Okay...I've Called the Late Night DISers, Now I'm Calling the Single DISers (Part 2)

Glad your brother is on his way back!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc And glad single life is good for you right now, Legs. I did have a nice time at the mall last night. Cute guy wanted to sell me stuff. Oh, he could sell me anything! :smooth: CUTE! He washed and massaged my hands with salt from the Dead Sea. :teeth: Did I buy it? Yes! LOL! Mainly because of a skin problem I've had for years and I've been worrying about how it will be in winter. I know the problems I had when I lived in NJ. No problem at all in FL with the humidity though. So I took that and the body lotion. :) After we walked away, DS said...he didn't have a ring on his finger! LOLOL! :teeth: Do I have this kid trained or what? :teeth: That was one thing I didn't notice.

That sounds like fun! I would have bought whatever he had too!
:D

LOL Sandy about your ds's comment! :p Interesting job for a guy! Oh, I wouldn't discount meeting females at your ds's school - some of them are bound to know single men!!

Legs, it does sound like your job interview went really well, especially if he wants you to come back to meet co-workers!!::yes::

I haven't heard anymore about Harley - I did send him an email this morning asking about her. Mr. Tramp is on my bad list though. I went to see my DBF last night. It was raining so I left Mr. Tramp and Tiger Bear in my bedroom. Big Mistake. When I got back Mr. Tramp had totally destroyed the carpet in a corner of the room. Its not that big of an area (a little less than a square foot) but I don't know what it will look like patched. Luckily, the carpet guy left me a little extra scrap carpeting. Its outside for the boy from now on whenever I leave. Just one more thing to have to deal with...

A co-worker is having a costume party tonight for her 40th birthday. I've been racking my brain to think of something I may have around the house that I can wear. Where is Costumesaremylife when I need her? :wave2: The friend I am going with isn't wearing a costume so I'm hoping it won't be a big deal if I don't wear one.

:teeth: And the guy's accent was even better! :flower3:

Had a good day at Busch Gardens today. DS wants to go back tomorrow for the last day of the season. I can just imagine how it will be! We'll have to see. :)

Was he cute? :smooth...Great news about your brother!! :D

Sandy, glad y'all had fun yesterday!! I haven't been to either Busch Gardens, but I do enjoy Sea World. That's the only "themepark" I have managed to get my DBF to - and he enjoyed it much more than he was expecting too!

Looks like we're headed back today. :) Better get moving!! Have a GREAT day!

TB...I liked Sea World too, but DS wasn't thrilled. He'd rather be at Universal. LOL!

Have fun PW...I grew up at that Busch Gardens and still love going there!

Busy day with doing homework and all the Halloween stuff. What a weekend!

Happy Halloween everyone!

I hope that all of your little goblins have a great time trick or treating! My 'little goblin' is going to go trick or treating...I thought we would be way too cool for that now at 15 but I guess not! She's going to be a giraffe imagine that?!!

Legs-So glad that your brother is one his way safely home! Much deserved peace of mind for your family!

TB-Have you heard any news about Harley? My DD really wants a dog but I am not sure I am ready to get back into that right now.

PW-Hope you had a great day at BG.

What is everyone's kids dressing up as for Halloween? I have always loved Halloween and going to or having Halloween parties.

Back to the work week tomorrow. Actually I am looking forward to work...keeps my mind occupied. A bombing in Tikret last night...where DBF is...I haven't heard from him today not even an IM but from what I have read online it was a hotel that was bombed but they were shooting at the military base...where he is working out of.....they say only Irqi's were killed 15 of them.....(sigh)

CM- I hope you hear from your dbf soon! Maybe it would help to stop listening to the news?

I love the idea of a giraffe costume. That would be the perfect one for me!

My dd dressed up last night as Minnie Mouse. She looked so cute!
We went to Boo at the Zoo with my family. My neice was Sleeping Beauty and my nephew was the red Power Ranger. Tonight dd is Minnie Mouse again. She's trick or treating with her dad.

Friday at school they had a storybook parade. 2nd grade was Peter Pan so my dd dressed as Tinkerbell. I can't believe I forgot her wings at home. I was the one who was upset, not dd. I gave the Disney Store lots of my money this year! But it is so much fun!

