My Mom made me a beautiful Belle dress when I was in college (don't ask- long story) anyway- I mentioned to dh that I was going to wear it and "dress up" when we go to CRT for dinner. I thought it would be cute to dress up with my kids. Here's what dh said :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Okay- now I want total honesty- What do you guys think? Am I a huge dork or would it be cute?

Will it make you happy? Or will you be self-conscious of the people watching you and perhaps making rude comments? If you're comfortable with it, go for it.

From what I've heard WDW does not allow adults to dress up like characters except for MNSSHP. They are afraid it confuses the children who might think you really are Belle. Sorry it sounded like a cute idea.

:sad2: I think it's a bad idea. DD11 is reading this with me & she said she would die if I did this. You can't anyway.

:lmao: This cracked me up! I too would die if my Mom did this when I was 11! My kids are young so they could care less for now. I love reading you responses! I just want all of you to know that I am not some weirdo - but we are a fun family who will usually do anything silly for a laugh and this would make my Dad and Husband laugh so hard they wouldn't be able to contain themselves! :rotfl2:

I was just glad to see there was someone as weird as me. I ran around last year with GOLD MICKEY ears I found in Epcot durning the 50th. I really thought I was the Cats Meow. In fact I knew they were not in WDW yet & saw someone walking with them. Then I saw the Guest speaking to another Guest & pointing. I ran like a bat out of ---- away from my family to the store they were in :sad2: DH had no idea what I was doing. Good thing too they only had 20 in all of WDW & I got 3. :earboy2: :earboy2: :earboy2:

I think it is cute but Disney will not let you in the gate. They will make you change. I have even heard of someone saying they would miss there ADR and they escorted them to the first store in the park to get a new outfit.

Does the dress fit dh?????

Rule 1 of comedy: guy in a dress -- always funny

Just to letyou know- dh dressed up like Ariel for a Halloween party 2 years ago- complete with wig, makeup and sparkly costume!!! We don't take too life too seriously!

On another note I can totally understand Disney not letting adults wear costumes. I just thought it would be funny from an adults point of view. Oh well- and I was going to tell all of you when our ressies were so you could laugh with us!!! :rotfl:

Hmmm...when we were there last October, there was a lovely young Japanese woman wandering around the MK in full Minnie Mouse regalia ... dress, ears, bow and all. It was actually a little freaky to see an adult in that getup .... :scared:

I'm just impressed that a dress from college still fits you!! :woohoo: :yay: :worship:

I've heard this as well. They won't let people come into the parks in wedding attire either.

Maybe because Minnie is not a face chacter it is ok.

Can you imagine how horrible it could be for a little kid to see a fake princess...not looking so good. There is a reason the Princesses do not have children. :rotfl2:

Just in case it makes you feel better, I would have done it, too. I say live Disney to the fullest. Sorry you can't do it. I would have been great regardless of what anyone says. :sunny: :grouphug: :wizard: princess:

Not completely true. When we were watching Illuminations from the bridge between GB and France there a wedding party came down to the lower area for a reception [dessert] party. The bride, bridesmaids, and flower girls were all still dressed from the wedding. Maybe this is true only if you are doing a WDW wedding or wedding party. I can certainly understand them not wanted random people coming up in their wedding dresses. Which is one more reason to get married there princess: :bride: :groom:

MHM: Do you have a pic of the dress or better yet you in the dress??? Pretty please! I wanna see. :bounce:

Too bad you can't. I would do it! WDW is the place where grownups can be kids. What do little girls do best....but dress as their favourite princesses! And it would make unforgettable memories!

That is my understanding. The only exception is a private reception, such as something like the dessert party.
