There's four in your party (mom, dad, and 2 kids (boys) ages 8 & 4).

You want to stay in a 1 bedroom.

You and your family like to swim and slide.

You want your first trip to be magical and memorable in every way.

You want to spend enought time in each park to really enjoy them.

A visit to a waterpark is not too important because you think your kids may be a little too young.

So, if this was your family, and you could do your very first dream trip to WDW all over again so it could be AWESOME in every way...

Which DVC resort would you pick?

How many days would you need for the trip?

What time of year would you go?

What would your plan of attack be for visiting the parks, and also spending some time at the resort pool?

BCV! If you love to swim this is the pool. You can also pool hop to BWV if you get board of SAB.

I suggest 7 full days. One for each park and a extra to go back to the park you like the most or missed the most things. Two days to relax at the resort, sleep in, play mini golf, etc.

This is somewhat personal decision. You kids seem young enough to pull them out of school. If so, do it and avoid the crowds while you can. We hate the heat do don't go June - Sept. It may be too cold to swim in late Dec - mid Feb. We love getting out of the snow and going to FL in the late winter/early spring. So I would suggest the end of Feb or early March, avoiding Easter and Pres. week or perhaps May (before Memorial Day).

We have to go when it is busy but I assume this advice would be good whenever you plan to go.... Go to the parks early and stay until after lunch or early afternoon. Go back to the resort for a rest/swim. Go back to the parks for dinner and the evening. Don't stay out too late. Plan a day or two of sleeping in and non scheduled activities. Schedule ADR's on the earlier side.

BTW, a 1 bdrm is an excellent choice!

I'll echo the previous poster and would say BCV or BWV. This is such an excellent location with so much close by. You have the boardwalk right there at your disposal, a short walk to the International gate entrance to Epcot or a longer walk or short boat ride to Disney Studios.

Actually, you've already gotten the best advice from Lisa, so I'm just going to leave it at that.

But I will tell you that my family's favorite time to visit WDW is after Thanksgiving and before Christmas. It just seems that much more magical with all the decorations up. My DH and DD always swim at that time, so it's usually not too cold for them.

Another in agreement with Lisa.

My only comment...and this is, of course, a personal preference issue. But the 1 BR at OKW are definitely larger, and with 2 energetic boys (just a wild hunch, there...), you might well appreciate some extra space. They upgraded the pool at OKW in 2004, so now it has a slide...of course, it is not SAB or the Boardwalk pool, but it will be fun.

So, now you also have to figure in....space vs. pool.

Also, the Community Hall at SSR is top notch. So, if you do plan those "down days" at the resort (which I definitely suggest!), the CMs at SSR Community Hall have great activities for the kids and really seem to enjoy interacting with the kids, etc. And the slide at SSR is nice...and then there is the spa for you!

Bottom line, you won't go wrong!
