I am really, really glad that Disney is really focusing on Hollywood studios, way back when it was called MGM, I was one of the few who loved this park. ;)

But when are they coming?? It seems like I've been hearing about "Star wars land" for ages now and they've managed to build 3 DVC villas in the interim.

Come on mouse world, break some ground. We use to be annual visitors but decided to make this our last trip until they get something new in. (I have young adults, princesses don't faze them).

Anywhere from 2016+. Most think you are looking at 5-7 years before they are all completed.
But a few things are due pretty quick, based on latest reports.

Rivers of Light should start showing in Spring/summer 2016. Plus new Star Tours inserts winter 2015/16 and then Star Wars fireworks summer 2016. Also Frozen ride and Soarin' over the world for 2016 too.
Avatar opens 2017, most likely late Spring early Summer.
I would then guess Toy Story Land opens for summer 2018 and Star Wars land for summer 2020 or 2019 if we are lucky.

One more that I read is soon (like in 2016) will be the Star Wars Cantina/Launch Bay thing.

I would guess no sooner than 2019/2020 considering how long it is taking to build Avatar Land ... another "whole land experience" where they aren't interrupting any attractions at AK to build it. I

They probably want to not mention any dates because of inevitable delays and they simply don't want people to "delay" their vacations in anticipation. If they said these lands would be done in early 2018 .... I bet a LOT of people wouldn't go to Disney World in 2017.
Why go to Disney in 2016 if the only thing new will be the Frozen ride? Why not wait until 2017 .. 2018 2019?

Considering how little attractions DHS has (and what they will still probably have to tear down to build these lands) .. we might see a phased approach of some part opening before the whole thing is done. Unless they shut down the entire park (which I can't imagine them doing) .. they will need to do bits and pieces otherwise there simply won't be enough for guests to do at DHS for their ticket price.

It is amazing to see how much attraction work is being done now. Every non-MK park is getting a new attraction or two in the next few years.

It took a little while to "respond" to Harry Potter World .. but it is quite the response.

Right...the smaller items are coming soon, which I think is a good idea. The Launch Bay, Hyperspace Mountain (DL Only) and Star Tours enhancements are all coming in short order. The lands are going to take a while.. If I were them I'd try to get Toy Story Land up and running as fast as they can, maybe opening in sections, like the spinner ride and a lot of the theming could be opened before the coaster is completed, at least theoretically. We'll just have to wait and see.

WDW 50th is October 2021. I'd bet on them having everything tip-top for the hordes of guests that will inundate the parks. The purpose is two-fold: To draw people who don't normally go to WDW because they've already done that, and for those millions of people to return home and tell everyone "there is so much new stuff it's like a different experience. :earsboy:

It won't be till 2025. Nobody heard them announce they were hiring 30 construction crews to work 24 hours a day to get these things built in two years. So given that they will be using the same team that took 3 years to build a parking garage :)

According to Jim Hill, Pandora has been delayed and will not open until 2018.

Darn it.. We are supposed to have a Grand Gathering in 2017 in anticipation of Pandora opening. That is the only reason I could get a few family members to go.

They were hoping you'd be so distracted by the shiny new things that you wouldn't ask for a date. :p

Let's see..... they announced Pandora in 2011 and there's still not a firm date for those things........

Egads so cynical!

This all seems like great news across the board to me, whenever it opens.

Also - it seems like the new Jungle Cruise restaurant will have a nod towards the old Adventure's Club that so many loved so dearly before it closed at DTD?

That would be a very cool move and a fantastic idea.
