...I still don't have anything for him. 
I also have no idea *what* to get for him.
He used to like puzzles, but told me the other day that his eyesite is going enough that it's hard for him to do them any more.
He loves Lord of the Rings, but I think I've exhausted what I can get for him along those lines unless it's the Hobbit on book on tape (he reads *very* slowly, so prefers books on tape). But, those of you who have read the Hobbit or Lord of the Rings know how slow moving and hard Tolkein's writing can be, so I'm not sure whether he'd get into it.
He loves Harry Potter, but again I don't know of anything else I can get him related to Harry Potter. He's got all of those books on tape, has actually *read* the books themselves (first set of books besides Louis L'amore I've ever seen him read).
He hates sports, so nothing sports related.
He loves Colorado, the mountains, and eagles, but I can't think of anything new to get him related to those. He's got more eagles than he knows what to do with.
Anyone have any suggestions?
