No A/C in Houston? I was there for a sales meeting last year in Aug. and it was so hot! I could move to Houston if I wanted to relocate. The corporate office of my previous employer is there and they said that they would hire me in a second if I wanted to relocate. You know I would consider it but I just don't want to uproot my dd at this time in her life...the divorce was hard on her and she is now doing great in school so no move for me unless of course we have to live in a "van down by the river", then I'll have to do what I have to do!

Legs...Have an estimate for the window between 2:30 and 3:00 today. There was another company I called who said they could probably get to me for one today. Haven't heard from them. Is this Florida?

TigerBear... I just can't imagine Meg Ryan doing that! I think it's one I'll be passing on. You're right...she's the girl next door.

Vicki... A van down by the river? LOLOL! I haven't seen that thread in a while. We just moved in March ourselves. Timing stunk since I was taking classes at college and DS was in school. What can you do...when you have a buyer, you sell!

The electrician said that he would be here late this afternoon and that he would call first. I was home by 1:00 with a bill in my mailbox. Is it just me or is before 1:00 not late afternoon? He changed the breaker - but when I went in the house I had no electricity. So, I flip the entire main breaker to see if that will work. Nope - still no electricity. I call the electrician who then tells me that no one in my neighborhood has electricity right now. Sure enough - the street past mine is actually blocked off with firetrucks and multiple service guys. This is just not my week. Hopefully they will get it turned on soon or I'll be visiting DBF yet again tonight. I wish he lived closer. I wonder what my poor dogs think.

Only 30 minutes left on my laptop battery....

Maybe both of you will get these jobs!

How did you choose the a/c company? Word of mouth or right out of the phone book? I need to have someone check mine. I have condensation on the outside of the air handler.

Legs...Do you need an electrician or an A/C guy? I used to use Above Air for my A/C...was always happy with them. Electrician...couldn't tell you. I don't remember the name of the guy I used, but he was on Boca Rio Rd. in Boca...don't use him. LOL!

PW~I will keep my fingers crossed for you on one hand and on the other for me! Like you I would really like this job if I get it. They will pay me more than I have ever made in my life and they have great benifits. It is with a company that provides online booking applications for hotels and resorts. It is similar to what I was doing but this company really seems to have their act together. What type of job are you applying for? Good luck! We'll celebrate together...virtually when we get new jobs!

TB~Here's hoping you get electricity soon! Must be miserable for you and for your poor dogs! It is 90 here today and they are predicting rolling black outs...keeping my fingers crossed that it is not in my area! We are really whimps when it come so to heat here. I love the heat but so many people don't...I complian when it is cold they complain when it is hot. Never happy I guess!

Legs and fingers and anything else that I can cross is crossed for us! I jump everytime the phone rings. I do know that they have called my references...that might be a good sign!

I am so bored not working! Can't believe I would ever say that!

I'm going to the Rockies baseball game tonight...something to keep my mind occupied!

Electricity and AC are finally working!! YEA!! I actually felt more sorry for my doggies. I slept at my boyfriend's the last two nights and escaped during the day by shopping. He offered to have us all come over to his apartment but I don't think that would have worked out too well. I took Mr. Tramp once and he basically freaked out - didn't even want to sleep.

Anyone want to join me for a margarita? We could toast to wish PW and CM good luck!

I used them two years ago but can't remember how I found them. Probably straight out of the phone book if I had to guess. Hopefully it is nothing major. I have a coil that will probably need replacing within a year - almost 1000K. I hope to be out of here by then.

Bored? Yes. But I had been so stressed out at work for so long that I'm still enjoying boredom! LOL! I had my job 8 years. Quit and went to school. Sold house and moved. Think I like MAJOR changes? LOL!

YEAA! Glad the electricity and A/C are working! Your poor little pups! They must be thrilled to have a cool house again.

Sorry, Legs. Before I was just thinking that it's been really quiet lately...not much e-mail, no phone calls. Hmmm...had a call from a friend in FL that I missed. I'm calling her back! Hope you're feeling better soon. Hmmm...maybe let down after being away a couple days.

PW~Major change....what is that? LOL! My life was so 'normal' for 19 years then I decided to go back to college, we sold our farm (yep, I'm actually a farm girl), moved to Denver...then 5 years later got the divorce....started dating (that's a whole new experience!), and raising my dd alone since her dad decided to move to Phoenix....our lives seem a little similar in that we have made some major changes in recent years. But I think change only has made me stronger. What do you think?

TB~Glad that you and the dogs are cool again! I will take you up on a nice cold Margarita! I'll offer my deck if you'd like!

Legs~Sorry you were having a lonely night. I might be having those soon myself. DBF and I had a long talk last night and if things don't change with some issues he has I will be living alone once again. I have mixed feelings on that one....in some ways it will be a relief not to have to worry about his moods....he's ADD and often negative and depressed...how'd I get myself into this one??? Don't get me wrong he is wonderful to me, most of the time, but he is always negative and I don't need that...I am usually positive and always see the glass half full instead of half empy which is how he sees things. Oh, well enough of that....

Yup, I think everyone here has had major changes. I'm definitely stronger, I'm also exhausted! I'm sick of doing everything alone with all the responsibility. It was okay for the most part, but it's been too long now at 11 1/2 years! I keep making changes, but it's not the one in particular I'm looking for. Although this last change with moving was the best so far!

Oh yeah. Major changes here too. I get overwhelmed sometimes doing it all by myself. It drives me nuts when I hear this married mom at my work talk about her husband or her parents helping by picking up the kids from school and taking them to after school activities and then she can't handle working full time so she is only working 4 days a week. Ugh! Try doing everything by yourself!
