okay, how do you do it all?

I've been an AP holder on and off for the past 28 years. I still haven't done it all. You just pick and choose. I have a list of all the things I still haven't done and I just try to do one new one every time. I hadn't even tasted a Dole Whip until about 3 years ago.

thanks all! I think I'll start with my list, I actually have one of all the rides. I'll add attractions and shows and cross off the ones I know we don't really have to hit.

I know Turtle Talk is out for one. As one poster mentioned, my kids would rather go on more rides that see the night time shows, but with the 60th stuff, we may have to catch the parade and fireworks. The parade especially for that oversized Mack. No one is really interested in F! (sorry Fantasmic fans!) so if we make time for it we do, if not, eh...

there's so much foooooood I want to eat too!!

If I actually ate all the food I'd like to try I would go home 10 pounds heavier...and quite a bit poorer!

I love the DIS. I've learned so many tips and tricks that will help make our next trip even better.

But, I realized how many things we missed. I've never had a corn dog. Never dined at a TS restaurant. I honestly only remember eating at Hungry bear and flos. And a lot of churros, and one random turkey leg. We missed tarzans treehouse and that wilderness explorer thing at DCA, 2 things i really want to try. Thats only a short list of things i haven't done.

Our only trip was 2013. We're going in October and honestly not sure when the next trip will be. 2016 at the earliest. Which makes me want to squeeze EVERYTHING in. But omg it's overwhelming. Cause there's so much i want to do!!

So, how do you do it all? We will do 5 (well 4.75) days.

Not sure you can do it all in one trip, and if you try, you might feel so rushed and pressured (from the pressure you put on yourself), you can miss some of the sheer enjoyment of just being there. I'll say that when we went to WDW in '07, I had that same "Oh my gosh- I want to fit it ALL in!" kind of feeling, and it was a whirlwind of running from thing to thing. I got so caught up in worrying over missing a certain parade or trying to make dinner reservations, I didn't stop and smell the roses. I regret that now.

So when we went to DLR in '13, I did minimal planning and just enjoyed myself. It was wonderful. We had a great time, fit in a few things that I really wanted to do, and otherwise just soaked it up.

I think it's time for you to start making your Disney Bucket List! I have one, and each trip we make, I try to fit in one or two things from it. This time, we're fitting in a character dining experience, which is something I have always wanted to do. :) My list is modest, nothing too outlandish (like staying the night in Cinderella's castle- Nope!).

-Enjoy a character meal
-Try a Dole Whip treat
-Visit the Art of Animation attraction
-Take the In His Footsteps tour
-Be chosen as the Family of the Day in the MK.

(just examples from mine).... And the list means we've gotta keep going back, right? ;)

oooh Animation Academy! DD would love that!

With some of these replies, I'm crossing things OFF my list :) I defintely don't need a Dole Whip (can get them here) or do a tour (one day, when the kids are older)

We try to do everything in one land at a time instead of walking back and forth, even if it means waiting in a longer line or two. I have a Disneyland passport app that I can check off what we've done and see what's left in that land.

I would make a list of your must do's in each area. Then as others have mentioned stick to that area until the list is all checked and then move on. Running back and forth can eat up a lot of time, especially when going at a child's pace! Remember to stop and just enjoy those magical moments as they happen randomly all the time! When you have done your must have's move to plan B, redoing fave rides or trying something new. I think if you go in with a realistic plan and room for change it will be amazing!

Have a magical time!

Honestly, the best way to do, see and be all, may only be achieved by cloning yourself. That works out perfectly every time, believe me.
In the event that you might not be able to afford that right now, no worries mate! Because the number one cloning corporation, Clones and Drones USA, Europe, Asia and the Pacific Islands, has an awesome installment payment plan. it does involve a contract, which, unless it is in the event of your death, you are not able to carry out your contractual agreement, that's okay, because the company will just get rid of all of your clones. If you wish them back, you'll have to pay a higher premium. Have fun!

If I could clone myself I would have done it a long time ago. Hell, with wiping kids noses and other body parts, cooking, cleaning, errands....I WISH there was more of me. I'd gladly give away all the crappy mommy jobs, and yes, pun intended

To me, it doesn't help that DLR no longer sells 6-day park hoppers. That was the perfect trip length. 5 days is a bit tight if you really want to experience most (I won't say all) that the resort has to offer. Now, if you want to add a day or two on top of your 5-day ticket, it becomes considerably more expensive, on a per-day basis.

One year I spent 19 days total in the parks. I never did everything. We've spent more time than that over the years. Still haven't done everything. Don't try. Pick what you DO want to do and work towards that. :)
