100% Irish here! :shamrock:

I'm named after County Kerry. :thumbsup2

I am 1/4 Irish. My father is 1/2 Irish & 1/2 English. My mother is all Slovak.

50%, paternal line. My last name begins with C and ends in Y, it's a very Irish surname.

the other 50% is Russian, Polish and Rumanian.

None of the options listed.
Irish but not 50%......and not Catholic ;)

Both DH and I are 50% with both dads born in Ireland. Named poor son Seamus in my father's honor. Poor kid, at one already gets called "Seemus" a lot. Perhaps a mistake, but we like it.

I am less than 50% Irish. My great great grandfather emigrated from Ireland in the 1850's..potato famine, I'm sure was the reason. He was a Hearney, which was shortnened to Harney. He lived in NJ, my gg grandmother was originally a Dilts...not sure if that's Irish or English, I think it's English. So this side has Irish, English, and also a little French way back somewhere.

My dad is an adoptee, so we don't know for sure...but they said he was half Italian and half English.

I didn't vote cause I am 1/4 irish :thumbsup2

I'm not Irish, but DH is 100% Irish. Although he was born here the rest of his family is in Donegal.

I'm 100% Irish. Was born and bred here in Ireland. Co. Kerry actually.

When we were fortunate enough travel to the most beautiful place in the world, someone there asked me why Americans always say they're "half this, a quarter of this", etc., instead of just saying "American and proud of it". I didn't have an answer, and I'm not entirely sure with her sweet accent, but she sounded a little annoyed, so I was wondering if it does actually bug or offend the "100% born and bred"?

Thanks!

I choose 100% but it's more like 75%. Close enough. :thumbsup2

half on my mum's side - the other half is despicable English blood ;)

by rights I should be continually attacking myself.

50% for me--Maternal=Grams family comes from southern Ireland--Gramps comes from northen so somewhere along the line he got some Scotch in him but my grams refused to even talk about it and if you tried it was enough to get you cracked

Paternal=Grams was german--Gramps was german and native american

My kids have Irish first and last names correctly spelled I might add--Bugs me when ppl give their kids an Irish name then switch up the spelling to something they like!
