Well, compared to my "Ut-Oh" thread, this one will be boring.

First things first: DW took a little nap on Thursday, felt better. Took another little nap later on- felt nearly 100%. Not quite sure what she caught - upset stomach, dizzy, general blaaaa feeling - maybe the General Tso's at Nine Dragons didn't sit right. Anyway, she's better, just a little hic-cup in an otherwise great trip.

The room was a studio, #375, looked out over the canal, had backside view of The Land, little bit of The Ball. Nice view of the mid & upper firework shells from Illumination. Road noise was not an issue. With the balcony doors closed we heard nothing. Sitting outside we obviously could hear the vehicles, but no big deal. Overall good location, would have no problem getting same room next trip.

The room itself was in great shape. As a rule, I'm not a very picky person. Bugs smaller then a Quarter - regardless of the number of legs - dust balls smaller then a cat generallly are acceptable. And if leaving the bathroom light off makes the room less scary- so be it. like I said...I'm not picky. BUT..... after all the negative reports I've read about BCV I figured it was time to act like a responsible member. If the rooms truely are being neglected, then it's my job as an owner to get problems taken care of. After all, it is MY MONEY. Without going into detail about all that was great with the room, I'll just list the defects:

1) On the mini fridge door, the plastic was broken off the upper left side corner. A piece of plastic about the size of my pinky fingernail was gone.

2) During our stay, the hot water valve on the vanity sink started leaking onto the vanity top - not bad, just messy. DW wrapped a wash cloth around it.

3) The day before we left, the tub started draining slow.

There you have it. All the ugly details. We called engineering before we checked out to inform them of these issues, (not the fridge door, it really is a nothing problem, just something that caught my eye). Only the next guest will know for sure.

What would I like to see improved:

1) Better water pressure during "normal" showering hours. Why did I specify "normal" ??? Because today we showered at 5:30 - 6:00 AM and the water pressure was great. The resort needs a larger main.

2) They need a mattress "topper" , similar to what the Sheraton's use on their beds. DW will now request at checkin that an "egg grate" be sent to the room. She got one for the last two nites we were there and it made a huge difference.

What would I like to see members do ?

1) KEEP YOUR KIDS OFF THE OUTDOOR SPEAKERS !!!
They used to play music by the pool and hot tub. We noticed while at the hot tub our first evening there was no music. The next day we saw that most on the speakers - you know, those green, oversized septic tank mushroom looking things that the kids are jumping on - are all broken.

That's all for now. Trip report later. TTFN.

For the record I have an 18 pound cat so that would worry me and I can't tolerate bugs with greater than 8 legs myself.;) It's my DW who brings the white gloves.

I'll have to pay attention to the music (or lack of) when I get there in a few weeks. I hadn't noticed that on our last trip.

Glad your DW was feeling better. Overall it sounds like things went well. Thanks for the info.

I'm pretty sure that I read somewhere that Disney has a new speaker contract and is replacing all speakers resort-wide. If I recall correctly there is a new technology that makes the speakers work better outside.

Great idea - do you think you can request those at any resort?

Thanks for the report. We had a great first trip home to BCV last March! Being from the south originally I must say that there aren't many bugs or even lizards that bother me. As far as dust bunnies, I'm not too picky either, as long as the place is cleaner than my house here I'm happy!!

Bexx, I'm fairly certain the egg crates are availible at all DVC and WDW resorts.

Doug7856, the old speakers would work fine if the kids hadn't broken them.

Are we talking about one of those funky looking foam mattress pads? They have those available?

How do they feel?

rinkwide : yeah they are funky looking foam pads. I didn't want the crate on my side so DW folded it in half and it made a HUGE difference to her. Try one next time, I think you'll like it.
