Okay...I've Called the Late Night DISers, Now I'm Calling the Single DISers (Part 2)

:grouphug: Legs. Sorry to hear about the job. Keep your chin up! Something will come along. :)

I'm sorry to hear that, Legs! But you know what...it wasn't the right one for YOU! A better one suited to you will come up. :) Hang in there! And thanks! I'll have to call this realtor if I don't hear from her soon. Tomorrow might be good in the morning when I'm trapped at the car dealership for an oil change.

Hi, Bea! :wave2:

Anyone else lurking? ;)

Thanks PW & Bea :)

Picked up a pizza and dd, then ate dinner at a beautiful park on the river.

EHarmony ends this month and I just got a match near me that immediately requested info. He sounds really good. Only thing wrong........he didn't have a photo of himself posted. I think that the guys who do that aren't the best looking specimens out there. But I am taking my chances and started communicating.

Going to see Wonka tomorrow. Loved Johnny Depp since Gilbert Grape and Edward Scissorhands.

Oooooooooooooooooooooo...I bet dinner at the park on the river was nice!! Did your DD like it? :)Good for you for starting communication with the guy. Maybe his pic will show up at some point...after questions, etc. You do wonder though. I think e-harmony likes to get one last one in before a membership expires. LOL! Hope it's a good one for you. :)

Enjoy the movie!

Good luck with the match, Legs! Keep us updated! ;) Let us know how you liked the movie, I haven't decided whether or not I'm going to go see this one. I loved the old version.

I think my DD and I will go to a pottery place near me tomorrow to paint, we've done this a few times and it's a nice mother/daughter time for us and she's getting really good! :)

The guy I'm dating came over tonight for dinner, lasagna, the first time I've ever made it, and I'm afraid to say it didn't turn out all that well. :( Well, for the most part it was okay, but the top was really hard for some reason? :confused3 I dunno, he knows that I don't cook that much (for this very reason!!) and I warned him that this is the first time I made lasagna. He said it was good anyways, I think he was trying to be nice. Sometimes I wonder if I'm trying too hard?

Must be going well...Legs hasn't checked in. :smooth:

Congrats on the lasagna, Bea! I wouldn't even attempt it. I don't know how to keep the top from getting dried/burned. :( My mom always made our favorite food for dinner on our birthdays. I think lasagna was almost always what I asked for...since she only made it about twice a year otherwise.

Did you go to the pottery place?

We are still communicating! We are in the open ended questions stage. Still haven't seen a picture though.

:wave2:

Legs~How exciting! I remember how I felt when I was communicating with the guy I met on eharmony. I saw his picture from the start (part of the reason why I started communication! ;) ) and he didn't see mine until we reached open communication.

PW~Yes, we went to the pottery place. I painted a tile with a picture of Kokopelli on it for the guy I'm seeing, he collects Kokopelli things. I'm going to have it mounted on a wooden box for him, I hope he likes it. :hyper: I'm going tomorrow to see if it's done yet and have them mount it for me.

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, Legs! After all the communication, I hope he looks like a prince for you! :)

Sounds like a great gift he'll like, Bea! :goodvibes

Same old stuff here. :rolleyes2 Having fun geocaching...tomorrow its along a beach! There's eight of them at various places. But I still miss the companionship of an adult. :( Make that a male adult specifically. :( Ugh.

Oh...was supposed to meet with a realtor tomorrow. Just my luck her aunt died and she's off to New York. :( Feel bad for her, I understand. BUT I REALLY want to MOVE!!! :faint: Not long until the 31st for the pups.

The pottery seems like a fun thing to do with dd. I don't think they have one around here though. What is a Kokopelli?

Is there another realtor you can meet with? How long will this one be gone? I'm sure you're feeling a tremendous amount of pressure right now with 8 days left to move.

I'd like to work with her since a DISer recommended her. They worked in the same office previously, and this realtor just sold a home to the DISer. :) She did say that normally, they would tell the person who runs the show, but that's her sister and is going also. I'd rather stick with her. Will have to make arrangements for dogs in the meantime. I really wasn't expecting to be out and in something else so quickly any way. Hmmmmmmmmm...maybe I'll call my sister tonight.

Had a match from eharmony. See if this one goes anywhere. Why do I join for one month just because the guy sounds nice, has good writing skills, is the same age, lives in the city I work in? :) Another one without a picture, Legs! :confused3

:wave2: guys!

