Anyone have advice on a good, effective rain-dance? We're seal-coating the driveway at work, and if it rains, the sealing project will be postponed (translation: I won't have to do it)

Anyone heard from MickeysDisneyPrincess lately? I know she was having some computer problems, guessing they're still happening.

Have your car washed and waxed.

Come to think of it, I haven't heard anything from MDP.

Legs...Three Cosmos? What are they? That's a new one on me. :)

Wolf...You want rain? South...or East...of us here, they had 18 inches of rain dumped from a tornado/water spout. Hmmm...shall I send one over if there's another? (I have heard of people having a major time with North, South, East, and West in FL...found that easy. But here it's nuts! If I'm going East on the Interstate, how can an exit for a road going across the highway as opposed to running parallel also be East/West?

I see you're not a Sex and the City fan. A Cosmo is a Cosmopolitan martini.
Which reminds me, the reruns are on Tues. & Wed. nights on TBS.

Oye! Lets see here is a recap on the last two weeks.

Finals:
no i did not get the video project done yet, but i have a REALLY understanding teacher and i have till next week to finish. The rest of my classes I got 3 A's and a B not bad. I am happy.

Computer:
Ugh! Still not online at home going to seriously start yelling at someone if hey don't do something. My friend "was" going to fix it. HA! Well I am done waiting for him he is irritating me now! Grr! Just let me call SBC.

Six Flags Great America:
Chris and i went to Six Flags. I had more fun with him there then i have had in the past with other people. I was so wore out by the end of that day. :)

The 4th:
On the 2nd Chris and I went the fireworks by his Aunt and Uncle's house. The were nice. I like spending time with them. (He thinks of them as more parents then his mother... long story I am not getting into) On the 3rd Chris and I both had to work, after work we went to my mom to visit with her and watch the NASCAR race. (Which if any of you follow them Jeff Gordon won... good for Chris not for me) Then we just went home, uh to my house. On the 4th, Chris had to work so during the day i went to visit with my dad, step-mom and sister for awhile. I also visited with my friend Carrie. Then at 4 I went by my mom and that side of my family and watched the parade. After the parade i went to meet up with Chris and we went to his aunt and uncles and the we went to Oak Fest and walked around for a bit and watched the fireworks. They were very nice. After the fireworks we went back to his Aunt and Uncle's and Chris lit off some fireworks, those were pretty cool too!

My car: Then we finally got around to fixing my car. YEA! tune up and new brakes. :)

This past weekend... We had plans for friday to go to practice and qualifying to the Tropicana 400 since the race was in Chicago this weekend. We went in the morning and watched practice well it rained so there was a rain delay. In racing the rain delay is on until the track is COMPLETELY dry and safe. During the rain delay, Chris' ex-wife (Sue) calls, "You better be here at 6 to pick them up or I'm going home! I don't care if there is a rain delay." Chris, "Ok but I thought we could be more adult about this kind of stuff and work this out." Sue "Well I have written down all the times that you pick them up and if i have to i will take you back to court." (She held the girls from him and there for forced him to take her to court to be able to see them.) This isn't the first thing, last time she only packed shorts and one pair of socks (for the whole weekend! Fri, Sat and Sun) for them to wear and sandals (we live in Chicago the weather changes DUH!) and it gets chilly at night so my mom bought them some clothes because we dont really have the money to buy anything but we would if needed. So anyway he called to pick the girls up early with hesitation she had them ready when he got there. About 5pm, some to find out that she had not fed them since breakfast! What I am I suppossed to think of this lady? Also she works midnights and has a sitter at night but during the day she sleeps and lets them run around. Without supervision as she sleeps. (This coming from Jess' mouth) Weekend went good. Then there is the return of the children on Sunday. And I am too tired to get into that right now. Can anyone give chris any advice on what he can do. He feels she is neglecting the kids but doesn't know what to do about it.

Sat: I went downtown for a girls night out that i didn't want to go to, and lost my cell phone! Ugh! Been a bad week. :(

And today i start school again! YEA! Still Counting till FL!

Sorry i haven't been in touch, been really busy and with out internet :(

Welcome Vicki and Melinda!!!!

Missed u all, Costume, PW, Legs, FL::MinnieMo, TB, FF, Barry, Eric, Cow, Dan, Disney, and everyone else i didn't mean to forget anyone if i did.

I should be on again soon.

Eric your rents are moving to FL! I understand why u will be there early then. What r your plans for location after you finish school?

Time is ticking away r u ready????

