OK, what exactly do I do once I board the ship?

This sounds so corny I know, but this is our FIRST time, and I am clueless...yet again :)

When I walk on to that ship, what do I do? Go right to our cabin? Lunch? Swim?

We will have to VERY anxious 5 year olds, and one completely fanatical 32 year old...ME!

If you'll want to make Palo reservations, I'd do that first. Then I'd go get some lunch, then sign the kids up at the clubs. After that, cruise by your room to drop off your carry-ons, then explore the ship or hit the pools.

The rooms usually aren't ready as soon as boarding begins, so I usually don't get to mine until after I've eaten.

This is perfect, just exactly what I wanted to read :) Off now to print it out!

Thanks again...so much,
Sharon

Depending on what time you board, they may not yet be taking the Palo's reservations. (We board as early as possible because we just can't wait!!!) We eat first, then keep a close eye on our watches for the time when they will begin accepting ressies!
Have a great time!:boat:

We didn't do Palo ressies, so we boarded and went straight to Parrot Cay for lunch. Then we registered the kids at the clubs, then dropped our stuff in our now open room, then went swimming. Our luggage had arrived, so I unpacked while the kids swam before the drill. Than the drill, then the sail away party, then time to get ready for dinner, then drop the kids off in the club while we saw the show - and off to bed.

Doing it again....I'd make one change. The kids would wear their suits under their clothes. We'd still have lunch at PC, but after lunch one of us would register the kids while the other one took them to the pool for a swim. If we did Palo, I wouldn't worry about the "perfect night and time" and would just make reservations after lunch (but before the kids clubs). The pool is relatively uncrowded during boarding and its a great chance for kids to swim. I'd carry lighter carryons - they got heavy for the 2 hours we toted them around in the terminal and on the ship.

Palo reservations are taken as soon as you board. I would make my Palo reservation before anything else.

The cabins on the Magic are not available to get into until 1:30. Make your reservations, check the kids into the clubs...then go have lunch and enjoy!!!!!! We actually walked around each deck after lunch to get a "feel" for the ship -- although it wasn't until the fourth day or so that we actually knew our way around! LOL!

The first cruise we did, we didn't quite know what to do or expect. The next time out, Lee made her spa reservation and I did the Palo's. I would then suggest checking out the ship. Get a feel for where everything is at. Seems that the last time we boarded, the rooms were not ready until they said, so that will give you plenty of time to check things out. Most of all, when you board, start having fun, because the cruise will go by quickly!

7 day western cruise with Payton-2002

We were on our first cruise this July. What we did was board about noon. We set a meeting place and time with our teen DSs.

DH went to make Palo reservations, I went up and made SPA reservations. That was all taken care of by 12:15!! We were going to meet our kids at our cabin around 1:15, so DSs explored and DH and I had a BayBreeze at Signals until meeting time!!!! Then off to lunch!
