Today I went to Dave and Buster's. Well, I was going to win this little pink bear for my friends (13) little sister (4 i think) and I was waiting for this woman (really old woman) to be done with her turn at the crane machine. I had my eye on the pink bear and hoped she wouldn't go for it. (i know crane machines are rip-offs usually but these were super easy and TOTALLY 100% fair, I had already won a flower for me and a little puppy for my brother (7) )
So she was done with her turn and got a little plush for herself (or so I thought...) well she swiped her little play card and was gonna play again. Which was fine, because I played 2 times to get something. She won something and swiped her card again......And won something....And then she swiped it AGAIN! So I looked at where she was putting all these animals and she had a JUMBO SIZED GARBAGE BAG FILLED WITH THE LITTLE STUFFED ANIMALS FROM THE MACHINE!!!!!! I MEAN LITERALLY FILLED! (tell me, Lord that I was mistaken and she had a puprose for all of these) She kept going and going and going and going until I gave up and played some other games....Well I came back later and she was packing up her HUGE JUMBO garbage bag full of animals and she was about to leave, and of course I ran out of uses on my play card thingy so I couldnt win the bear...But of course, even if I did have enough, the bear was gone...So was over half of the animals in the crane machine!!! >:-( :headache: I mean, she wasn't acting rude to me, but she saw I was waiting, plus...Who takes OVER half of the crane machine animals??? She better have a good reason for that! That is SO rude!

So... If anyone would like to comment their opinions on this or tell me any rude encounters they've had anywhere, go ahead! I'm all ears. :rolleyes1

My father-in-law is 70, and as odd as it sounds, he and two friends will play those crane machines, sometimes taking turns while bowling on their league. It is like a hobby, but they save them up and every Christmas they take them to the church, a battered women's shelter, and to children who need them. I like to think that lady maybe does the same thing?

That said, knowing my FIL, if he knew someone was waiting on the machine, he'd step aside and give them a go, especially if it was a younger person.

:) That's sweet! I had the same thought in my head and that's why I put:

(tell me, Lord that I was mistaken and she had a puprose for all of these)

Hopefully, that was the reason she did that- but if not, that was rude. :( That is sooo sweet of your father-in-law. :) What a nice thing to do.

Even if that's what she ws doing, I'd still love to hear about some rude encounter stories from you guys!!!

She won those. Its not like she took a hammer to the side of the machine and stole them. She paid exuberant prices for that "arcade" and won everything in that garbage bag. She played by the rules, and you can't really get upset with her for that. It doesn't matter WHY she was playing the game. Its not rude.

Um, excuse me? I think that (if it IS NOT for a good purpose) that is is VERY rude to sit there for 4 hours and win a HUGEE bag full of animals and leave like 12 for everyone else. Especially when you see there is someone waiting on you. Unless that were for a good cause, I find that VERY rude. ;)

Well you didn't say anything to her. She was just doing her thing.

P.s. no need for the tude, you asked for opinions.

'tude?' I'm sorry, but all I said was Um, excuse me?...

Plus, why would I need to tell her if she saw me waiting on her with a play card in my hand... ;) I'm fine w/ opinions, and I'm just giving mine back! ;)

It IS rude to keep someone waiting though. Even if she did win those fair and square, she acted selfishly by keeping a little girl waiting for hours. She could have waited for the girl to have a go, and then keep on filling the bag. It's not that hard. What a mean old lady.

I would've laughed, it sounds pretty cute. And the first thing that came to mind was maybe she had grandchildren that she wanted to get the toys for or maybe she was going to give them to charity. Even so, it doesn't really matter, she did use her own money to get them. She might not have seen you and I'm sure if you would've asked she probably would've let you get what you wanted. Maybe she thought you were just watching her because you thought it was amusing.

I've never really had any rude encounters except for the select few who run into you and scowl like you purposely tried to knock them over.

Dang. Maybe she has a lot of grandkids....

