I am grasping at straws here, I know.

This is about May 5th... Currently there are rumors that 1.) A WDW park (other than MK) will probably be closed early on May 4th for Press Events... And, 2.) The usual EMH evening for MK would be on that evening of May 4th..

That would be a big double-whammie. It would mean all hope would be lost for Visiting MK on the 4th, as hoards of people would be there. (It is anyone's guess if attendance on the 5th will be affected a whole lot.)

So, if anyone could venture an educated guess. Does Disney change EMH hours around very often? In light of the the Celebration beginning on May 5th, would this be possible or probable that they would change the EMH at MK for the 4th?

Man, I can't wait for those hours to be released. I may have to make major changes to my schedule.

I'm in the same boat! At this point, it looks as though MGM is closing early on 5/4. There was a contest where the prize was seeing the new show from Paris Disney at the preview on 5/4, which is a press event. Latest seating I could get at MGM that day was 4:50. Heard others couldn't make PS's for Epcot at all that evening, so it would appear that two parks will be closed early. I'm hoping that's not the case, but it does appear that way for now. May 5 will be an early close at MK if PS's are any indication. Can't get one any later than 5:25 that day.

It's frustrating because I didn't know when we picked this week that it would be the celebration. Last time we went was for the premiere of Wishes and Mission Space. Didn't plan that either. While I'm sure Disneyland will be busy on 5/5, looks like WDW will be just as busy. Where are those hours!!!!????

Yep, I didn't know when we finalized our plans either... I had been happy, making plans to make the best of this whole thing.... But, if Disney closes one of the Parks, while keeping the EMH intact at WDW, then that is just setting up for unreasonable crowds!!! PLEASE, Disney, do not do that!!!

And, they are not going to release these hours one single day early either.

You know, I have heard these rumors about other Parks like MGM or Epcot closing early, and I am wondering if this is actually nothing more than rumor. I mean, from what I gather, they do not release the late PS's until the Park hours are released anyhow... I am not so sure the lack of evening PS's translates into Park Closings???? I just don't know. Will they close an entire Park so the Press can preview a new attraction?

I do NOT see the MK being closed early on May 5th... that is when the Celebration is supposed to kick off full-swing. If they were to close MK early, it would be in the day or two preceding May 5th? Right???

I may just have to change our whole schedule around and do MK early in the week, and change Discovery Cove for May 5th... Hhhhmmm????

Well, I can tell you that they closed Epcot early for the press introduction to Mission Space. They didn't close MK early for the premiere of Wishes.

I too have heard they hold later PS's for when the hours are released, but I am making my PS's for about 6:00, so that shouldn't be a big issue. In fact, the CM commented when I made my 5/4 ressie at MGM that it was odd the latest was that early! Didn't have trouble getting nearly 6:00's on any days but 5/4 and 5/5. The other thing that has me troubled is this contest, which basically said the new show at MGM would be previewed on 5/4. Between that and the dinner ressie issue, I think we're looking at early closing at MGM. Plus, the NO PS's at Epcot on 5/4 are making me REALLY nervous! I want those hours!!!!!

All World Showcases Restaurants in Epoct are not giving Priority Seatings for Dinner for the 4th, 5th, and 6th of May. The reason given was "press event".

It has been rumored that EPCOT may close early one one of those days, and it would appear that might be the 4th....

I know they have their reasons... but I didn't anticipate it affecting our trip too much