I called the interview doc Fri afternoon and left a message. Haven't heard back yet. It is so nerve racking!!!!!

BG was a lot of fun...and very empty! :Pinkbounc No traffic at the gate, just drove up to an empty lane, paid, and headed in. Yesterday was a differrent story with long lines to get in and being sent out to go to the "extended parking" lot. :earseek: Actually, I've had to park there every time...until today! Actually got to park in preferred parking. Woooooooooooo hoooooooooo!! I like getting out of the car and walking in!! :teeth: Guess we need to get there earlier in the day when it's busy.

DS didn't go trick or treating this year. He wanted to be home by 6:00 to hand candy out. :teeth: We didn't get one person! I'm wondering if being in the back on the golf course has anything to do with it. That was disappointing. I was just looking at a page in today's newspaper. It says that the 5 towns in this area were "limited to children 12 and younger and ends at 8 p.m." Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm...interesting! Other towns had a starting time of 6 p.m. but don't list an ending time. Then there's screening of candy at the Sheriff's Office and x-rays of candy! Holy cow!

Thanks, Suzanne! We had a great time both days. :)

Legs...your daughter must have been adorable! I think you would make a great giraffe!! :teeth:

Vicki...Prayers for you and your dbf.

Back to the job hunt in the morning. I see a couple decent positions in today's paper. Not a drive I want to take on a daily basis, but what are you going to do?! :faint:

PW- Glad you had fun at BG!

I haven't heard anything since I left the message for the doc on Friday afternoon. I am not getting a good feeling about this:( It's like a sinking feeling. This is like deja vu. Reminds me of when I called the guy I interviewed with on the other job and he never called back.

I saw my primary care doc today because of the continued ankle swelling. He gave me a scrip for an anti-inflammatory and I am getting an ankle xray tomorrow.

Suzanne- Any word on your test results?

Legs, don't give up hope yet - he may just be very busy. What a lucky daughter you have - two costumes!! I bet she was adorable in them. I hope all is ok with the xray!

PW, I hope you ds wasn't too disappointed about not having any tricker treaters. :( Glad you guys had a fun day at least.

CM, you and your dbf remain in my thoughts. No news yet on Harley. My ex owes me a ton of money and hasn't paid me in a while - I have no doubt that is why I haven't heard from him. He was very generous in our divorce settlement but he was working as a corporate attorney at the time...I don't think he is even working right now. :(

Are any of you going to be as happy as I am when tomorrow is over? These political ads are really getting to be a bore! And I've had recorded messages on my cell phone all weekend long! I put my absentee ballot in the post box Sat. night...so I am done!
Had a really hard time with my decision this time even asked my daughter and her friend their advice! I really was so undecided!

PW-Good luck on the job hunt. I thought maybe my DD would rather stay home and hand out candy but nope she wanted to go trick or treating. We had about 10 trick or treaters even wht the cold, snowy weather. Those rules are wild...we don't have anything like that, no restrictions on age or time for trick or treating. But I did tell my DD that she isn't trick or treating next year...she is getting too old I think! And besides by next year she will be 16 I think she will not what to go at that age either.

TB-Sounds familiar...my ex owes me child support for 6 months plus he is supposed to be helping to pay for any extras like driving school, glasses, contacts..etc. Nothing from him. I am not sure if he is working either! I'm giving him until the first of the year and then I am going to talk to my attorney.

Legs-Hope the anit-inflamtary meds help. I sprained my ankle once...finally went to the emergency room when I woke up the next day and could put any weight on it. But nothing was broken or torn...just a bad sprain. Gave me crutches...I thought you are expecting someone who can't even walk on her own two feet with out tripping to use crutches...it was a joke...I couldn't use them so I just hopped for a couple of days. That ankle still swells when I stand on it for very long.

FM-I wish I could stop watching or listening to the news but it's almost impossible!

Was able to IM with DBF this morning and he is going back to Baghdad tomorrow. They need him back there so he will take a helicopter instead of driving...he assured me it is safer. Thanks so much for all of your kind words and thoughts! I'll try not to bore you too much with this continuing saga!

