OKW 2br room request

What’s your recommended room request for a 2BR at OKW with 4 kids (all out of strollers)? And what are chances of getting a refurbished room? Thanks.

If you want a refurbished room then request a refurbished room from member services after you make the reservation. There are no guarantees. They cannot promise you that you will get it. But if you requested you greatly increase your chance of getting it, since someone will try to match it up if possible.

Agreed - I just saw online that none of the "near hospitality house" room category have yet been refurbished. Is there anywhere that has a % completion of the regular category?

Most of the villas that are completed are in Turtle Pond or South Point.

Has nothing to do with refurbishment, but I've always enjoyed our stays in the Turtle Pond area.

We just returned from OKW. These are the renovated buildings (we were in building 34 on Turtle Pond last week and that area is nearly done): 30-35, 45-48, 53-56. They are working on buildings 41-44 now. The Turtle Pond pool has re-opened.

If they didn't do the entire building, then it might just be a model room that they did to decide on what to do. I haven't heard about Bldg 11 being closed off.

Ok that makes sense but u would think they would follow the same renovations already done

Building 11 was used as a test for the possible new designs. We did a tour of the mock up in Sept 2016. They did NOT use that design for the current refurb.

But oddly, only some buildings in the South Point area have been done. We recently came back from Building 51, which not only hasn't been done, but also needs it desperately. First time ever we asked for a room change. I think Building 53 was done. And although Building 64, an elevator building, hasn't been done, it was in fairly good shape.

And was that un-used design more OKW than the current they chose to go with?

Not really, they made it look like the BCV/BWV refurb. White counter top, which they didn't do, just kept the old ones. Removed the big tub replaced with a tub like in BWV/BCV/CCV... Removed all color, kept the old furniture just a 'blah' recovering, I think they did keep that. New tile and glass enclosure in the master bath.... More like any condo in Dallas or Las Vegas.

I really hate that they are taking the Key West theme out of "our" Old Key West..... turning it into "New Whatever"......
