We are staying at OKW checking in on Sunday, traveling with an infant. Is there any special location I should request since we will have so much stuff? Are any locations better then others? Also, where is the soda place to refill your cups?

There are two "guaranteed" booking categories at OKW. They take the same number of points. Near Hospitality House (main check-in area) category includes bldgs 11 to 14 and 23 to 26. And then the other category includes the rest of OKW.

The self serve mug refill station is at Goods to Go, the snack bar located near the main pool. You can also have them refilled at the Turtle Shck, but it is not self service. Turtle Shack is a seasonal, limited hours snack bar near the Turtle Pond pool.

There are 4 pools located thoughout OKW, each with sandy childrens play area and hot tubs. There is a small sauna located in the base of the lighthouse near the main pool.

If you will be using Disney transportation, there are 5 bus stops located throughout OKW. They are,in the order of service, Peninsular Road, South Point, Old Turtle Pond Road, Miller's Road and Cove Road (Hospitality House).

Remember that only 3 buildings, 62, 63 and 64 have elevators, and they are often used for people with mobility issues, so you may want to try for a first floor villa.

As far as actual "best location" it is all subject to personal preferences. I like the Turtle Pond area, as well as bldgs 45, 45 and 53 to 56.

Here is an OKW resort map.

Ok, I requested a ground floor near a bus stop. Hospitality House was booked for the first night. I will ask when we check in.

We have stayed in Bldg 45 before and loved it. We had a water view and could see the boats going past to DTD and the like, we were only a short walk from a bus stop and HH was only about a 5 minute stroll away.

The only other thing to know: if you are in a 1BR or 2BR, there is no door between the living area and master bath in buildings 29 and lower. In buildings 30 and higher, there is such a door.

We stayed in Building 24 when we were there in August. We really liked that location because it was close to a bus stop and within walking distance to the Hospitality House. We backed up to the golf course so it was very quiet.

That is correct. In 1br and 2br units in bldgs 29 and lower, the entrance to the master bath is through the master bedroom. In bldgs 30 and higher, there in an addition bathroom entrance through the laundry room.

If you are in a studio, all studios are pretty much identical, except for the HA units with roll in showers and lower beds. There is no bath tub in studio handicap units.

Don't want to hijack the thread but I am going to ask anyway... We are renting points for two units (studio, 2br) at OKW in January. When the reservation was made six months ago Hospitality House was not available. We won't have a car and would still like to be as close to the main buildings as possible. Can I call and have the member add this request to our reservation? (knowing of course that it's not guaranteed) Is there any point in doing this? I know they are not going to put us in the HH rooms if we don't have that reserved, but would that help us get in the next nearest set of buildings?

It certainly wouldn't hurt to have a "near Hospitality House" request added, as they often pre-block multiple rooms reservations so that the rooms are close to each other. But it is still just a request, so you still may wind up a bit away.

Remember that you can hop on any bus to take you to hospitality if you don't feel like walking. It is the last stop on the route. To return to an outlying villa, there is an "internal" bus that stops at Hospitality first and last, but also is part of the Typhoon Lagoon-DtD route, so it can take a while.
But it is also pretty easy to walk across the bridge to the Peninsular Road stop and hop on any bus to return, as Peninsular Rd is the first stop on the route.
