Okay...I've Called the Late Night DISers, Now I'm Calling the Single DISers (Part 2)

LOL! Figuring out the DBF(s) can be very tough. I don't know. The thought of new ones is overwhelming. It's so much work!!!! Nice if it all works out, but these days I see it more as if it doesn't, how much time have I wasted?! Ack! So I guess that's why I'm quick to not even bother with some. Just seems like it will be wasted time. A guy from Match sent me a note. He said he knows he's not the physical "looking" type I like...like that's number one on my list , but that's not most important. I read his profile. Well, I'm not the horseback riding and camping type...things he loves to do and does it almost every weekend. I HATE camping! DH was a camper and hunter. Not once did I ever go with him. Come to think of it, he didn't do them at all during the time we were married. No, need more things in common with someone.

Yep - shared activities are very important. I think it is perfectly fine, good even, if partners have outside interests, but how could this guy work for you if he camps every weekend and you don't like camping? So how narrow a physical type did you specify?

He even mentioned that he likes a female who can get the truck and horses all arranged if he's not there. NOPE! That's not me. If anything, I'd be afraid of those BIG horses!! I think the last time I rode a horse I was in probably 7th grade. And I wanted the slowest horse they had.

Physical type? Average, toned, or athletic. I would even be okay with "a few extra pounds," but that seems to be where the out of shape ones come in to play. After DH not taking care of himself and what happened, I can't go to the couch potatoes. And he MUST be a non-smoker.

You have me ROTFL with that one! With such a specific interest I think this guy is much better off finding a woman who likes - make that REALLY likes horses. :teeth:

So you think this guy is chunky and that is why he said he didn't fit your type? I'm just trying to figure out his opening line to you. I totally agree with you on the non-smoking and that he needs to take care of himself.

His profile even said he wants to meet someone with common interests. So right off the bat I couldn't figure out why he wrote to me because I surely didn't mention horses or camping! LOL!

He has three pictures of himself on there. I'd say he has more than a few extra pounds. Not horribly overweight, but you can see by reading the rest of the profile...what foods he likes, that he rarely exercises.

Several months back some other guy from a different site contacted me. He lived somewhere in the mountains in NC or SC. I love to "visit" the mountains, but I can't live there!! LOL! I'm a "beach" person! I've been to Virginia Beach numerous times, but I haven't been to the mountains yet. :teeth: I need a beach and water guy. ;)

Ugh! Sunday night again. This seems to be the toughest night of the week.

What I am dreading is dinner tonight. I am so sick of eating lean cuisine. Since I have to keep the house in perfect condition to show it (ha ha) I haven't been cooking for myself. I may actually go get take out. I wish you would be closer so we could have dinner together.

I hate Sunday nights because I dread going to work on Monday:(

I spent the day by myself. I finished reading the newspaper. Then I went to Target and got dd some Christmas presents. When I got home I took down the ceiling fan in the garage and tried to install a light fixture in it's place. There were too many wires coming out of the ceiling  Plus it was getting dark and I was starving. So I didn't get to finish. Time goes by so fast. I am so tempted to call in sick tomorrow since dd's dad is taking her to school. I could use a mental health day. I don't feel like I'm doing too well in that department:crazy:

I just found an email from the interview doc on my yahoo mail. He wrote it Thurs. and it said to call him Thurs. night to let him know what I thought of the interview. Great! I see the email 3 days later! He also asked if I knew about the organizational changes. If not we should discuss that.
What the heck does that mean????

I made a curried chicken salad and a curried carrot soup this evening after my light fixture experience. Haven't tried either one yet. I got them both from Oprah magazine.

I hear you on the lean cuisine! Actually, tonight I had weight watchers salsbury steak. Dinner together would be fun! :) I don't get enough "girl talk" either. :( Why else am I on these boards all the time?

Legs...your dinner sounds great! Where's the midpoint for the three of us? :teeth: Congrats on getting the ceiling fan down. Maybe in day light you can get the light done. You're good with this stuff!!! So tell me...what do I do about a towel bar coming out of the wall. What do they call those things you put in first, anchors? It's coming out of my wall and looks like it will leave a nice sized hole there. I looked at a few books in B&N hoping to find something about it. No luck! :( I may have to go to Home Depot and ask them. :earseek: You just found the e-mail today? :earseek: Ouch! Have you replied to it now? Maybe call tomorrow and explain you just read it. Sure don't want him to think you're not interested. Organizational changes?

I actually made a real dinner tonight. Some chicken quesadillas for dinner with a pineapple lettuce salad. Was really good.

Had a blast at wdw. Took my mom for her b-day with my DD. It was nice and so relaxing. Now back to reality tomorrow. We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge and the neat thing was DD is studying Indians in school and was able to see all the stuff they had there.

Legs...I know how you feel. DD's father acts like that and I want to say how dare you, but it's his choice and I can't do anything about. Wished he would spend more one on one time with her, but he won't.

Glad you had a great time at Disney FM. Wonder if PA enjoyed Disneyland? When we went to California Adventure two years ago my brother and I enjoyed a couple glasses of wine from the Mondavi wine exhibit (I believe it was Mondavi) and then we went on Soarin Over California. Talk about fun! :p

Ok - I think everyone's dinner was better than mine, even yours PW. Guess what I had? Angel hair pasta. Plain - as in literally nothing on it. Yucky. I really need to go to the grocery store. Lean cuisine is definitely better even if I am sick of it. How did the curried chicken salad turn out Legs?

Interesting email Legs. He should have called - or notified you to expect an email.

