Okay this is going to be hectic, can we make it work?

Okay me and my better half are going to be in Disney on July 29th for just one night unfortunitly. We are flying up north to visit family on the 30th for about a week and are taking advantage of the extra day and putting our annual passes to use! We've only used them for two days since I bought them in May and that fact is driving me nuts lol.

I know a lot of you will find this to hectic for a Disney trip, but we all know we never sleep at Disney

Anyways we are planning on driving up bright and early on the 29th (friday) and hitting one of the parks when we get there in the morning. I'm still debating this but I'm thinking probably MGM. Around 3 o'clock when check in time becomes available we are going to head over to Cornado springs were we have a reservation for that night.

At this point is where I have my first question to you experts. We have reservations for Trails End buffet in Ft. Wilderness at 8:30 PM that night. I planned it this way because according to what I could decipher from allears.net and the representative I spoke with on the phone, the electric boat parade should pass by ft. wilderness about 9:45 PM and the Wishes display from the magic kingdom should be immediatly following. I always thought the boat parade was after the fireworks but she said it was before. If this is true I plan to have dinner from 8:30 - 9:30 ish and then head out to the beach for the boat show at 9:45 and then catch the wishes display at 10.

THENNNNNNNN jump on a boat and head over to Magic Kingdom because its open till 2 AM becuase of extended hours that night. I know a lot of you say its better to avoid the extra hours, but thats our only day in the parks so we will take what we can get. Then of course somehow when we leave magic kingdom at the end of the night we have to get back to Cornado Springs.

We will have a car with us, my only question is given our crazy schedule, how do you all recommend we do it? I was hoping to get a hotel reservation at a resort that had boat access to Ft. Wilderness but nothing was available except conceriege suites and we arn't looking to spend that much on a one night trip. We got to get up Saturday the 30th and head back down to Miami as we have a flight to catch that night (it's going to be crazy I know!).

Anyways any and all input on how to work the transportation situation would be appreciated. We are not overly concerned with our time in the parks as we have done all the big attractions and plan to visit several more times in the next year, we just want our pixie-dust fix

Also do my times and plan for Trails end, the boat parade, and wishes sound correct?

Thanks in advance everyone and God's blessings!

Sorry I originally had a problem getting the post to create itself for some reason, if you don't see the whole story hit refresh! Thanks!

It's doable, if you're willing, and you sound willing. :) And whatever anyone says about EMH, do not listen to them. We went during PEAK season (Easter weekend, to be exact) to an EMH at MK and the park was practically empty, we never waited and walked right onto every ride (we got A LOT done that night!)

Oh, I almost forgot: :wizard: Pixie dust! Have a happy, magical, and safe trip!

Thanks Lfama!

What I'm mainly trying to get input on is what the best way to work the transportation throughout the day is and if the times sound right for the electric boat parade and the wishes fireworks. On an EMH night should the boat parade be passing ft wilderness at 9:45 and wishes following at 10? I just want to make sure I have my times right.

Thanks again!

I believe those times are correct. I was told the EWP goes by WL approx. 9:35, so if it heads to FW next, 9:45 should be about right, and according to the calendar, Wishes is at 10:00. I'm not sure about the transportation issues, but hopefully someone else out there can help.

Good Luck :wizard:

My two cents on the transportation. Easiest way to/from Fort Wilderness is the boat from the Magic Kingdom. So use that to get over to your seating and then again on the way back. Take the bus to the Magic Kingdom and then again after the EMH.

The other option would be to park at Fort Wilderness before your dinner, take the internal bus back to Trail's End, then the boat over and back for the Magic Kingdom and then the internal Fort Wilderness bus back to the parking lot.

One other suggestion. You don't have to wait until 3:00 to check into Coronado Springs. On our Mouse Suicide Runs (that's what I call our 24 hour trips), we always check in as soon as we hit property and then just call back for our room number. That way, we can go back whenever we want.

Hi,

This is actually the first year I will be spending MORE than one day at Disney! Haha. I have relatives in the Orlando area so everytime I went when I was younger we could only go for one day.