Legs~No, he didn't ask to see my picture when we got into open communication. At the beginning, I wasn't sure how the picture thing worked, so I chose "reveal at a later date". After I reached open communication with this guy I selected "show my picture when we reach open communication". We had emailed a few times before I did that and he got to see my picture. He said he was pleasantly surprised when he saw my picture but has told me since that I look nothing like the picture I posted! Ha, ha...he said that was not a bad thing, I look good both ways. :lovestruc

DD and I enjoy the pottery place. I just checked today and the tile turned out AWESOME!!! :hyper: I can pick it up tomorrow, they mounted it today. The girl that got it for me said, "Oh! You're the one who made this! We were amazed when it came out of the kiln!" That made me feel all :goodvibes . I'll try to describe it, it's a silhouette of Kokopelli in front of a rising moon, he's standing on a cliff. On the other side of the cliff is the setting sun, yellow, orange, red, purple, blue...fading into a black sky that is dotted with stars, and within the stars is another Kokopelli...playing back to the one on the cliff. :) I can't wait to give it to him and see his reaction. :hyper:

To answer your question about who Kokopelli is, I found this info on the net...

Ko-ko-pel-li (kô kô pel´ lê) n. {der. Hopi "kokopilau" (koko = wood, pilau = hump)} the humpbacked Flute Player, mythical Hopi symbol of fertility, replenishment, music, dance, and mischief.

The mysterious Kokopelli character is found in a number of Native American cultures, being especially prominent in the Anazasi culture of the "Four Corners" area. The figure represents a mischievous trickster or the Minstrel, spirit of music. Kokopelli is distinguished by his dancing pose, a hunchback and flute. His whimsical nature, charitable deeds, and vital spirit give him a prominent position in Native American mysticism.

Kokopelli has been a sacred figure to Native Americans of the Southwestern United States for thousands of years. Found painted and carved on rock walls and boulders throughout this region, Kokopelli is one of the most intriguing and widespread images to have survived from ancient Anasazi Indian mythology, and is a prominent figure in Hopi and Zuni legends. Kokopelli is also revered by current-day descendants including the Hopi, Taos and Acoma pueblo peoples.

Kokopelli is considered a symbol of fertility who brought well-being to the people, assuring success in hunting, planting and growing crops, and human conception. His "hump" was often considered a bag of gifts, a sack carrying the seeds of plants and flowers he would scatter every spring. Warming the earth by playing his flute and singing songs, Kokopelli would melt the winter snow and create rain, ensuring a good harvest.

The guy I'm seeing relates to Kokopelli because he is a musician. I'm going to try and post a picture of Kokopelli for you...

PW~ Sending you :wizard: that you hear from the realtor soon! I know, August is just around the corner... :scared: I'm also sending :goodvibes your way in regards to eharmony!

BB, that sounds just beautiful! I bet he will love it. He's not Native American is he? We're actually going to New Mexico next month and saying at a resort on an Indian reservation. I'm so excited! :sunny:

Legs & Sandy, lots of :wizard: and :goodvibes coming your way that the eharmony guys will be winners!

TB~ Thank you! No, he's not Native American. He's 1/2 Hispanic, 1/2 Caucasian. How long are you going to New Mexico for? That sounds nice, the furthest out west I've been is Missouri, unless you count Texas. :P

We are just going for a long weekend (Friday - Sunday). I definitely think Texas is more "West" than Missouri! We went to Yellowstone last summer and absolutely loved it. Jackson, Wyoming is the most amazing Western town I have ever been in.

I"m back in the internet world. Took me this long to get my DSL working and still don't have the router thingy working. Lots have been happening with all of you. Tigerbear, how is it working with you and bf? PW {{HUGS}} for having to move so soon again. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! Legs good luck in finding a new job. I have a job interview Wed for with the home shopping network that I can do from home. Need that second job with the child support checks NOT coming in, but then that is a whole another story.

We are all moved in at our new apartment. Just moved 6.13 miles, so not too far. DD had her first day at camp which is at her school. I think she was happy to be back. I went back to work part of last week and will go in a couple of hours tomorrow. THen Wed, I have no choice and it's back to work. Hard to believe that the summer just flew by.

Bea...the art sounds interesting!! I also think your bf will like it. :) And thank you!

TigerBear...Thank you! Not a word back yet. LOLOLOLOL! Is no news better than being closed out? :confused3 :rotfl2:

Suzanne...Great to have you back! Glad you and DD are settled. Good luck with the second job...hope it comes through for you. I'm sure it will. :)

Back to school already? :faint: I don't want to think about that. I was near your old stomping grounds the other day I think, Suzanne. Was it Derozier you attended? Am I close on that? We were visiting a couple people in townhouses behind the school.

I went to Dozier Middles School a couple of years before my df moved us again. Ahhh...the life of an air force brat.
