I know I really would and I'm sure it would continue to be completely booked. Of course it would have to have the same Savannah or Pool view only for it's rooms wiht no guarantee's.

Me, Me, Me! After just having my first concierge level stay I am definitely hooked! I would love to see more than 10 concierge rooms.

Yes!:cool1: I would also like to see Kidani use exclusive to DVC members if not already:confused3

It is exclusesivly DVC rooms in there. But there will always be renters and cash ressies when a DVC member gave up their week.

I emailed DVC guest services suggesting that another safari tour be created for DVC guests staying at Kidani. I got an email thanking me for my suggestion. I see to recall getting a phone call as well on that one. Who knows about concierge. I think another safari is a possibility.

I don't think concierge will happen in Kidani. They would have to completely redo the point filings (total points available for sale), and some units have already sold. But they could certainly make a second sunrise safari group available to Kidani, without a concierge club level.

Nuthin like being shot down in flames with a reality check eh! Oh well we can dream :wizard:

well this post isn't about what is or isn't a possibility. Things change fast in the DVC world, just look at the new booking rules. I think that they could redo the total points for sale until they start selling those last few points. It's not like it's looking to sell out anytime soon.

Personally I've never understood the attraction to concierge service. Why pay a premium for a few snacks and drinks. Maybe someone can enlighten me.

With points, it's not all that much difference. We don't buy the dining plan if we are in concierge since we get more than enough food being up there. Plus I like having the daily cleaning and my bed being made. it makes me feel like I am on vacation not having to do it myself. Also, I have been able to secure reservations thru Concierge services that I have not been able to get myself due to "no availability" as a regular person. The more times I visit WDW, the more we end up in our room and not rushing to do everything, it gives us the chance to not have to shop for food for the room and have it available still right there.

Although a nice idea, I wonder if it wouldn't be a slap in the face to non concierge guests at AKL? Slap in the face is stronger than I mean but why should DVC members get a perk that regular guests can't book?

Is that not the point.:confused3 People buying into DVC should get extra perks once in a while:cool1:

But we already do...the best of which in my opinion is the AP discount.

Guests at the AKL are paying in today's dollars while we pay dues after the initial buy in. :confused3

Not me. Don't see the value of concierge in a timeshare setting. In a hotel environment it works, but unless the presence of CL was simply to have access to the safari options (which could theoretically be addressed in other ways, rather than CL), it would have zero value to me.

But is there a downside to offering it to members who would like it even if it doesn't hold value for you?

I'm glad a no person chimed in. I've wondered why some vote no. I can certainly understand some not wanting to take advantage of it personally but wonder why they think it shouldn't be an option.

It may make dues higher for everyone, whether you use concierge or not. For instance, say someone has 119 points for 7 nights in a concierge studio.

With that 119 points you get daily housekeeping 6 times, not counting check-in check-out day that all members receive.

Another member has 119 points and stays in a non-concierge savannah studio for 8 nights for 112 points, with 7 points left over. That member will get 1 housekeeping and 1 T & T day.

But since the housekeeping is paid for by dues, not per individual, in essence each member is paying the cost in dues for 3 1/2 nights of full housekeeping and 1/2 day of T & T. The non-concierge guest is paying extra for services used by the concierge guest. While the cost is negligible if only a tiny percentage of are concierge, the cost of dues increases to everyone who owns at the resort for each additional concierge unit added.

There is a higher cost associated with CL than regular DVC rooms. All of the "free" stuff folks like to receive and the CL staff themselves are going to cost $$$ (and housekeeping costs go up, as Chuck pointed out) and in this case the cost will be spread over the dues of the entire AKV membership, even though I suspect the majority of them wouldn't give a hoot about CL in a timeshare setting. ( BTW - If I told my wife we were going to WDW for a week and we were going to dine on snacks & appetizers in a CL lounge, I'd be sleeping in that lounge for the week.)

I'm all for offering things that the majority of the membership will take advantage of. In this case, considering the expense and the fact that CL would only be desireable to a small minority I just don't feel that CL $$$ would be a wise investment for the majority.

Good points, Chuck and jarestel.

But such inequities already exist in DVC point requirements. At AKV, those staying in value and standard rooms pay lower points but receive the same service as Savannah view. Ditto with standard view at BWV.

jarestel, I suppose there might be people who limit their dining to the the lounge while staying club level but I can't imagine that either.

True, they pay lower points to stay in the rooms, but the fact that they stay in those rooms doesn't add anything to the cost of running the resorts. The CMs and services of the resorts are available regardless of whether those lower point rooms exist or not. In other words, if all of the rooms were the same point costs, expenses would neither increase or decrease. However CL at Kidani Village would require a whole new class of services and support personnel that does not currently exist anywhere within DVC except at Jambo House and I believe the costs there are subsidized by the AKL.

Even though I personally don't see any value in CL, if I believed that the majority of DVC members would enjoy this, I'd have no problem supporting it.

Good luck!

Thanks for the good luck but I don't expect it to happen. Was just participating in the discussion. Lisa has posted that the website explicitly states only Jambo will have club level villas...or something to that effect.

Besides we have a small contract at AKV which is perfect for us but with the new booking rules, we'll probably never get club level there again. Which is OK.
