We were at WDW over the Christmas holidays and DSs wanted to go into Living Seas (it's been a few years since we were in it).
We down the hydrolator, made a turn and found ourselves in the area with the displays. We thought we missed something somewhere and asked a CM how to get to the ride. She told us it was gone!!!!

I know, I know, it was not much of a ride, but we enjoyed it! So when and where did it go!

but they are not using it. You can see where the tracks are. I guess they put the cars and etc in storage. Too bad another cutback to save a few pennies that takes away from the attraction.

It was gone when we were there last APril, and still not working last July......

While I somewhat enjoyed the ride in the Living Seas, I think Disney is capable of doing SO MUCH MORE with this pavilion.

It wasnt there when my friend and I were there in June. We were just there at the end of December too, and it wasnt there either! And there was only a small viewing area of some fish; no dolphins or sharks! What happened to the Living Seas! Its rank on my 1-10 level is going down...

We were at WDW just after Sept. 11 (scheduled to fly 9-12 but drove and arrived 9-13) and were told the sea cabs were discontinued for security reasons. It probably wound up being among the cut backs though.

I think it's been gone since 2000 but I could be wrong. DH is thinking 2001.

we where there in June 2001 and did ride on some little cars through part of an aquarium - is that what you all mean?

We went to the Living Seas last month (early December) and I could swear we rode those hydrolaters. Are you referring to those "elevators" that seem to be moving down but are actually not? Because we rode those.

We were just there last month. My husband did the dive in the living seas. The dive quest castmember who was leading us through the back door told us that the ride was closed and that they were redoing it. I didn't think to ask any details. So, I guess either they are redoing it now or they are planning to redo it soon. :)

twinmomto3boys: yes, the hydrolators (elevators) are still in operation, but there actually used to be a sit-down ride that took you to the tank area. It was short, but still an introduction type ride to the aquariums.

I know in Nov. 2001 the ride portion was not in operation.
