OK you guys talked me into it!!

just came back from Michael's and bought the Sizzix and the uper case Alphbets with the 50% off coupons..both came to $126. is that a good price? so my question to you all is do you put a glue stick on the letters to secure them on your projects or is there another method that you use? Told my kids that they can get me some die cuts for Christmas .lets hope they remember..my daughter in law will but I'm sure my son won't..LOL

I don't have a sizzix but a quickutz. I use either hermfix dots or I run it through my little x zyron. Wonderful little tool to have with the cutting system. My letters fit through it along with many of the dies.

It is the best tool! I use it so much, I forget I have it. It is just like another hand.

BTW...has anyone tried the hermafix PERMANENT dots? IT IS AWESOME!!!!! They are hard to find, but Hermi has been bought by EK Success....so they should become more available.

They are the best!!! I may get rid of everything else I own. Wouldn't that be great? One glue for everything? I know...I am dreaming.

I swore I was never going to get one(I love to write fancy) but I found myself day dreaming about it this weekend at Michael's. Now I think I want one because everyone else has one. Crazy! Maybe if I tell my husband I need it for my scrap business he will buy it? Or ask my good ole mom for it for Christmas! Hmmmm.

If I remember, I run the cardstock/paper through my xyron 900 before cutting with dies. I like the way I don't end up with gooy adhesive on the edges if the letters/shapes, unlike using the little X afterward. If I totally forget about xyron, I usually use CM tape runner for adhesive. I'm not one to use glue/glue stick. I guess too many bad memories of stuff falling out of scrapbooks from years ago.

It is funny how one gives in to board pressure. I bet if I had never seen this board and read about the sizzix, I would not have bought one. But I am glad I did and that I got it at 50% off.
Congrats. And I think it is really nice to make it easy for everyone to shop for you this Christmas .

I did the same thing with their Spring Coupon they had and don't regret it a bit! (actually dh did it)

The shadow part of the shadow letters won't fit well through the X zyron especially the M or W!

I will have to try RRBB's idea with my 510 though - I like that!

Patti I just got those too - they are awesome - unfortunately though my lss is NOT looking forward to EK Success taking over - she has a hard time with them ( I think they just don't do enough business or the fact that Mike's will carry it)

I just bought the new Zyron 'dots' or whatever they call it - at Mikes yesturday - figured I would give it a try the refills are a lot cheaper than CM or Hermie!

I used to use my hermafix sticky dots, but then someone recommended the Xyron "X"... it's PERFECT!!!
