for 2 different resorts for 5. The POR is $2175, and 2 rooms at the POP is $2353. This is for 8 nights and includes the free dining. My children are 10, 9 and 5.

Which should we take? Which resort is better? Will we be guarenteed adjoining rooms at the POP?

I would do the two rooms at Pop. When I booked my July trip I had a ressie for 2 rooms at ASMo. When I asked for connecting rooms(adjoining or adjacent rooms can be next to each other without a door between the two rooms) , I was told that preference goes to a party with 2 adults and 3-4 kids in the party. (We had 4 adults and 4 kids). Happily, we did get connecting rooms! AND, we were there when the resort was at capacity. So, I believe it is definitely possible for you to get the connecting rooms. Make sure it is noted in your ressie each time you talk to a CRO! Have a great time!

Connecting rooms is a good idea. Your children I think would enjoy POP more.

Most important is two rooms provide you with more space, more beds and more bathrooms.

The connecting rooms is not guaranteed. I've read many threads where people have indicated that they requested connecting rooms and didn't get them. We had a grand gathering and did not request connecting rooms, but were told at check-in that we were getting connecting rooms because we had a grand gathering.

That said, the kids will probably enjoy Pop, but if you have to have connecting rooms, I'm not sure it would be worth the headache if you don't get your request.

Good luck!

I thought the free dinning promo was over?
My brother called the other day and tried to get on it because he is thinking about heading down with us. He was told it is over!

They just brought it back for Aug 21 thru Oct 4th, but they say they have a limited number of packages. I guess they weren't filling up the resorts they way they wanted during that time so they decided to get people in by offering free food! Tell him to try again. :teeth:

I have always heard that when kids are under 18 the connecting things is guaranteed. Of course we all know that you can talk to 5 cm's and get 5 different answers. But I know that since Disney has so few options for guests with 3 or more children they probably have to have some sort of system in place to keep families together. That said, I would probaby choose POR because the pool slide is so cool for kids. Pop is alot of fun, but no pool slide and while we had fun there it was so crowded and noisy. My family's new rule is values are fine but only for a couple of nights. We did 10 nights at Pop last January and it got a little old for us. But then again two rooms, two bathrooms. I can't make up my own mind half the time so I'd better just wish you luck with your decision!

I called AsMu last year directly to make sure it was possible to get connecting rooms....they assured me that if it was a party with 1 or 2 adults and children under 18 they would get you connecting rooms (they laughed and added that they really did not want your children in a room without an adult any more than you did!!) I would absolutely go with the 2 rooms at value....I like the moderates but for 8 nights it would be a bit clastrophobic for 5 if you ask me!!

Yep I would do 2 rooms at Pop as well. More space and bathrooms for only a couple hundred more. Def worth it.

we are traveling with 4 kids and two adults. GET THE TWO ROOMS THAT ARE CONNECTED!!!!!!! you are going to need the extra bathroom!!

My confirmation letter says connecting rooms guaranteed, so here's hoping. The CM at CRO said he could guarantee it due to 6 children under 18. Have a great time!

We had the same option for 2 adults/3 kids 12,9, & 6yrs and we chose POR last year and again this year. I am biased toward POR because it just seems so relaxing and fun for the kids (quiet pools in addition to the main pool). The room is a bit bigger than POP but you would have 2 rooms at POP. For us, we spent such little time in the room it didn't matter-between the resort pools and the parks, well by the time we hit the room we were ready to sleep... Now when I bring my youngest next year, we will probably do the 2 rooms at POP beacause it's the most affordable for 6 people. You will have a great time no matter what you decide :)

Our ressie says connecting rooms guaranteed ON THE PAPERS WE WERE SENT!! I hope this is true I will insist on it ---or need an upgrade or something!!! we are doing 2 rooms @ the POP extra room and privacy after the kids bedtime!! :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

If it were me I would do POR.Your children are young, and we found the rooms were easily large enough for 4 adults (us and our grown up daughters). Three younger children would be fine.We prefer the moderate resorts because they are quieter and have hot tubs! Also your kids will really enjoy the pool.

I would do the two rooms at Pop.
If for no other reason than the fact that you get two bathrooms.
I was told that preference goes to a party with 2 adults and 3-4 kids in the party.
Well, first priority for connecting rooms goes to parties with only one adult, of course. It isn't guaranteed unless your Disney reservation confirmation (not your travel agent's statement) says it is guaranteed.

I'm more confused than I was. ;)

I think my issue is that I had really sold myself on the POR, and I'm having a hard time convincing myself to go to the POP. Having two rooms definetly has its upside.

I don't know what to do. To many choices.

I'd go for the 2 rooms as wel- too many people for 1 bathroom, and you'll appreciate the space with the time you will be vacationing.

you'll appreciate the space
That actually cuts both ways: Many folks contend that the first few times an average guest visits WDW (at least) they don't spend much time in the hotel room anyway, so the extra space wouldn't make much of a difference. I'm not sure I buy-into that perspective, expecting, rather, that many first-few-times guests would still spend enough time at the resort to appreciate the additional room. By the same token, they'd spend enough time at the resort to appreciate the better theming of the moderate resorts over the value resorts. :confused3

I'd take the two rooms. The option of putting the kids to bed in one room and using the other would be very attractive. Great for divided napping, too.

5 people will feel crowded at POR in one room. I would pick POP with 2 rooms. If you had fewer people, say 2A 1K, I would go moderate.

53 days and counting! :bounce:
