She lives here. It's flippin warm today - almost up to freezing AND sunny! - and she went out for a few, but came back quickly.
I know her little habits, I buy her crap, I'm on record at the vet as her "owner", everyone says she's my cat, and she doesn't just cuddle up next to me. Now she puts her paws and head in my lap. Even sat in my lap twice. Sleeps in the bed.
Nobody else will ever fit my criteria for what her new owner has to be. They just wouldn't be good enough for her.
DH and I recently had an argument over whether or not she's the smartest cat that ever lived. (She might be.)
So, I guess she should have a name. I frequently call her "Walter" when she's bad, because she did that Walter Payton thing with a kitten in her mouth while I played blocker with couch cushions. I thought if I was going to call her anything, it'd be "Walter" or "Payton".
But I'm - hell, we are all - accustomed to calling her "Kitty." She's been "kitty" since she showed up in like...July, I think it was. She knows her name is "Kitty."
Has anyone ever changed a cat's name?
I see no problem with "Kitty", but everyone thinks that is a HORRIBLE name and DH keeps saying, "Give that cat a name! It's like calling a dog, 'Dog'!"
Do you have to name animals? Can't she just be "Kitty"????

I have been an idiot and now must lie in the bed I made. How fun.

You could try adding a name to Kitty like "Hi there Walter Kitty."
