When I went to the AAA store to buy the the Disneyland pay for 3 days get 5 days[$109.per Adult]. They had several Spiderman ads for Universal Hollywood. Spiderman is 8 on my Dh's list
of 1 to 10.

Universal is having a Buy one day get 1 day free[$40 Adult]. So,I bought them, too!!

Please help with anything you know about Universal Hollywood??
[Why isn't there a board??]

What do you like best at Universal?

Can someone give me directions to Universal from DL??

Tink, that's a great deal you got at Universal, and Universal CA is very different from the one in Orlando. BUT, if I'm not mistaken, the Spiderman at Universal Hollywood is a SHOW, not a ride. I'd hate for you to get your hopes up thinking it's the Spiderman ride if it isn't. Someone who's been there lately, please correct me if I'm wrong.

However, that being said, Universal Hollywood is very different and is worth visiting. Be sure to do the tram ride, which is much longer than the one in Orlando, and without giving too much away, it incorporates some of the Universal Orlando rides into the tram ride. You also get to see actual movie sets, and it can vary. During my visits, I've seen the Back to the Future sets and the Bates Motel from Psycho. They also have the Jurassic Park Ride, Back to the Future, ET, and Backdraft. I haven't been there in a while, so I'm not sure if they've added other rides. The shows are usually quite good too.

Sorry, don't have the directions on me, but I'm sure a CA resident will be able to help you better on that point.

Sounds like it's going to be a great trip!

I haven't been since I was about 7 years old, but I can say that the two attractions that stick out in my mind after so long are the Jaws ride and the Tram tour -- and to be honest, Jaws may have been on the tram tour.

I remember on our visit that we went through the set of either Battlestar Galactica or Star Wars, I forget which (I thought it was BG, but SW makes much more sense). I remember it being rather intense and my parents having to remind me it was make-believe, and then really enjoying it.

I don't remember anything else about Universal.

I've heard their Jurassic Park ride is much better than Orlando's, though! :)

Universal is pretty fun. I haven't been in a year or so, but I liked it. The Jurassic Park ride is fun. They had Backdraft, which is kind of a show, and Back to the Future (similar to Star Wars ride). They have some fun shows. Not a huge number of rides - ET, as I remember. You can go to the universal site and get more information about what's available. I have to say I really like it there, although certainly not as much as DLand. And spiderman is a show, not a ride. They also have Universal Citywalk, which is nice, full of stores and restaurants. The tram tour is always a hit.

They used to have a great character restaurant, but I think it's gone now.
Have a great time!!!
Edited to add: I don't know directions to Universal, but I would check mapquest for the best directions. I'll check with DH too - he's a California native.