The last time I went was Thanksgiving weekend of 2003. My sister's and I managed to go to all four parks in ONE DAY. Isn't that insane? We were tired by the end and we definitely didn't get to stop and smell the roses, but we did get to do every ride that we wanted, even during a busy weekend.

Envision what the perfect day at disney would be and then try your best to plan it that way. If you don't want to feel rushed, then prioritize your list of attractions and dining. If you want to see all the rides, cut back on dining times. I think you will be fine! Coming from a person who is used to seeing it all in one day, I don't think you have anything to worry about!

Thanks for the reply! I was wondering if we could check-in early. How does that work, do they give you a key or what? The reason I ask is because I was told you would have to have a key for EMH, a valid reservation won't work. I was told 2 hours before park closing we need to go and get the wristbands. Our problem is we will be eating at that time, I'm assuming though if we show our resort room keys they'll let us in the gate and then we can go get them?

Also how late to the boats to Ft. Wilderness run? Are they still going at 2 am? I had never thought about parking at Ft. Wilderness. I'm assuming all the busses have to run past 2 AM on EHM night or there would be a lot of hitchhiking resort guests.

Thanks again!

Thanks for the reponse Karma, I definitely know all about the 1 day trips. The first time I went with my girlfriend to Disney we just drove up for the day and we had been together about 2 years and we realized she had never been to disney the real way. She had been to Magic Kindgom but never any of the other parks or other resorts, and even in MK she just did the normal non-disney fanatic stuff. Needless to say when we finally got up there together I was so excited I wanted to show her everything. We got there at 9 am when the park opended (we left around 5:30 am from miami and I told her we were getting a package I needed to pickup for work, she had no idea until we were literally walking in gate where we were going) and we truly had a magical day. The crowds were just working with us 100%. God truly blessed us with a beautiful day, it was hot but not unbearable. We did every park but AK that day and did EVERY major attraction. We then went back on another trip this past May when we got her AP's and that time we took our time over 2 days and did the smaller attractions that we missed (muppet babies 4d, el rio de tiempo, the malestrom, living seas, backlot tour etc). It was nuts, we literally were exhausted and we didn't eat all day long. The only thing we stopped to eat was these free peanut bags they were handing out in Epcot at some exhibit while you walked by. AFTER all the parks closed we went to the 24 hour places for dinner (Gasparilla behind GF is our favorite). It was nuts but we had a blast (unfortunitly we had to drive home to Miami after).

Anyways thanks again for the replies everyone. Once I get all these quesions about checking in and EMH answered maybe we can put together a tentative time plan =).

Checking in early is easy. We do it all the time. Just go and get all your paperwork handled. You will be given your room key at that time. If a room isn't available (and probably won't be), just call back later in the afternoon for the room number. I just take the resort phone number and then ask if the room is available yet. Then you'll get the number. Your room key will be automatically activated once the room has been cleared after cleaning. After your early check in, there's no need to go back to the front desk at all. Like my son once said "it's magic". So you will have your resort IDs as soon as you check in. Most of the time, the Cast Member will tell you what building you are going to be in. If not, ask them for at least that info. So you know where to park when you return.

Not sure about the EMH question since it's been a while since I did one of those and things have changed.

Boats to Fort Wilderness should be running an hour after park closing. Same with the buses.

Have fun!

How about taking the bus from your resort to the MK? Take the boat over to FW in time for your dinner. When you are done with dinner, take the boat back over to MK. Do the park. Then take the bus back to your resort. Might save some time and worry about the buses/boats operating.

Thanks Disnut8 and Deb&Bill,

I'm glad to know I can check in early Disnut, and I'm pretty sure that is the plan of action I'm going to take Deb&Bill. We shall see how it all goes. I'm thinking of going to the resort around 9 am and check-in (even if we can't go to the room) and then take the bus to mgm or epcot for the first half the day and then take it the magic kingdom to hang out for a bit and catch the boat over to FW.

Thanks!
