Okay...I've Called the Late Night DISers, Now I'm Calling the Single DISers (Part 2)

Hey all.

Grades were posted today!!! I was a little teeny tiny bit worried this semester. With all that has been going on in my life, I let my work slide a little in school, I was really worried this would affect my GPA. I have a 4.0 in my double majors. But thankfully I was overly worried for nothing. Straight A's!! :Pinkbounc

I am such a card freak!!! I love card stores, and any occasion to buy someone a card is great. So I went out in search of engagement cards for my two friends. Hallmark had a very slim selection but I settled on 3. 2 that are meant for the couples, very traditional engagement wishes type thing, but the last is for my best friend and I thought it was soooo cute. On the front are these two hideously dressed oriental women, I assume they are in a parade by the surroundings, and they have weird attachments to their dresses that stick out about 4 feet on each side and have tassles and ugly head dresses. On the inside it says "Let the seach for bridesmaid dresses begin!"

MDP: If the pace feels weird to you than most definitely you should have let him know. It is brave and mature of you to have shared your feelings with this guy and made him aware of your situation (your ex, moving, possibly not returning, etc.)

TB: such a cute "family" portrait. :D

Barry:  ;)

Disney...congrats on your straight A's! I know how hard that is especially having a double major!

Barry, I could say something, but I'll be nice tonight and keep mouth shut tonight.

TigerBear, you mean you aren't going to drop everything to see your ex-husband.

PW...shame on you for not falling head over heals in love with someone you've only known a couple of hours after he was so sweet holding your hand and professing his love to you.

Me, I've been busy doing a bunch of nothing. Watching hockey still. Since the LIghtening swept the Habs, get to go out with my neighbors for a progression dinner. It'll be nice to go out with adults without the little one in tow.

Have my vacation plans all figured out till the end of this year. Now just have to do that four letter word called work to pay for the fun!

That probably would have been more welcomed, Barry! LOL!

Tiger Bear...cute pic! They're all adorable!

Congrats on the grades, Disney.

Suzanne...

Do you guys ever sit back and think about the irony in your life. (I've had way too much time on my hands at work lately). IT reminds me of one of my favorite movie Under the Tuscan Sun, where she wants to a wedding in the house she bought, to have it filled with children and to grow old in the house. Well, she has a marriage in the house and her best friend that ends up living with her has a child in the house. Her wishes came true, just not the way she expected them. That seems like my life. Lke I said I've had WAY TOO much time at work.

Thanks all. I think my family is adorable too! PW, how did you get those two pictures side by side? Did you have to create one image? Maybe I could get someone on the tech board to help me change Boo's pic into an avatar.

FM, I definitely think a lot about my life - not necessarily in terms of irony. Sometimes it just hits me that we only get one lifetime. We really do need to make the most of it. I never dreamed that I wouldn't be a mom by 33. But, I also never thought I would get a Ph.D. Thankfully, I am such an optimist I still think my original dreams will come true!:D

The multi-talented Dan Murphy did it for me! :)

Today is a "day." It's my husband's birthday. He would have been 50 today. :earseek: :earseek: :earseek: Now, I won't date someone that age! LOL! Have to be disciplined (as I sit here DISing) and get the resume done. It will be good to occupy my mind for the day.

Nope, never thought about the irony of my life. It's too frightening to consider. LOL!

That was a good movie.
The irony of my life is that no matter how hard I try not to be like my mother, I am ending up like her. :(
Both nurses, both divorced, both single parents,...........
She never remarried and the way things are going, I could definitely see myself ending up that way too.

Leggs, I too am afraid of ending up like my mother. Don't get me wrong, my mom is great. I just don't want to have to go through the things she has. Sometimes though it is inevitable.

PW: I would have wanted him to be gay before saying those 3 words before the end of the first night.

TB: Such adorable pictures! I love that you are so into your "kids"

Well, I'm covering another class this week, so since she has an internet connection, I'm playing on the DIS. NOthing to do, but sit anyways. Saw my paycheck today and died. I was only paid for one day! I'll get the rest of my money in two weeks. I guess I'm literally working for peanuts now!

oh goodness! i am sooo tired. The price you pay for playing when you are this age. LOL I haven't been to bed since Thursday morning at like 4 and i only slept for like 4 or 5 hours then. Oh goodness. And I have right now. I almost fell asleep during the lecture. However if I would have gone to sleep for that little bit of time I could have, I would be worse.

FLM: Enjoying the internet while doing other things is a great thing. I have internet access in all of my classes this quarter. It is actually what is keeping me awake right now. LOL

PW: I hate days like that. I know this might sound like a crazy question but did you realize that it was today before today actually came. Ok here is the explaination, My cousin was shot and killed when she was 15 yrs old, I was only 10 or so. I used to always remember with out a problem the day that she died, well a few years ago I didn't realize it until half way through the day and I had to write the date, i froze. I couldn't move, it was both a good thing and a bad. Good because it means I am moving on from the tragic event. But it still struck me hard. This year that day falls on the day AFTER I arrive in FL for my WDWCP. Not sure how that will be. I think my dad will still be there with me though.

Yup, I knew what day it was before it actually arrived. But that was yesterday. I haven't been dwelling on it all month like I did for quite a few years. I still hate November 16..the day he died. And I can't believe how often I see those number on clocks! 11:16 Hate it! But the last few years I try to not think about it as much as possible. One year I took DS to a visiting carnival that day. It turned out okay.

I used to doze off in Economics! Baaaaaaaaaaaaaad!! I sat in the front seat! Yikes! LOL. :)

Going to Starbucks and then to check the lottery numbers for last night and today. Cross your fingers. I'd buy a house ON the beach at Virginia Beach and another in the mountains. LOL! Yea...keep dreaming. :teeth:

Geeeeeeeeeez...I'm the only one here. I'm starting to HATE the weekends again. Another Friday night. :o :( :scared: :worried:

Went to Sunfest with a couple friends. Saw Cindi Lauper...you know....Girls Just Wanna Have Fun..... We could also hear Peter Frampton who was playing down the street on another stage. Then fireworks set to music. Beautiful breezy night on the water, palm trees, and a great moon.
May go back again tomorrow instead of de-cluttering the house.
Friend thinks it would be a mistake for me to move.

Hi, Legs! Sunfest is always fun. Glad you go to go. Cyndi Lauper! I would have liked to see her. Frampton I can pass on. LOL! Why does your friend think it's a mistake to move?

She thinks I would be giving up a great job and she thinks Melbourne is boring (this is what a guy who lives there told her). Then I was enjoying Sunfest and downtown WPB and I thought hmmm.....Melbourne doesn't have anything like this. Then I started freaking out about moving. Am I doing the right thing?
