I just heard "Spill the Wine" by War  . I've decided to STOP trying to figure out songs made during that era because the person who wrote could NOT hve been in his right mind!!!

Here's a few others:

Sunshine Superman by Donovan

Atomic Dog by George Clinton (anything by George Clinton!)

A Lovely Day by Bill Withers

Any others? :teeth:

Lookin' Out My Back Door- CCR

Scuse me while I kiss the sky-- Hendrix

How about Taxi Driver by Harry Chapin... great beginning, but after the instrumental, I think the drugs kicked in at the studio...

In the year 2525-- that is a TRIPPING song

Comfortably Numb- Pink Floyd

I actually saw Lou Reed mess up on lyrics once on live TV. He was on a SNL performance, and was singing Susanne... and he messed up the lyrics, and said some expletives.. now in reruns, you don't see it!

"I predict" by sparks..

Couldn't find a lyrics page, but its a weird early 80's song in the new wave style..

It goes something like this..

I predict you're gonna take a walk in the rain
and your gonna get wet now
I predict
I predict that you're gonna eat a bowl of chow mein and
get hungry real soon, now
I predict...

And it goes on... its pretty weird...

Ok, more.. anything by Laurie Anderson, Lene Lovich, Nina Hagen, and Siouxsie Sue...

They are just a little weird, if you aren't used to them

Grace Jones was a little out there too...

Heres' a pretty Popular Peter Gabriel song with Laurie Anderson that is a little strange...(love Peter Gabriel too, but I think he "shook the tree" a little hard in the 80's.. shock the monkey.. enough said on that one)

excellent birds

flying birds
excellent birds
watch them fly, there they go
falling snow
excellent snow
here it comes. watch it fall

long words
excellent words
I can hear them now

this is the picture, this is the picture
this is the picture, this is the picture

I'm sitting by the window
watching the snow fall
I'm looking out
and I'm moving, turning in time
catching up. moving in
jump up! I can land on my feet. look out!

this is the picture, this is the picture
this is the picture, this is the picture

looking out. watching out
when I see the future I close my eyes
I can see it now

I see pictures of people, rising up
pictures of people, falling down
I see pictures of people
they're standing on their heads, they're ready
they're looking out, look out!
they're watching out, watch out!
they're looking out, look out!
they're watching out, watch out!

I see pictures of people
I see pictures of people

Now if they weren't on something then, well don't know what to say on that one...

LOL Hnymoon@Dixie! :)

Oh, I don't know, maybe a couple of Mr. Bowie's songs............lol......

time and again i tell myself
i'll stay clean tonight
but the little green wheels are following me
oh no not again
i'm stuck with a valuable friend
i'm happy hope you're happy too

Ashes to Ashes

.....saw him in concert 2 or 3 times, not sure, for some reason it's all a little hazy...;) :p :)

White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane (just heard it on the radio :D )

How 'bout Bohemian Rhapsody????? ;)

Macarthur Park is another likely candidate... :p

olena--

Too funny about Bowie

OK, some Cure ones are a little bit out there as well...

Have you ever SEEN Dylan in concert???
I saw him about 10 years ago WOW
It ( the drugs ) aint over

David Bowie definately ( what was the movie he did?) especially as Ziggy Stardust.

many of the songs from 80's "hard rock" wanna be bands

And who'd sing a song, "Cocaine"? Singing (I think) "It's alright, it's alright, alright, Cocaine" and be straight.

"You Light Up My Life" by Debbie Boone

Oh, no that's different. You had to be on drugs to be able to listen to it.
