Okay I think I have decided, CR or POFQ

I think that when we take DD in 2009 we will either stay at the POFQ or hopefully we will have saved enough to stay at CR.

I think that CR will be the best location for a 2.5 year old. I know we will be going to Chef Mickey's and be at MK a lot. Being on the monorail will be a great plus. I just am worried about the pool and lack of themeing. I really like the themes of the other hotels. But I think I can pass on themeing for the great location.

If we don't save enough I think POFQ will be good b/c of the size.

What do you think? Any other ideas you think might be better?

I would go with the Contemporary 100% over POFQ. Since you're going with a 2.5 year old you will love the convenience of the Monorail and the brand new renovated rooms. You said you're self how you plan to spend a lot of time at the Magic Kingdom and Chef Mickey's is right there so you won't have far to go. I should also not forget to mention the walkway that goes to and from the Magic Kingdom which is also very convenient. So what I am trying to say is all the major pluses of the Contemporary outweigh their lack of a theme.

Another vote for CR over POFQ. We stayed at CR when our twins were 13 months old and I cannot even begin to tell you how wonderful it was. We have never turned back since. Before that trip, we stayed at AKL (our twins were 7 mos old) and I thought I would die before that trip ended from the constant unloading of our double stroller to fold it up and get on and off buses. It was a huge inconvenience waking up the babies and trying to hold both while DH did the unloading of baby supplies and folding and carrying the stroller. SO, we tried CR next trip and what a MAJOR difference being able to walk to MK and/or just roll our stroller right on the monorail, no unloading or folding. We thought the theme at CR would turn us off, but it didn't. I think the excitement of being so close to MK, having the monorail run through the resort, having Chef Mickeys right there, and seeing the Castle close-up every day really set the theme for us.

While I think CR has a lot to offer in proximity to MK and monorail service to EPCOT, POFQ is much smaller and has cuter theming in the pool area. I personally think CR is too large and inconvienent unless you are staying in the tower. Even then it is a couple escalator or elevator rides to the lobby, food court, CMs, and then a walk to the busses. My friend stayed there when he came to visit me in the college program. He was in a garden wing room and it took me 20 min. to get to his room from the bus stop. There was a couple of times he didn't even go to eat b-fast, but waited until we got to the park, because it took too long to get to the food court. If I had kids, this would be maddening to me. I know POFQ is the smallest mod and even the furthest building can be a small jaunt if you get a room there, but request a ground floor room as close as you can and I personally think you'd be happier. When we take our kiddo to WDW we plan to stay there unless we can rent DVC points at OKW for a good price.
