Looing at the map what does the HA stand for in the red buildings? Also do the smoking buildings have any non smoking rooms. We have a res for a non smoking studio in June. Also some of you like buildings #55 and 56 how long will it take to walk to the main pool and hospitality house?

HA means those buildings have handicapped accessible villas in them. Smoking buildings are smoking buildings and non-smoking buildings are all non-smoking. If you are in building 55 or 56, there is a pool right between those two buildings, but if you want to go to the main pool, it will take less than 10 minutes to walk (we can actually make it in about 7 minutes, and we're old!). YOu can also catch ANY bus that is stopping at the bus stop, and it will take you to HH, since that is the last stop before the bus leaves the resort.

Diane,
Do you know how the busses work when you want to get back to your building? I wasn't sure if the busses stopped at HH first or last before leaving the resort. If they stop last, how do you get back to your building?
Thanks!

Well, if it was me, I'd walk. If you want to ride, just walk across the bridge (just across the street from the pool) and catch any bus at the Peninsular road bus stop. It's next stop is South Point, which is right across the street from building 56.

When we stayed in bldg 62, we got off at Penninsular Road bus stop and walked across the bridge (maybe 60 seconds walk) to our villa instead of waiting for the bus to ride throughout the resort and stop last at HH on it's way back out. Our experience has been that the bus stops at HH last upon return to OKW from the parks. We actually got off at Penninsular Rd last summer when we stayed in bldg 45 too----felt it was quicker than waiting for it to get to the Southpoint stop.

I agree, Maria. Whenever we stay near the front of the resort, we usually get off at Penninsular road and walk back rather than wait for the bus to make the whole circuit. That is unless it's late at night, and we are tired!

I never got back to this thread before we arrived at OKW last week. We actually took the boat back from DTD and landed at the HH. We took care of what we were doing there and I asked the best way to get back to Turtle Pond. They told me to take the internal bus. Since I am 6 months pregnant and it was 8:00 at night, I was totally unable to walk.

Well, let me tell you.....the internal bus is a joke! There is no internal bus. It is actually the DTD bus that runs around the resort in a different order than the park busses and then leaves for DTD. We waited over 30 minutes for the bus that we thought was internal only. If only I had thought to walk over to Pennisular Road and get on ANY of the other busses. We waited 15 minutes before this occured to me, but we kept waiting because we figured as soon as we started walking the "internal" bus would show up.

Oh well, live and learn! In April, I will be sure to walk to Pennisular Road or just drive the car to the HH! :sunny:

So sorry you waited so long for the internal. We never do that.....we always do as you mentioned and cross the street to the Penninsular road bus stop and hop on any bus that comes by----it's very quick & easy that way. Hope you had a nice stay otherwise-----have fun on your April trip too ! Lucky you, getting to go twice in such a short period :thumbsup2

Stayed in Building 14 3 times now, Love it there.