Hi everyone! I think I am always alittle behind all of you being that I am in a different time zone!

TB-Loved the idea of the print for you DBF gift especially since you spent time there together! Perfect idea!

PW-You know almost every man here in Denver loves to camp, fish, hike...you name it. I'm ok for some of that but not all the time! I am really a 'real bathroom' type of person. DBF and I have a lot in common and do a lot together which is something I have never had. My ex didn't like to do anything that I did. I took up golf so we might have something to do together..well I really hated it and he did not like to go with me. So it is important to me to have a lot in common. Hearing about your latest contact on Match and him saying that he might not be your type physically reminded me that when my DBF first IM'd me from Match his first sentence to me was "I wish I were 6 years older" because in my profile my age range was 42-50 and he was 36.

I am trying to cook for us. I really don't like to cook but I need to. The other night my DD (who is 15 - TB) said we really need to eat healthier mom. I said you mean popcorn and candy aren't healthy?! I am embarrased to have admited that to you all!

Legs-Another light project? Wish I were that brave! I want to change the light above my dining room table but have no idea where to start! PW-It sounds like you will need anchor screws to keep the towel rack in the wall. I've used them before and they really do work but they do leave big holes in the wall but how often are you going to remove the towel bar?

Just saw on the news that a Marine from my neighborhood was killed in Iraq today...sigh....

Good night all...you are all probably already there!

The sauce has a good flavor.

I noticed the time on his email. He wrote it while I was there interviewing with the nurse manager in the office next door.

TB- I had thought you already sold your house, moved, and was living in an apt. now.

CM- I usually don't do well in the cooking dept either. Too much macaroni and cheese and peanut butter.

I called the interview doc last night and left a message.

Your dinner sounds delicious, Suzanne. Glad you had a good time at WDW. :)

TigerBear...plain angel hair? :scratchin I love angel hair but don't think I could swallow it plain!! LOL! Actually, I haven't touched it since we lived in FL. Cutting back on carbs got me to toss the pasta basically. I do get some in soups and other places. Like today's "healthy" (cough, cough) lunch...Progresso 99% fat-free chicken noodle soup. Add in reduced-fat bologna  and a banana.

Vicki...Thanks for the tip! I will be sure to keep away from Colorado! :hyper: And I would much rather go a bit younger than older. When anyone talks of grandkids, they're gone!! :earseek: I'm not there yet and I'm not in any rush! So sorry to hear about the marine, Vicki. :( Not this past weekend but the one before, a soldier from DHT's post was killed over there. :( There was a service at the post this past Thursday. And the anchor screw is coming out of the wall. I'm going to put another one in? Can we use cement and be done with it? :)

Legs...Peanut butter is one of my "red light" foods. I can't touch it at all or it's completely gone. I won't even lick one little bite. Glad you called the interview doc. Check your e-mail. I wouldn't put it past him to e-mail you again rather than call.

I had a call this morning about a job. I was excited, now I'm not so thrilled. LOL! It's not in my general area except that I'd be in an office. This would be in Shareholder Services for a mutual fund/ etc., etc., etc. company. About 75% of it would be incoming calls and 25% online, all doing transactions. The salary is in the ballpark. Driving will be a pain since everyone goes in the same direction during rush hour. I just did a part of the drive this morning just after 7. Yikes!! It's not fun! But I know it's a great company and have actually had their funds for about 10 years myself. And it would require 6-9 months of training! I'm all for training, but another 6-9 months without a check? Paying for health insurance alone continuing that long.   Ack! Tomorrow I'll have a 45 minute phone interview with this person. If all goes well, then an office interview. Will have to get straight where the training and hiring come in. Geez! Why are Admin Asst. jobs so hard to come by these days with a zillion of us out there looking for them also! Vent over for now.

I wish Legs! I just lowered the asking price last week. I did have a second showing on Saturday so we will see. My realtor is also doing another open house on Sunday. The pooches will get to go to the beach again - but there is no way Mr. Tramp will convince me to let him off the leash again. ;)

PW, are you sure the training period is not paid? That is a long time for anyone to go without a paycheck.

CM - I'm like you. I enjoy hiking and I love the mountains - but I don't think I could take it every weekend.

That's one of my questions I'll have to have answered. I was writing when he was talking to me about training, office interview, and hiring. I didn't quite get the order. I'm sure the office interview would be first. I thought he said training then see about hiring. But that doesn't make any sense to me. Why train someone unless you've hired them or will hire them for sure? Right away I thought of it as being paid while training. Then I started questioning it myself. I'll have to talk to him about it tomorrow afternoon.

The other day I received mail from a realtor in my former FL development. Many of the homes are going for $300,000+!! Holy cow! I don't think my specific "neighborhood" goes that high. Unfortunately, the guy's report was run starting the month after mine sold. Guess he didn't want anything lower in price showing up. But there is a place on my former street that was for sale the same time as mine. And it's still for sale!! My realtor said there's no way the guy will sell it at the price he's asking. Something ridiculous like $600,000 for a 4 bedroom. Didn't even know there was a 4 bedroom on the street. Just 2 and 3 bedrooms. But this guy did a LOT to it! He redid the kitchen and put stone or marble in it. I forget what. Did major things around the place. Goes to show you the realtors are right. Don't drop money into it thinking you'll get a bunch more when you sell. You don't. One even told me don't put a pool in because the expense of it would never come back to me when I sold. And it might even be seen as a liability and will make the homeowner's insurance more. True. The guy that bought my place is putting one in. :teeth: Good luck, TigerBear!! Hope yours sells soon without having to drop the price more.
