Here is before in Atlanta last month, and as you can see he has on a very appropriate shirt.

Here is just a few minutes ago...look at those fat cheeks!!

Nothing at all drastic...I actually think its much cuter with the highlights.

I said it wasn't drastic....It is a good bit lighter in the top...none in the back. It simply highlighted not dyed blonde or anything.

His hair is naturally very light caramel brown...now it has some very blond parts on top...thats it.

Oh and to add, he is going to his first boy, girl AT NIGHT party tomorrow night and he wants to look "good" (his word) for Courtney and they will probably play spin the bottle. Yes there will be adults there, no they won't be in the room the entire time and he may "if hes lucky" get a peck on the cheek or the lips.

How WONDERFUL to be that young and find such simple pleasure in things like that. I think we could all take a lesson in having fun from our kids once in a while....goodness life shouldn't always be so NEGATIVE and SERIOUS!

I agree - I know I'd be absolutely thrilled if my 12 year old were going off to play spin the bottle...

I think it's the lighting in the second photo. It's difficult to see the difference. I'll bet it looks cute.

I seem to recall being labeled a bit of an instigator after leading several clandestine games of spin the bottle in 5th grade.

They should have been watching us more closely

ROTFLOL! Definatly Brenda they are going to have wild sex and drink and do drugs with the parents right there in the other room...COME ON THEY ARE 12!!

Spin the bottle to them is "Who do you like?" MAYBE and its a BIG MAYBE a peck on the cheek by a "girlfriend" MAYBE his first peck on the lips.....I dare you to prank phone call this person or that. I hardly think I have to worry about an unwanted pregnancy or an addiction at this age.

And yep I think its cute. I did it and it was so exciting! I'll never forget my first peck on the lips at 12! Oh and I don't drink, I don't smoke, no drugs and have had sex with ONE PERSON and I married him. So excuse me if I think the idea of this is CUTE and not something CRUDE!

I'm sorry, but do you believe that 12 year olds don't drink, don't do drugs, and don't have sex???? I'm not saying that your son or his friends would, but you entire "Oh they're too young for that stuff" is really naive and potentially dangerous.

I just don't believe that sexualizing pre-teen kids is a good idea - but hey, he's your kid, so have at it. You'll be the one to deal with it, not me.

He actually told me that Hunter (a friend a year older) french kissed a girl and said it was gross. So that gives me a little hope...LOL!

I remember thinking the exact same thing after my first experience....it was the 2nd and 3rd that were my downfall.

You're getting of easy. Mine went through a green hair phase last year. I would never let him do it permanently -- so I always had that green hair gel gunk smeared all over the bathroom.

You need to work on your reading skills there nuke - I didn't say he shouldn't have - I just asked why, if she didn't like blue hair, she let him do his in blue.

BTW, armchair parenting is almost a full time thing for many here on the DIS - if you don't like it, I would recommend the DB rather than the CB.

Brendan looks very cute - does he have blue hair too?

Brenda I know very well that it happens. 2 of my very best friends lost their virginity at 12. But I know my son and I know his friends and I know that they are very very naive when it comes to sex, drugs and drinking. There are a total of 13 children in his class. There are a total of 240 something in the entire school....grades K4-12. I know these kids.....I also know how kids who are sexually active, drinkers etc act and these kids aren't that way. Heck he wouldn't even sit by his "girlfriend" on the Farris Wheel at the carnival. If he won't sit by her I doubt very seriously that he will do anything else.

We can all raise our kids the best way we see fit and they are still going to make decisions on their own about things like that. Hiding them from him isn't going to help him. When he is approached with peer pressure be it sex, drinking, smoking, drugs whatever HE will make that decision and all I can hope is that I've brought him up well enough for him to choose no. But there are children out there with parents who have done their very best and their children still choose the wrong road. I'm not going to shelter J.C. from parties and I'm not going to shelter him from being socially active (again there are PARENTS at this party!) in the hopes that it will make him never choose wrong. I am as open and honest with him about everything he asks and some things he doesn't ask. Yes that is the way his father and I have raised him and I think we are doing a darned good job.

I believe I said a PECK ON THE CHEEK or MAYBE a PECK on the mouth....a PECK....I hardly think thats sexualizing and the chances of the peck on the mouth are very slim.

Oh heck.....maybe I should turn off The Proud Family on Disney right now.....Desionay (how in the world do you spell that girls name?) has a new boyfriend and Stinky(Sticky) whatever is very jealous and they are talking about kissing!!!!

Five Minutes in The Closet

Five minutes probably still sounds familiar to a lot of people!

He's a good looking boy, Beauty. We used to have get-togethers at my house and I would dye the kids' hair all different colors. It should be the worst thing that they ever want to do and we would all be blessed.
