It says some sleep 5. Has anyone stayed in a 1BR here with 5 people? 4 Adults and 1 5 year old. Is it tight? I know the resort has been renovated and it looks really nice. Just need thoughts on it

Thanks

All the 1 bedrooms now have the king size bed in the master, plus the pullout couch in the living room and now a pullout chair (twin size, very nice), so yes, sleeps 5 comfortably. This is the largest square footage villa of any DVC resorts, so there is plenty of room.

In terms of SqFt, an OKW 1BR almost has as much space as 2BR's in other resorts. There's plenty of kitchen, dining and balcony space for everyone.

The perpetual question is, Do 2 adults want to share a full sized sleeper sofa?

The disadvantage of OKW is buildings 30 and below only have a bath entry through the bedroom. (Newer buildings also have an entry through laundry, too.

We just came back from Disney and stayed at a 1 BR in OKW. We had 5 people (me, husband, 15 yo, 13 yo and 12 yo). We fit very comfortably...though at times wished we had a second bathroom!!

I think for a family of 5, OKW 1BR is great.

Allowing a good friend or 2 to "crash" in your living room, fine.

Equally sharing room costs with another couple doesn't work so well or fairly with a sofa bed and a shared bathroom so 2 studios may be better.

This is exactly why we have been choosing AKV for our last couple of trips. We love the resort, but the 2nd bathroom is what seals the deal for us. We haven't stayed at OKW for about three years now so please someone correct me if I'm wrong......isn't the only way to enter the bathroom through the bedroom?

Yes - in buildings 11 to 29. Buildings 30 to 64, there is a separate bathroom entrance through the laundry room.

They only have to do that in a studio. The sleeper sofa in the one bedroom is a queen sized sleeper sofa.

the 1-bedroom is fine for 5.

the chair bed is twin side, but the sleeper sofa is definitely queen size.

in my younger days would sleep on the sofa and let mother have the king bed. so you can definitely do it.

you can not move the chair bed - so PLEASE don't try it.

Thank You for all your responses i guess what concerns me now is the 1 bathroom

Sooo next question OKW would ost me 186 points for a 6 night trip in the end of April/beg of May. I will not need to borrow any points to do that

HOWEVER

BLT 1 BR i would need to borrow about 40 points for the same time and get an extra Bathroom

Now What would you do?

I have never stayed at either resort

trying to get BLT is work in itself.

OKW and AKV (kidani) are both easier.

Kidani has the 2 bathrooms and is a little bigger than BLT. but both BLT and Kidani are smaller than OKW.

price AKV (kidani) then decide.

We just returned from OKW a week ago. We had 5 people in a one bedroom. It was my husband and I, our 21 year old, our 19 year old and our 15 year old. Overall, having only one bathroom was not a huge deal for us. The biggest deal was that the entry was in our bedroom. We also stayed at Vero Beach for a few days before OKW and had basically the same layout, except the bathroom had double doors, one entry to the bedroom, and the other to the hallway. It enabled someone to shower in privacy, while someone else did their hair and makeup in the bedroom side with the sink. If I stay at OKW again, I will definitely request a room in building 30 or higher. The facility was lovely and I loved the large balcony with a fan and light. We sat out there in the evening and played cards. There was plenty of space for five.

No need to worry about the sleeper sofa, since it is a queen size, not full size.

We just stayed in room 2315........a 1 BR.

There were 4 of us and my DD's don't like sleeping next to each other (one really kicks!!), So we were happy it had the pullout chair. The girls said it was comfortable. My DH also said is was more comfortable than the bed.
