Okay, my DH and I planned a trip to Jamiaca for this coming Feb, we were going to stay at one of the Sandals resorts and sleep in and leave my DS, 16 months (at the time of the trip) at home with his grandparents. Well now as it gets closer to actually going and leaving the baby we are both getting cold feet. I wouldn't mind one or two nights off, but not 6! We bought the trip insurance so if we cancel we are only out $200. The cost of the trip is $2200, pluse $200 for passports, which we still havn't gotten. Also I would be missing a week of school.
So today I called WDW to price a trip for the last week of March, I am out of school then, and I went ahead and made the reserveation! This is what I made it for,
7 nights at Port Orlean Riverside (we stayed there in Sept of 07 and loved it!)
7 day park passes, we can add park hopper and water park later if we want
the Dining Plan, we also had this on our last trip and loved it
We are going during the buy four get three free promo.
The total package price is $2,036
What do you guys think of the price, do you think I could get cheaper. Is the new dining plan worth it? And do you think you we would really need park hopper or water parks? What is the weather like? What about the crowds?
Also, we are thinking about driving instead of flying, I checked ticket prices and they are crazy high right now!
I am not worried about taking my DS, he would be 17 months on the trip and I am pretty sure that he would love it. It would just be the three of us so we would be pretty much just be going on his schedule. I don't mind spending only a half a day at the parks. I also would love to get him his first haircut at the Magic Kingdom.
My DH is still on the fence, I know part of him would love to go to Jamiaca and relax and eat and drink and not worry about DS, and so would I, but part of him also dosn't want to leave DS for that long. I was thinking maybe I could just have my parents keep him for a weekend so that we could have the time off.
I am just looking for some feedback from my fellow dis'ers!

We did Jamaica at a posh resort with the kiddos, and it was nice too.
is important. But big vacations are for the family. That's just how we do it.
