Okay, so just wondering :).... Are there any other singers on this board??

awwwwwwwh.

actually I just thought of this. Kinda random, but it just came to my mind. Has anybody had any friends that like, think they're AWESOME singers and sing at the top of their lungs, but they reaaaally suck/are just mediocre? I know about two of them in my church choir, and they're ALWAYS in front of the microphone. Talk about a headache. Lol.

Ohhhh yeah. Now my voice is kind of loud (speaking voice too...) but my cousin sings like alllll the time and is always asking "how do I sing? Am I good? L's just jealous when she says I'm bad right?" Now she's not like reallllly bad, but she's almost always flat. And she keeps wanting to start singing groups and she keeps saying how she thinks she should tell our choir director that she should have solos and stuff. It drives me crazy sometimes. I'm may not be greeeat but I do have a pretty good ear, I'm not bragging, I'm just learning to play the piano by ear and well, it helps.

I know exactly what you mean with the whole ear thing. I mean, I'm not trying to brag either or anything, but it seems like most people turn a deaf ear to when they're off pitch, but me, I actually, y'know, LISTEN to what I'm singing, and I know when I'm off-tune. So I get what you're saying.
And I'm driven crazy by it too. Hahaha. It's like, I WANT to tell her what I really think about her singing, but I don't want to sound, y'know, like I'm doing it just to break her down instead of being constructive criticism. *siiiigh* Haha.

I love to sing. I'm an alto, and I'm in choir and I do musical theater in my local group. I stink though but other people tell I'm good...? And I'm too quiet.

Exactly. I can't tell her, because everything between us has always been kind of a rivalry for her so I really can't say anything to her without hurting her.

i sing harmonies at my youth group. we dont have many people who can do harmonies, so i rarely get to do melody.

but i cant get the low notes. i started doing it in my lessons because i asked my teacher for something hard. it took me a few weeks to get the high bit.

I am a tenor 1. People say I have a nice voice, but it is still changing and if something isn't in the really happy zone it can sound pretty bad.

I sing alto. I basically have the vocal range of a man. I can hit high notes but only for a short time.
