Okay...I've Called the Late Night DISers, Now I'm Calling the Single DISers (Part 2)

Sorry TB, SSB was just kidding meaning that he should take your last name for himself... ;) Always found odd how that part works with the names.

I knew you were kidding. :earboy2: My ex-h and I used to joke that we were going to create a new last name - a shortened combination of our two last names. I have friends who think it is crazy for a woman to change her last name. For me it is more about wanting to have the same last name as my children. I do find it interesting that children typically take Dad's last name - when the only parent who is ever truly known is the birth mom.

Hrrrmmm.... art thou implying that SSB might best do some genetic testing... ;)

Not just SSB. ;)

I just found out that Eharmony won't let you have any communication with someone after your account expires. And yes, I know that makes sense - I just feel really bad. The last guy I met was so nice. When he asked me out again I replied that my life was too busy and that I would get back to him (I knew that I would be seeing my ex). Now I have no way of telling him I won't be going out with him again but that I thought he was a really nice guy. :(

I'm sure he'll figure out the bottom line, TB. :) Let's hope he does!

EHarmony hasn't gotten back to me on my e-mail yet. Ha! I suppose I'll get the standard answer I've gotten in the past when asking a question...they don't use physical characteristics when matching people. I told them that's okay...from now on if their height isn't what I'm looking for, I close them right away, no picture? Close them right away. Maybe I'm a more shallow person than I thought. Sheesh! I don't think so! There's just some things that are okay and some not. We can decide to see a smoker or non-smoker but not someone three inches shorter than us?  That's just as important to me.

Mid~week check in!
How's everyone doing?
Myself, I can't wait until next week. This week is spring break, and where am I?!!~In cold, overcast Ohio, that's where! Spending my "vacation" working full time! ARGH! I want to go back to school! :-p

Sorry you're working through your break! :( Hope you get some "fun" time in before classes start again.

Ack! Work weeks are long! This is the second week where I've felt like Thursday was Friday. I was ready to RUN out the door tonight. Had to remind myself to show up for work tomorrow! Two of my three bosses are off tomorrow. I'm betting it will be a looooooooooooooooooooong, quiet day. Ugh!

DS's school royally ticked me off on Tuesday. We had snow flurries here, so they released the kids early!  And they did it without calling any of the parents in DS's class! Amazingly, I was the only parent to call the school and the class mom on it. Long story short, class mom was volunteering at school at the time the principal called early dismissal. She didn't physically have her list of people to call to get the calls going. Went to office and was ignored by staff going nuts with things going on because school closing early. She went to principal WHO WASN'T CONCERNED EITHER!!!!!!!!!!!!  Principal told the class mom to "forget about it." She had called the local news station and gave the info on the closing. HELLO!!! Do all working parents have access to a TV during working hours to stand there and see if a school is closed? Extremely irresponsible on the principal's part!!! DS's school in FL called every single parent if there was an early release. A kid wasn't let go until a parent or designated person picked them up and signed them out. Here? They put the kids on the bus and sent them home! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. DS told me about it when I walked in the door at 5:45 p.m.! Crap! Time to look for another school. They are way too irresponsible with the kids! How can they not call parents and send the kids home? Luckily, my neighbor that he stays with after school did get the message and met the kids at the stop. Her grand daughter is in a different grade/class. I'm still fuming over this. When I do yank DS out, you can bet a letter will be going to the principal, the diocese since this is a Catholic school, and whoever in VA Government that I can find out should get info like this. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

WOW...sorry PW! If my DD's school did that I'd be furious!!
Snow flurries? Were you supposed to get a lot of snow?

No, not at all. It stuck to the grass, not the roads. Around here things close when you have two flakes. Apparently, a lot of businesses must have let their employees out early because 5:00 traffic was light! I made it home in 1/2 hour. Every other week night it's an hour drive. Even an hour and 15 minutes on a Friday night! And by 4:00, it stopped snowing.

So between this, the note I sent his teacher on his interim report asking about his Reading grade coming up (Reading was NOT on the interim report) and she never answered me!!!!!...and the black eye on the school bus...it's time to start documenting everything in writing for the eventual letter. He'll finish out the school year there, and I'll be documenting away at any little thing coming up. But I really want him in a different school next year. What a pain! I'm also thinking that if this school is run this way, probably all the parochial schools are here. Think I'll be looking for a Christian school, NOT catholic! Think the religion has finally lost me.

GOOD MORNING ?? ALL

hope everyone one has a great day

I'm planning on W D W over easter I really need a break.

Hiya, guys! How's your weekend shaping up?
My Friday night was pretty hectic online. Ended up chatting with 5 different guys! This can get pretty weird.
I may be getting closer to actually going out and meeting a couple of them. The one that I had the "phone date" with actually lives 3 hours away from me, which is quite a drive for either of us. We were talking about meeting halfway, but that didn't go any further than musing about it. I've never asked a guy out, and wondering if I should ask him if he wants to get together next weekend. I'd even drive out there, but any suggestions on where to go, what to do? Should I even ask him? The interest is there on both parts. Last night he made the comment that he's going out to see a local band play and that he'd invite me to go, but I live so far away. And I agreed because it would have been really late to drive home and all. Argh...I don't know what to do. Any advice?

I use to wait for guys to ask me out, but it's a different world. So if you want to go out, ask him. The worse that he can say is no.

I don't think he'd say no, but I have made the first move before. I met him on Match. He winked at me and emailed me, and I winked back and emailed him. Then he gave me his number and I called him. He still hasn't asked for my number. Ha, ha...I guess he's "just not that into me", right?

Okay...wheels in motion to get DS in a different school next year. Did an online application for a school that's not too far from work.

Legs...How is it going? Do you have a closing date yet? Already moved in? :teeth:

That's awesome, PW! I'm going to keep my fingers crossed for you. When will you find out if your DS is accepted?

Sandy, I hope you are able to find a school you like.

BB, how is the online dating going? The older I get the more I appreciate how much men like the chase. I think that if he is interested he will arrange to see you.

I think I am going to get fat off Indian food. :earboy2: Everytime I see my honey's mom she makes so much food...and always sends some home with me. I guess there are worse things in life. :teeth:

Well, I took my profile off of Match because now I'm interested in 2 guys. The problem is that they are interested, too. The one I'm leaning most towards lives in Canada! The other is the guy I wanted to ask out (he lives 3 hours away). So, I decided I wouldn't ask him after all, then he went and asked me! Go figure. If you had told me a couple of months ago that I would be in this situation right now, I would have laughed in your face. I told the guy that asked me out that I needed time to kind of figure out what direction I'm going in, but we're going to keep talking. This is so confusing! :p

I've never had Indian food. Isn't it spicy? I can't eat spicy food! ;) I'm glad things are going well for you!
