This may be depressing (I may be going through the holiday blues too), but I was thinking maybe I should prepare for a life alone without a mate. The mighty Barry keeps on striking out on dates and maybe I ought to give up. I'm not doing the online dating thing. I either get one or two responses from someone and never hear from them again, or I get ads for sex lines! I don't need either one of these things. I guess I can do a dating service as a last resort, but I'd rather not.

Who has a one bedroom apartment for me that I can put 10 cats in?

(((HUGS))) Barry. If you truly want a life partner I don't think you should ever give up!! Maybe you should ask a trusted friend why he/she thinks things don't work out for you. Are you being too picky? Have you tried something like speed dating where you get to meet many people at one time? Hang in there.

And by the way, what is wrong with a dating service?? I would have no problems joining one!

Hey dear, man can I add to this post! I'm 20 and still single. I was really content for a few months, I felt so much better about being single and then it slowly went downhill from there. I met the most amazing guy while riding the bus one day, I stop riding for three weeks and saw him again a week later. I didn't get his number at the time and he stopped riding, I have no idea what happened to him That special someone will come around someday, right?!
I think I'm going through the holiday blues too. My parents are gone to Hawaii, my brother and his girlfriend are heading out of town and to top it off, my sister told me today that she's heading out to the country with her boyfriend. So it'll be the dog and I, atleast he's pleasant company.

Thanks, Suzanne! We were headed to NASA this morning, but changed plans and went further south exploring. Maybe NASA and Langley tomorrow! I don't want to go back to FL!!!

Suzanne and tmq...knock it off! I would love to, but it's rather impossible at the present time. Besides, I couldn't marry anyone the day before my birthday! Or in the spring...the first time around I was married in May! LOL!

Hang in there, Barry!! It's tough when it takes so long to find someone you're happy with. Why do we have to go through so many duds before finding a good one? My match.com guy is history. He was tooooooooooooooooooooo strange!

Welcome, Jules!! The holidays are so tough. Just this afternoon I was saying to my son that it doesn't feel like Christmas. Could be because we're traveling, but Christmas at home is too depressing! I won't do it any more. I think I should plan a vacation each year for Christmas. DS is getting mixed feelings about my looking for "Mr. Right." LOL! He used to be all for it. Now he's hesitant. Maybe he realizes he'll have to take orders from him, too! LOL! And maybe he notices that at times, not all my attention is focused on him. It's NOT easy! All I know is...Adam had Eve. I don't think we're supposed to be alone either.

I have learned that it's best (for me, at least) not to make major life decisions in the dark of the year. Barry, I'm sure things will pick up for you as the daylight increases. Relax, be yourself. Someone told me once that the best way to bring someone special into your life is to begin to make your life special. So, find things and activities that bring you joy and then spread that joy out into the world. Easier said than done, I realize.

Well slow night here at work. took half the day off and had my two. they seemed happy . well another work day for me and tommorrow too. So there are others out there !!!!!! and its not just me.....
Did everyone return form W D W yet ?????? light rain here today now temps are dropping low!!!!!!!! up to 5 " of snow to the north of me. lots of sad times at this time of the year. our rescue calls are sometimes just the elderly wanting some to talk to. there are 2 that I told I would stop by and visit with them on christmas day. want to bet they will be waiting for me ???
One was born on 01 - 07 - 07 I told her when she turns 100 I'll be there too.
SAD times in many ways my mother past away on 01 - 11 shes been gone for 6 years now... her proudest times was when I was home and wear my dress blues . like I didn't spend enough time in uniform. now I wish it had been many more.....

well anyways. everyone has good and bad days. if all the days where good what would we do???????
thats my thing is when my kids are on there own what will I be working for??????? oh well
it is bad not to have someone around just to cuddle talk too be with or other things to. ITs very hard to snuggle with no one.
anyone want to be my snuggles partner ?????????????????

Barry you are young and just isn't your time yet. Trust me, the right gal is out there for you. Just remember that good things come to those that wait. And sometimes it's the waiting and the waiting and the waiting that kills you! Also remember that it's better to by alone than to be with the wrong person. I was with the wrong person way to long and wouldn't wish anyone through that. Your in school, so concentrate on that right now and everything will fall into place.

Brianna finally went to sleep so Santa ate his cookie and left the presents out. All ready for Christmas morning. I know she'll be up at the crack of dawn!
