that Rainforest Cafe is on their list of the next 10 chains they expect will go belly-up. I'm not a huge fan...the one at the Oak Park Mall in Kansas was iffy at best...but I was really looking forward to going to the T-Rex eventually.

We moved away from Kansas City shortly after the one by the race track opened...and the one at DTD was still under construction when we were there last year.

This would be another blow to DTD! As long as the Lego store is up and running we'll still make DTD a part of our trip, but the area must already be looking pretty bleak.

Here's hoping Disney has tenants who want to fill in the empty spots...it would be a shame to see the area sitting their empty!

That would be bad. The Lego store is probably the most important for us but I hate to see a bunch of empty stores.

Rainforest is owned by the Landry's chain. Their bank did not follow through with a $400 million finance package they needed for expansions and improvements. So now they are shopping for a new bank. The owner of the Landry's chain has a reputation as being "connected" if you know what I mean. So I doubt he will let his cash cow go out of business. I live in San Antonio and we have every restaurant offered in the chain and no one is worried about them closing. There may be some Joe's Crab Shacks here and there or the high dollar Chart House that may close but definately not any of the Rainforests

OH...I didn't know Rainforest was Landry's, too. Landry's was on the list...and I wondered about it because The Downtown Aquarium in Denver is owned by Landrys! Here's hoping the owner has friends with deep pockets...it would be sad to see everything involved with the name ending up closed!

I would just wait this one out. I highly doubt they will all go under. If anything they will close a few but def can't see them closing any DTD location as they are sure to be some of the busiest ones. :) And the T-Rex place looks neat but I am worried it might scare my kids lol

That's what I say. I'm sure not every restaurant in their chain will close but maybe a few average producing ones. The T-Rex seems limiting to me. My DD would not want to go there. But she loves to go to the Rainforest
