Okay...I've Called the Late Night DISers, Now I'm Calling the Single DISers (Part 2)

PW....OMG....HOpefully he'll pay really fast too. Can't believe that happened!

Yes, let's hope he pays quickly. Think he should also cover the plastic sheeting and tape! Hmmm...

Hopefully, today will be much better. There's a block party in the development at the park. Yipeeee! Maybe we'll meet some people. :)

Parties with my neighbors are always fun.

We went bowling today which was load of fun. I didn't even use the bumpers that much. Pretty good for not bowling in years. Brianna had a blast. Tired of the rain though.

My air conditioner is broke. UGH!! I had a repairman out on Friday to the tune of over $400 - and last night it broke again. I guess I should be thankful that the company is willing to come back on a Sunday. I'm scared it will be the big bucks this time.

Sorry PW about the golf ball incident. That is just freaky. Have fun tonight!

I haven't been bowling in years! Sounds like fun FM.

Our final weigh-in was Friday night. DBF won of course. He lost 4 pounds and I lost 3.5 pounds. He chose to have dinner at one of the places I wanted to go (Sambucca Jazz Cafe) which I thought was very sweet! :D He had even made a reservation.

My new thing is yoga. I bought a couple DVDs that I am really enjoying! DBF even did yoga with me on Saturday.

Did you send the rain up here, Suzanne? Had some overnight and today it's overcast. Hmmm. I had heard rain for today. Glad I got the plastic over the window yesterday afternoon!

Bumper bowling! Richard used to love it when he was little. Thanks for the idea...we'll have to go soon. ;)

Texas...in the summer...without A/C! Ugh! :faint: I feel for you, TigerBear! Good thing they're sending someone out today. I'll cross my fingers they fix it and it stays! (Don't these lovely, EXPENSIVE things happen as your considering making a move?) For me it was replacing the meter on the outside of the house just 3 months before moving...$500! :faint:

Oh, the golfers! Yesterday afternoon Richard and I heard a noise. First thought was...a golf ball! This time one hit the siding on the house...not so bad. I can live with that...just get used to dents in the siding. This guy came over and asked if things were okay. Yes. :) He was cute!! Don't know if he was single. Hmmm...maybe this is a way to meet guys! :teeth:

Hope you and DBF enjoyed dinner! Congrats to both of you on the weight loss!! :)

Pin Wizard,

My apartment is on a golf course and I can relate hearing strange sounds....golf balls hitting the building! Luckily I haven't had any broken windows. Knock on wood! I love to watch the golfers while sitting on my deck but I always try to watch for those darn flying golf balls! I have found a couple of golf balls on my deck.

Vicki

Do you have a collection of golf balls now, Vicki? :) Every time one comes over, Richard wants to know if he can keep it. I know some people have a large container they throw change in. I should start one for the golf balls. Ha! ;) He's gotten a few. Of course, not while anyone is playing. Usually in the evenings when we're outside he'll occasionally find one.

I'd rather be watching guys in a military gym! :faint: :smooth: :teeth: :cloud9:  :lovestruc

We do have a collection! There are always several golf balls at the end of the day below our deck in the rough. Maybe I could go over to the golf course and sell them for range balls!

Hmmmm....I've never been to a military gym....but I can imagine that it must be a nice place to hang out for a while! ;)

LOL! Richard has thought to sell them also. ;)

Well, I've never been to a military gym either. Never even thought about them existing until I was on a base. Saw they had a gym. :lovestruc I have a friend in the military, and I know how great he looks. :faint: :lovestruc I can just imagine a gym full of guys looking like that!!! :faint: :faint: :lovestruc

Hi,
I'm back. Thanks for your good wishes. Denver was cloudy and rainy. Had a mountain view room but couldn't see any mountains. But this morning was sunny with blue skies and I got to see them. The hotel room had sort of a bay window with a window seat. So I brewed some Starbucks in the room and sat on the window seat looking out at the mountains:D
Before I left for Denver I had a big water leak in the garage. It was either the washer or the air handler. I shut the washer hoses off but still had leaking. So it was the air handler. Tonight I get back and it's like an oven in the house. Outside unit does not go on. I met a girl at the meeting in Denver who suggested turning on the outside water hose, kink it, then put it in the outside a/c pipe that normally drips water to blast out any blockage (Her brother is an a/c guy). I think that pipe got plugged up so the water backed up and leaked at the air handler. So there I was in the dark tonight blasting water up that pipe. Still the outside unit did not go on. So as a desparate last resort I turned the breaker in the main fuse box on and off for the a/c unit. And that did it. The outside unit came on and started blowing cold air. Thank goodness!!!!
Anyway, I'm totally not glad to be home (except to see my dd).