Is snowed here last night...not ready for this at all! Last year I worked from home so I have been spoiled in not having to deal with the snow and ice. It was a cold walk to the light rail this morning and now with this darn time change it was pitch black at 5:45 when I got back to the light rail station. Another cold but dark walk to my car! I am so jealous of all of you who live in warm parts of the USA!!!

CM- I am still undecided as of right now! I am going to try to get to the polls before work this morning. I thought they used to have a special insert in the newspaper that listed everyone running (not the sample ballot) and their platform (?). Not sure that is the right word.
Glad you heard from your dbf!

My dd's school ran through the whole voting process. Each child in each class got to cast a vote. They announce the winner today. DD said she voted for Kerry "because he stands for justice".

My sister also had T or T curfew times in her neighborhood. I had never heard of that before. They also had an age restriction for T or T. Can't remember what she said the cut off age was.

TB- I don't have a good feeling because every time that I called prior to the interview, he returned my call that same day.

What is it with men? They don't return calls, etc. because they're cowards? Don't believe I said that, but it's crossed my mind. They are the strangest creatures.

Thanks for the luck with job apps, Vicki. Last night I got two out. One to a medical school, the other for a city job. Both farther than I want to drive! :( But they seem like good jobs so it might be worth it. Cross the fingers!! There's another one in town I want to apply for but have been procrastinating about it since yesterday. Not the job itself, but applying. I'm tired of it! :faint: These places are starting to put their own application forms online and want it e-mailed to them. Completing those is so time consuming!

TigerBear...Thanks! Both days at BG were a lot of fun. Good way to end the season. Now I guess we'll have to hit Williamsburg since they seem to be open year round.

Finished voting at 7:30 this morning. Much better than in the evening.

Hope the ankle is better, Legs!!

Speaking of exes... that looks strange. Any way, speaking of them, I never did have one. :) But Social Security thought I did. When I first applied for DS to receive survivor benefits, they had scheduled me for an appointment with them a few weeks later. I went in, sat down, and the lady started asking me if I had a picture of my DH, a few questions, etc. Then she said she wanted me to complete a form so "I could get more money." She thought he was my ex and he was avoiding payments! :earseek: I then told her he was deceased. She flipped through a few pages in her chart and then saw the death certificate. Unbelievable. I wasn't thrilled to have made an unnecessary trip with baby in tow.

I guess I better hop on that application...as much as I don't want to do it.

:wave2:

Men just fustrate me...period...end of subject. grrrr.

So far no news from the doc which is good. So don't plan on doing anymore tests. Me done in my book.

Go to mediation this Friday, so hope it goes well. Not expecting much out of it though.

Brianna received her first report card last week. She earned S and S+ in everything except an s- in working quietly. We are working on that one. Overall though I'm very proud. The teacher did comment that she was reading far beyond what was expected. She is just doing amazing things.

Legs...hope you hear back from the guy soon. That is very weird.

PW...hope you hear of a long-term job soon!

CW...hope your BF comes come soon and stays safe until then.

I agree, Suzanne. Men are very frustrating. I spend more time being frustrated than anything else. When will they think with their brains?

Glad you haven't heard from the doc. Definitely a good thing. :) Stopped at an urgent care center today myself come to think of it. Blood sugar was up. No surprise there. He asked me what I thought the reason was for it. I told him STRESS!! We went into the entire stress story. He wrote scripts for what I needed and gave me a referral to an internist. Think I'll be choosing someone else. I don't care for a female. Just a personal preference. Let's say it's rare I like a female as a doctor. I did have a female cardiologist in FL. She was wonderful!

I hope mediation goes well. And congratulations to Brianna! Smart girl! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :teeth:

Where are the decent SINGLE men? And I don't mean in their 20s. I'm about ready to push any in their 30s out also. Even through the mid 40s is becoming doubtful. I just love it when I catch them in a lie and let them know it! In a nice way, of course. ;) From what I see, they don't know how to handle that. There we go with the not answering things. :scratchin Let's add "mature" as in character and personality to the list. ::yes::

maturity is a big thing. And if you can't be honest with the little things how can you expect them to be honest with the the big hard stuff. But then that's probably again why they are single.

MY dbf is honest with me and mature he just fustrates the heck out of me at times. And this distance thing sure the heck isn't helping!

That's absolutely right. Sorry about the frustration, Suzanne. The distance thing must be difficult.
