Okay, I'm having fun with the new camera but...

I'm already researching photo printers. I still have an HP 693C that is printing pretty well but when I tried printing out an 8 x 10 photo I got a faint white streak across the middle of the picture. I'm thinking I'll just go ahead and replace it for one that will give me better color. Can anyone recommend a good, medium priced color printer?

Have you considered using photo places to print them out? The walmart by me has a new machine you can use to print them out (not the kodak one) it takes about an hour, (just like 1 hour photo printing, you come back when they are done), 4X6's are 29 cents a piece and 8X10's are just under 3 dollars a piece.

I know sams club does the same thing, give them the memory card and come back in an hour for your pictures, and they are only 19 cents for an 4X6 no clue how much 8X10's are.

When you are looking for a printer consider the cost of replacement ink, photo paper, and the upfront cost of the printer. I find using these services to be more economical.

I have an HP5550 printer that was bought when I bought the digital camera. It's a nice printer and good quality, but I can't get the 4x6 photos to line up correctly. Went back to circuit city and they basically gave me the long distance number for HP. So, for now I have given up and have used Ofoto.com and uploaded a few pics and ordered them just to try. I was surprised how fast they came in the mail. I may have to try Sam's or Walmart. Ofoto was .49 a print.