Sounds like some gorgeous scenery, Legs! A window seat looking at the mountains! Wow...what a change from Florida! :)

Sorry about the A/C problems. That was pretty lucky running into someone there who knows about that stuff! Glad it finally worked for you!!

Hopefully you fixed the problem Leggs...sounds like scenery was great.

Gym....what's that? Haven't stepped a foot into one of the those in years.

I haven't either! My dd is always trying to get me to go with her....the little, athletic thing! I should take a clue from her and get my tennis shoes on and go with her....maybe next week! She is visiting her dad for a couple of weeks. Maybe I'll surprise her and start before she gets back.

Legs~Sorry the weather wasn't great while you were here. Today it is supposed to be in the 90's and then rainy and cooler into the weekend. Wouldn't you know it! How did you like the Westin? Did you get to get out and do anything?

Well, back to the job search...I don't think I have mentioned this here but the company that I used to work for is restructuring and therefore my position was eliminated. I got my last pay check a week ago. Thank goodness I am a saver and have saved some for a rainy day...I just hate to use my 'nest egg' to live on! It's supposed to be for our vacation fund for WDW! It's a little unnerving not having a job! I have always had a job when I needed one. I had a good interview on Friday so I am keeping my fingers crossed. It was with a company that I really would like to work for and it is similar to the position I had with my previous employer. I have an interview today with a headhunter so we'll see what happens.

Happy Monday everyone!

Vicki

Good luck with the job search!
The Westin was nice. They have great beds called Heavenly beds with down comforters and pillows. So I slept really well. On Friday, I walked down 16th St. to the Pavillions and went shopping. On Saturday evening the whole group went by bus to the Cool River Cafe and had a great dinner.

I really need to do some form of exercise. I am gaining weight around my midsection. I never had to worry about my weight and my mom said she never did either until she hit her 40's.

TB- How's your A/C?

PW- Those golfballs would drive me crazy. Did you get your window fixed today?

I am home today. DD is sick. Fever, headache, cough, stuffy nose.

Oh, I forgot to mention the Denver Airport. The line to get through security is one of the largest I have ever encountered. Unbelievable!
After security, you have to get on a train to get to your terminal. Very time consuming. If anyone ever flies out of Denver- allow yourself enough time for all this.

After I arrived in Denver, I had to take a train to the baggage claim area. It is located a good distance from the terminals. In other airports you just go downstairs and you're at baggage claim.

Legs, I'm glad you had a good trip. You sound very resourceful! Hope your dd feels better soon.

CoMickey, best of luck with the job search! Fingers and toes crossed. ;)

The AC guy ended up only calling yesterday. He thinks the breaker may need to be changed out and upgraded. So, I have an electrician coming out this afternoon. The AC is currently working - so lets see how long it will last.

I'm off to buy day hiking shoes. I tried on several pairs of hiking boots but didn't like how they feel on my ankle. We are debating whether we can do a hiking trail in the Grand Tetons that is my brother's absolute favorite anywhere. Its a 3000 foot elevation change in 4 miles - rated "difficult". My brother said that if we only make it half way it will be worth it because of the views! I have a feeling we'll end up going with something easier in the Tetons.

We watch In the Cut last night. It was actually wierd to see Meg Ryan naked and in such sexual scenes. I always think of her as kind of the girl next door. Has anyone seen it?

You are correct in that DIA is very time consuming! I always plan to be at the aiport 2 hours prior to flying. The security lines are very unpredictible...sometimes they are short and others very long. You flew on the busiest day in the history of the airport according to the news. They said that 133,000 people flew through DIA yesterday!! I am always worried that somthing will happen to the electicity and I'll be stuck on one of those trains!!!

I think the main terminal is very unique but it is just all just too big! Now that my dd is 15 she doesn't want me to get a special pass to go to the gate with her....I always worry about her because it is confusing...but she's getting to be quite the pro since her dad lives in Phoenix.
