why does one have to endure the "Why aren't you dating?" or "Seeing someone?" at a funeral?

Some people have such a gift when it comes to asking questions. :(

For those who don't know, my DH died this past July. My favorite question so far has been, "So, how's your social situation? Any prospects on the horizon?" I don't know that it can get much more crass than that.

The cutest thing (and I know some of you won't understand the 'cuteness' in this) was when my younger bil gave me his blessing to re-marry! Talk about tripping over your words, digging yourself a hole! He said this with love and good wishes. He just doesn't want me to be alone. And I love him for his concern over me. :sunny:

You're correct, some people really know what questions to ask and at just the precise moment they should be asked.

we were known as "Fric and Frac", "Jaws and Claws" The one who opened up my eyes to what a jerk my ex was!

This does not make any sense! Are people that heartless! Can they not see that I am happy without a SO at this time! If and when it should happen, then so be it! But am having way too much fun just pickin' up and goin' whenever, and wherever I please!~

Thanks for letting me vent!

I would just tell him/her that. It the person is truly your friend, he/she probably just wants you to be happy. Maybe he/she does not realize you can be truly happy being alone.

Mathboy, I like that!!

Hi Mathboy!! Nice that you found us, I am sure that Barry, FF, and Mr D will be excited to see you around...I think this threads gets somwhat over run by us females some days! ;) Are you a math teacher? Or do you just really enjoy math?

Hey Barry you don't have to get me drunk! When I get back onto the country we have to talk ;) . Had way way way way way too much to drink tonight. Went to the movie, but skipped out to report on the boards and will be going to bed soon! Went to the singles meet last night and noone showed up! Oh well. At least the Packers won and Vickings lost! Packers are in the playoffs! Looked pretty in pink and got a father/daughter pic taken. Will have to see how it turned out. Later all!

I'm back! :( Frowning at being back home. I had a GREAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT time! :faint: :faint: :faint: :faint: :faint: :faint: :faint: :faint:

Welcome back, PW! Wish we could make it more bearable for you. Glad you're home safe.

Did your ds enjoy his trip? As much as his mama? :p

Couldn't sleep last night. A cold is trying to invade my body. So, I slept late and missed the recycle pick up. What are they doing here so early?! 7:30! I have more recycles than garbge. Am I the only one who feels guilty putting recycles in the garbage? Now I have to keep them piled in my garage another week. Yuk.

Happy Monday! It feels like spring outside. 50's, damp, sun showing itself every so often.

And welcome, MathBoy! The odds are changing! :D

Welcome, Mathboy! I thought I already typed that last night, but I guess I didn't. LOL! Must have been the 4 hour train ride from the Hamptons to DC, the 4 hour wait at the train station, and then the 22 hour train ride from DC to FL! :earseek: :earseek:   :earseek: :earseek: No wonder I'm not too energetic today. And my shoulders hurt from the luggage. :( I forgot the golden rule...pack my bags, then take out half of it because it won't be used! I forgot to do that on the way up!! So I had it all plus what I bought while there...ouch! My shoulders are killing me.

Any way...Mathboy...sounds like you can help me with the Algebra that's going to kill me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :earseek:

Thank you, Vicki! I wish it were more bearable. I really DON'T want to be in FL!!!! I want to be in VA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :teeth: It was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo great to see darling heart throb. He definitely made me faint! :faint: :faint: :faint: :faint: :faint: :faint: :faint: :faint: :faint: Cross your fingers for me...he'll think about doing this again! Wooooooooooooooooooo hooooooooooooooooooo! That alone is promising!!

Oh! DS did not have as good a time as I did. I just loved our 2 days at Williamsburg!! He didn't...too much walking. LOL! He wasn't crazy about all the military stuff either. I WAS! Especially the guys! :faint: He's happy to be back in FL...NOT ME!

Hope you're feeling better soon, Vicki! It's the pitts when you feel like you're getting sick. No, you're not the only one that feels guilty about putting recycle stuff in the garbage. I do too! LOL!

I am so happy for you! Do you think he has any clue you are so gaga over him? As someone who tends to be picky when it comes to men, I know how exciting it is to find one you really like. :D

So, does anyone have fun plans for New Years Eve? My guy and I are having a "quiet night at home" together - his words. :p He is in the middle of preping for his board exam next month so he is a little stressed. Who plans on having a wild night on the town???

LOL! I don't think I even know what that is anymore! My gf invited my family to her home, along with another family. It's movies, spiced cider and perhaps ping pong with 8 children and 5 adults. (I'm not getting used to this third wheel thing, but I hold my head up high, anyway.)

Saturday is our karate party. One of the mom's suggested we bring our own beverages. Think I'll follow her suggestion. So if you think kicking boards in 1/2, hula hooping or dodge ball is a fun way to spend a Saturday, then I'm one swingin' gal! :smooth: The kids really enjoy this party, and it's a night our of the house with other adults. Not the worse thing.

Anyone else? Remind me what it's like to ring in the New Year!

WELL,
guess all my fun will be at WORK again!!!! so hoping for a quiet night then !!!!!!!!!!! I work for a city so car are somewhat slower
than in the county. at times we still need the jaws, just like to see it being one car and a tree. trees never get hurt much,
sorry that its mostly innecant ones that get hurt the most

we just do the best we can. ther was a house fire south of us this morning and two did not make it. older lady and her 40 yr old son. still checking on cause.

well hope everyone stays SAFE !!!! and have a GREAT NEW YEARS

FF, ditto TigerBear! It must be difficult to do what you do, see what you see sometimes. Very courageous. You stay safe, too! :D

Good evening everyone!!

Welllllllllllllllll................so I think things with "friend" are going to be over.....there was some dishonesty about a very stupid thing (in my opinion) but I was involved in a horrible relationship where lying was the NUMBER 1 issue, so I have to be true to myself and stick up for myself, even if that means saying good bye to "friend." But don't all fear! I am not too worse for wear yet! In fact...there may even be a silver lining to this dark cloud! I didn't mention this before...because I have been so fixated on "friend" lately, but there is another guy! ;)

He is a man I work with. Last night I worked an overnight shift 11-6 with 2 of my female co-workers, and they insisted that we (the guy and I) completely flirt with each other all of the time (ok I admit it...it is the truth!!!), and that he stares "mesmerized" at me (even though I have never noticed him staring!!). In fact my manager even took it upon herself to fish around and find out if he was seeing anyone, then to do the same with me...asking me my type and everything. I asked her why she wanted to know and she said that she thought the two of us needed to hook up and that we would make a nice couple!!! I was like :earseek: And then I turned completely bright red and didn't stop blushing for about 20 min while they talked about how much we flirt with each other!!

I'm not sure. He's very smart and picks up right away on clues. :) Sometimes I drop hints.

Well, I'm sure he has a clue. I have said a couple obvious things! ;) :faint: :faint:
