Enough of this crazy talk about the rides:rotfl2:, I want to know about the eating experience.:lmao: What was it like? Good food? Special beer?:confused3

Special Beer? Yes--the Hog's Head Brew. It's a bitter ale, only available @ the Broomsticks/Hog's Head.

Foodwise, I've had the Cornish pasties. Yum. I know people that had the chicken/ribs platter, and the shepherd's pie. All got solid reviews.

Beverage wise, there's butterbeer, pumpkin juice & pumpkin fizz (uses soda water), iced teas, ciders, lemonade, and muggle beer (bud light, for example).

Basically, if you ever ate at the Enchanted Oak, Three Broomsticks is on par with it. The Oak was one of my favorite CS locations. :)

and there's water at 3 Brmstix too...right DM?

They were only serving breakfast to the package holders today and according to the TM at the 3 Broomsticks, they won't be serving regular meals until after the grand opening. I did get a Hogshead Brew and a Butterbeer at the Hogshead tavern, both were excellent. They were only letting us non-package holders look around the inside, the menu looked yummy....I really wanted some fish & chips but I feel privliged just to be able to look around.

I'm from England - I could leave my house now and in under 10 minutes be in an 'authetic pub' which has been there for over 100 years with a similar menu to the one that is being described here. But this is the one that I'm extremely excitied to see. I personally can't wait to go there for lunch! I'm sure the food will be good...but it will with a bit of luck have that touch of something magical which the one here cant' offer!

We have a pub just down the street here too. It is truly one because it's run by an Englishman to be just like home. I also hope for that something extra magical at the Three Broomsticks though.

Ooh, the Hogshead Brew sounds tasty.:drinking1 I can definitely do without that "muggle" brew though.:lmao:

Can anyone tell me what they have on the menu for breakfast? I heard that it was catered for the hotel guest with packages . We'll be going in August and have reservations here but I want to know if it's worth taking our time away from getting an early start on the lines. (We don't have FOLT passes)

I'd love it if they had black pudding, but most Americans freak out when they find out what that is (blood sausage...mmmmm!).

I would also be interested in this..................and of course any photos of the food!!! :rotfl2:

Can anyone tell me how far in advance you can book for breakfast and dinner if you are a universal guest? How do you do this?

Many thanks and to all those who are lucky enough to be there in the coming months have a butter beer for me!!:woohoo:

Debsx

the breakfast is only for the package people

lunch and dinner is counter service

This was on another thread, which I can't find, but I had copied it for an email to a friend:
From a Facebook fan posting:

There is an English breakfast (with black pudding, sausage, bacon and eggs) an American breakfast with scrambled eggs & bacon & sausage and potatoes, a pancake breakfast with bacon and sausage, an oatmeal breakfast and a fruit breakfast.

So looks like you can get your black pudding if you want, and if not, you can stick with the less exotic American staples of pancakes and sausage. :)

Do they serve other Alcohol drinks beside just beer, wife hates beer!

Yes, they have a limited bar. Bacardi (rum), Smirnoff (vodka), Jack Daniels (whiskey), Tanqueray (gin), I believe Cuervo, definitely some type of tequila.

No Coke products for mixing, but they do have juices and tonic...and vermouth.

Also sell wine by the glass but I felt like I'd interrogated the bartenders enough, didn't ask which varieties.

I think we're going to try to do breakfast tomorrow if they have another soft opening. I adore black pudding and can't wait to try it. (Yes, I'm a savage...am Pollack on one side so love kieska (sp), which is another kind of blood sausage, and am German on the other side so love hackpeter, which is raw ground beef mixed with onions and topped with a raw egg).

Finally did breakfast today. Very, very good--more in line with a cruise ship than what I'd expect from theme park counter service. Real scrambled eggs, real sliced potatoes in the homefries, nice croissant.

That said--I still feel ripped off having paid $15! (Eggs, potatoes, two bacon, two sausage, croissant, and a drink) In fairness, the lunch menu was also up, looks a bit cheaper--strange, I know.

They are assigning tables as you walk out with your tray. That worked well. However, people filling orders seemed like they need a lot more practice.

Stools mysteriously come and go from the Hogs Head. Were there Tuesday, gone later in the week, back this morning. The bar gets slammed very quickly--two days I've been there now they have not been able to keep frozen Butterbeer in stock. Uni needs to think up another drink stand location quick, I think.

That breakfast sounds good but yes, expensive. I think that we'll stick with lunch.

They are running out of frozen Butterbeer while in previews? That doesn't bode well for when the general public descends on the place.
