I absolutley adore OKW. If you love )KW what other DVC resorts would I like. Not SSR please its to much like home to me. Grew up in NY but live in Boston area now with White Mountains nearby. So I want something else. Just incase we can't get into our favorite.

SSR is the resort that is closest in style to SSR. OKW is unique, in that it was the very first DVC and the units are the largest of the lot. There really is no other WDW DVC that approximates OKW.

By the way:
In our area, there is a radio station called WOKQ (OKQ). That's what I thought of when I saw the title of your thread.

I like BCV and AKV in addition to our home resort of OKW, I am with you on SSR, it looks too much like 100 condo golf front communities in our area of the mid atlantic.

I also love WL so I am looking forward to a stay at VWL.

We love OKW, I wanted to try something different, DH is adamant NO SSR or VWL. Anything else is fair game. I think BLT is to steril for me but it might be nice to be that close to the magic kingdom. If you want to be close to Epcot, BCV or BWV is where you want to stay. AKV is great if you like animals but it's not close to any parks except AK. IMO, you can't go wrong with any of the WDW DVC properties, so just try what appeals to you. We've stayed at all of them, and we have our favorites, but none of them are objectionable.

Walt Disney loved horses. He was a great polo player. Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa is a reflection of him. He would be proud of it. The theme is perfectly elegant. Of all of the Vacation Club Resorts, it is equal to the Grand Floridian because of it's chosen theme and decor.

Interesting comments. I love OKW, but I don't see SSR being "like OKW" at all. When I stayed at SSR, I thought it was a combination of the "hotel" style and "villa" style accommodations. Probably more like the hotel style than villa style, in fact. OKW is pretty unique in that area.

My favorites in order:
OKW
BCV
VWL

I live in CT, so SSR is bit too much like home with its furnishings etc. Not that it is awful and I have stayed there and had a great time. I just prefer vacationing in something with a completely different atmosphere than what I can get at home.

Love the tropicalness of OKW, love the beachiness of BCV, love the Pacific NOrthwesterness of VWL.

There is nothing like OKW, some refer to SSR as being the same but it isn't. SSR is not near the parks, and like OKW is near DTD. You don't really state what you adore about OKW so there's nothing to compare to as far as other resorts.

Personally, I love OKW for it's color scheme, huge rooms and living area, huge patios, lush landscaping & water views, being able to park in front of your villa and its all around tropical feel! Really nothing compares to OKW, at least in my book, though I love SSR, BWV and AKV as well but for different reasons.

DS(13) loves to be in the thick of things and his favorite resort is BWV and I must say I enjoy staying there from time to time. he loves being close to Epcot (our favorite park). But I prerer to be further away from the theme parks, I prefer OKW, SSR & AKV (even if it is a little dark in decor).