Let's say I go to WDW with my family. We're at EPCOT. We really wanna go on Soarin', so I go to get Fastpasses for us. There's a Fastpass Runner for a tour group in front of me nd the only open machine; the rest are broken. This is a large tour group, over 100 people. So, by the time they get all of theirs, there's no Fastpasses left, or they're for a time we can't make because of dinner reservations at MK. I was standing behind them, with my ticket out, waiting. Should they have stepped aside and let me get four Fastpasses? No. They paid just as much as we did for park admission, and therefore had every right to get Fastpasses. So I just suck it up nad we try another day.

Substitute Dave and Buster's for EPCOT, the machine for Soarin', and stuffed animals for Fastpasses. She paid just as much as you to use the machine. Just because she had a lot of "Fastpasses" to get doesn't make her rude. Just try again another day. :goodvibes

PS: If in any way, shape, or form this came out rude, I appologize. I did not mean to be rude, snotty, or offensive and am sorry if I was. :upsidedow

Ok first; Stop ripping into this girl. She is 13. She has an opinion just like you. Just because you don't agree with her, doesn't mean you can be rude to her. I will say though, that you both are being snarky to each other, and there is no need for that.

Second; There is such a thing as common courtesy. If you are at a water fountain and you are filling up a water bottle and a line begins to form behind you, it would be polite to move, let the people get a quick drink, then continue. Or if you are at the, let's say, meat counter at the store, and you aren't sure what you want yet, and someone comes up behind you, you should let them ahead of you because they are probably ready. And if when you tell them to go ahead and they aren't ready, then you both can stand there until one of you figures out what you want. Or it's not polite to monopolize a waiters time trying to decide what you want to order when he could be off at another table while you decide.

And another thing; She went in there knowing that she was going to be leaving with many toys. She brought a bag to put them in for goodness sake! She should have let her go when she saw her behind her. She knew what she was doing, whether or not it was for a 'good purpose'. Either way she should have let her take her turn and be done with it.

In the water example, why should I have to move because people are behind me? I was there first and more then likely I'm nearly done anyway. The people behind me can wait a minute for me to finish up and leave. Waiting two minutes for me to fill up a water bottle won't kill them.

For the meat counter example, again, I was there first. Why should I have to let a bunch of people ahead of me because I don't know exactly what I want the second I step up to the counter? Waiting a couple minutes still won't kill them.

For the waiter example, again, I am first. It's my turn to order and I am going to order. If I know that it's going to take me more then two minutes to decide, I'll probably ask for a few minutes. But I'm not going to do that just because I don't know exactly what I want the moment the waiter
comes to the table.

Bottom line, the lady at the crane machine was there first. She spent all of her money winning those toys. She has a right to do that.

It didn't come out rude! See? THIS is the kind of opinion I want. She stated her opinion, but she didn't make it rude and snotty like all of you (most of you) people are doing. ;)

I wanted to add that just because a person has a right to do a certain thing, doesn't mean they should. Keeping a little girl waiting was rude. People need to start putting themselves in other people's shoes for crying out loud.

What you people don't seem to understand is, you are making example like the water example that does not apply to the actual situation! In the water situation, you were there first and the person behind you should be able to wait a minute or two for their water...In MY situation, she was taking HOURS to get what she wanted. Not joking, literally like 1 hour and a half. She was there from the time I got there and the time I left. :/

Imagine waiting for a sip of water, when the person in front of you is like, sucking the water out of the water fountain, taking an hour and a half to do so!. :headache:

Thank you! I mean, I have a right to use the crane machine just as much as she has a right to use to crane machine! (well, before she took absolutley everything from the crane machine, that is...)

Yes, I'm thinking to myself, what a crane hogger! haha

Okay. I'm just going to post once and that's it.
This is a stuffed animal you are talking about. Not gold or anything expensive.
I agree with Shelby, she won those stuffed animals. It doesn't matter what she was using them for.
You could have just asked if you could have used it quickly, and then won the bear and left.
Or told the manager about the lady. Maybe then she would move. I don't know.
But some of you are acting so ridiculous!