What? Did someone say rain? You can have some of mine. It's been raining here for a few days with no sign of letting up. You are more than welcome to have it. :umbrella:

:wave2: Melinda! Welcome to our thread. A lot of wonderful people hang out here - I hope you like it! I think it is totally normal that you miss your daughter when she is not with you. :( Do you have things you can do to distract yourself when she is with her dad?

MDP, sorry to hear about your boyfriend's problems with his ex. Hopefully they will be able to work things out.

Legs, sorry you had a hard night on Sunday. Are you feeling better? I'm not a martini drinker - had a sour apple martini once that I liked though! How are things going with the EH guys?

My DBF and I have decided to go to Yellowstone next month. I didn't realize it would require so much planning! Old Faithful Inn doesn't have any vacancies :( so I plan on making a dinner reservation there. I love WL at Disney - I want to see the place that inspired it!

Sounds great, TigerBear! Have fun! Ugh...planning! Sometimes that's too overwhelming and I say forget it! ;) I guess things are pretty much booked for the summer. I know I have a time of it trying to get the vet's office to take the pups a few days.

I'm done with school ... after I get done at Disney ... well ... I'm not sure where I'll be. I'll probably move back North, but I'm still in the "searching for a full time job" phase.

I'm ready. Can't wait until 8/25 :)

Tigerbear...make sure to take pics and share with us. Would love to visit there one day.

Leaving for Denver tomorrow morning. I just read that article on the DIS thread about terror in the air. I hope nothing like that happens on my flight!
HG called me today:D to wish me a good flight/trip and will be just south of me for work at the end of the month. So we plan on getting together- IF I can get a sitter. Mine will be on vacation at that time :(

Have a great trip, Legs! And good luck with the sitter. I'm hunting myself.

Hey legs...have a great flight and welcome to the mile high city! I hope you have an enjoyable trip! Should be a nice weekend in the city. It's supposed to cool off some. I will be in the downtown area tomorrow as well but you probably will be in the air....

Have a great weekend and don't work the entire time you're here!

Vicki

That won't be a problem. I'm betting my DBF will bring two cameras - he loves taking pictures that much!

Legs, hope things go well on your trip! Sounds great about HG!

I'm visiting my parents in Austin - just about to drive back to Houston. I have ate way too much the last couple of days. Our official weigh-in is tonight. It won't be pretty. Oh well. My mom's food was worth it!!

MDP, your grades are awesome!! :Pinkbounc :bounce:  :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Have a great trip, Legs...even though you're probably gone already. I find that I miss a lot on this thread, since I don't usually go online at home. lol.

Maybe DBF planned it that way! :teeth: Just kidding. Lucky for him though! LOL!

Yesterday afternoon I was sitting at the computer in the loft...NICE! I like it here! LOL! :) It's just outside my bedroom. I heard glass literally crashing! I went in there, checked the bathroom in case there was some weird poltergeist thing with the mirror...bathroom was fine. Started looking around and saw a GOLF BALL on the carpet!  Then I saw the window...or what's left of it! Thank goodness it didn't shatter all together. There's a hole the size of a baseball and cracks all over. I grabbed that golf ball and ran outside to hopefully catch who accidentally did it. Sure enough, here came two guys in a golf cart...no one else within eyesight of the golf course. A guy came over and I showed him the widow. He seemed very pleasant and was quick to offer to pay for replacing it. Well, there's actually a window on the outside and one on the inside of the frame. Ouch! He left his name, address, and all his phone numbers. I lucked out I think!! Of course this happened at 4:45, and it was about 5:30 by the time I got back in. All the glass places were closed. Once I got back in there, there was shattered glass from one side of the room to the other, on the bed, under the edge of the bed, all over the carpet and window sill. :( I've swept up, vacuumed, and still find tiny pieces on the carpet. Think I'll be finding it for a while. :(

Called a couple glass places this morning and have 2 coming out for estimates on MONDAY! :( I know which company I'm going with already. The guy at the first one said it will "probably" be Monday before anyone calls me and can look at it. I asked him for any suggestion on what to cover it with in the meantime. He suggested cardboard. Hmmm...not sure about that with rain in this weekend's forecast! The second company I called was efficient! The lady told me she would put me on hold to check the calendar. Got back to me right away and said they could be here between 2:30 and 3:00 on Monday, gave the name of the guy who will show up. :) Sold!! I asked her for any suggestions. She said either plywood or plastic with duct tape. Then she said no, don't use duct tape, use painter's tape so it won't ruin the paint. :)

I sincerely hope this guy is going to give up golf! I don't know how he managed to put such a curve in hitting his ball, hit it over the houses AND trees, and in a window on the side of my house on the second floor! It doesn't even face the golf course! :( I hope the weekend improves!
