Okay, who ate at the Three Broomsticks or visited the pub?

They are definitely running out of frozen butterbeer regularly. We haven't been able to get it three or four times now.

The breakfast was good but I wish they had a mix and match. I love black and white pudding but would rather have the pancakes than the stuff that comes with it (scrambled eggs, baked beans etc.). Took a little while to get the food but not unreasonably so and I like the fact that they seat you.

We had the reg. butter beer and the frozen everyday we were there. Delicious! I also had the Hog's Head Ale (at 9:45am!) and it was great. Didn't want to pay $15 for breakfast so we didn't eat. Lunch wasn't available the whole time we were there (June 2-4). Might be by this weekend though.

I had breakfast there. It was a bit on the pricey side but I did get a good look around. Also love the Hogs Head sat there awhile and avoided the rain. Also got my butterbeer there with no line.:thumbsup2

How much is the butterbeer if you don't get the mug?

Also, has anyone been able to tell what the prices will be for lunch items? Usually lunch prices are pretty reasonable in Universal.

The mug is refillable! That's the important part! Otherwise I heard it's around $5. Prices for the lunch items are actually reasonable. $10-$15 for most platters, and most include an ear of corn, big portion sizes, and veggies.

Butterbeer Souveiner is $8.50 ($9.50 frozen)
Refills are $2.29 (3.29 frozen) (same price as the 12 oz cup)

here are the main courses at 3b

for $15+ for just some eggs, bacon, croissant, etc. you should be getting some entertainment or a photo op. i mean the other character breakfast is only a couple dollars more and you get to interact with spiderman & take a photo. maybe the frog choir could do a couple peformances or take pics w/ people.

I doubt people would go for that since the frog choir is readily available for performances and photos outside of the eatery. No need to pay extra to have a meal.

Maybe a wizard performing a little magic show? Really, though, it's counter service and not really set up for that sort of thing.

*if* there were any character meet and greets, I'm sure it'd be something a bit obscure like Fawkes, Fang, Hedwig. But I doubt JK Rowling would go for that. I think she'd find it beyond cheesy and inappropriate for her world. It would be cool if there was a barman dressed up like Aberforth though...I'm kinda betting she would approve that. Who knows? :)

Sounds like a recurring theme.. Harry Potter is expensive!!!

Actually not. The Butterbeer seems perfectly reasonable to me, and most of the merchandise is reasonable by theme park standards--$10 for a pin is ridiculous to me but Disney gets that or more, and wand prices are consistent with catalogs.

And as i said, the announced lunch/dinner prices are not bad--less than the breakfast prices! Not sure why breakfast is so out of whack (unless the announced prices are not set in stone yet).

Just back from WWoHP. I'm gonna post everywhere w/pics, so here goes:

We spent 3 days there. Didn't even plan on 3 Broomsticks because I assumed it was for those only with the HP hotel package but when we got inside on Tuesday, June 1 at 10:30 AM they were literally begging us to eat there. I mean, asking us 3 different ways, are you hungry? Would you like a continental breakfast? Don't you want to come in?

There's really no one behind us.

Menu is brightly lit up.

Follow the line and in the window on your left is a display of real food. Sorry, in low light I didn't change the camera settings.

You first order in one area, (notice no one is there)

then pick up the food in the other.

I had the smoked salmon breakfast. Again sorry for the blurriness.

The kids had the adult pancake breakfast split. DH had the continental breakfast which was mostly fruit. He was still queasy from the Dueling Dragons ride.

More pics:

As you sit eating, look at the walls. As one waitress(?) said, sometimes you'll see something magical happen. My daughter would occasionally point and yell look at that! I'd turn my head and see nothing. But she'd insist and say she saw an "owl go by" :wizard:

That actually looks good to me. I just hope that there will be lower cost alternatives for breakfast once they actually open.

Stepped into Hogshead Brew for quick pics:

On the far left was a stairs blocked off. Listen closely and you'll hear sounds of guests "upstairs".
