HI

This is our 1st trip to Disney and we have a 4 and 9 yr old. What do you usual take around parks with you and what do you carry it in.

Any suggestions

We take a backpack and bring water bottles, sunblock, first aid, anything your 4 year old might need special. Our kid (soon to be kids!) are much younger, but we also bring a change of clothes. Your 9 year old could probly carry his/her own little bag. We also pack some pretzels or snacks.

Hi there! We take a tote bag and I always have one of those small first aid kits, water bottles, sunscreen, camera, wipes, sweatshirts (if needed), gum (disney doesn't sell gum), tyenol and hair ties.
Have a great time! :thumbsup2

Backpacks are great - I agree with all supplies above and would add an umbrella on a cloudy day!

I bring of each of my DSs a bathing suit and tshirt and I put them in a ziploc bag. My boys love the water playgrounds and they will go on Kali River Rapids and Splash Mountain over and over but hate being wet after. We do a quick change before the water rides or if they want to splash around the playgrounds.

In my backpack I carry: ponchos, bendy straws, autograph book & pen, and a brush. I wish I could go lighter, but you just never know when those pop up storms are going to happen!

We've had the stroller with us the last 4 years, but this year probably won't. In that we always stored the backpack - this year we'll be totin' it most likely. In that we always have snacks (granola bars, apples, oreos or similar cookies), water bottle - not many since you can get free ice water at any restaurant (even though it's not the best tasting tap water!! ugh, but it's cheap), camera, extra batteries for the camera, autograph album/pens, change for pressed penny machines & ziploc bag to store them in), and sunscreen. Sometimes more - but that's what I remember right now.

I had a small bag. I carried a couple pre-packed snacks (crackers, cookies, etc) travel sunscreen, lip balm, wal-mart poncho, glasses/sun, travel hand sanitizer, travel tissue, autograph book/pen, index card w/daily info (adr confirm #'s, parade/show times, etc) bandaids, tylenol/motrin,camera. It really was a small bag, about the size of a fanny pack, but sure got alot in it. I didn't want to be bogged down with a large bag to carry all day.

I think I carry way too much...but it works for us!

  • Camera
  • Video Camera
  • Change of clothes for 4.5 yr old son (squished in a ziploc)
  • cell phone
  • id/tickets/room key/cash
  • autograph book and pen
  • park maps/times guides/ADR list
  • a few snacks (goldfish, granola bars)
  • travel size tissues
  • travel size wipes
  • travel size purell
  • shout wipes
  • a few crystal light packets - makes water fountain water much less yucky!
  • small rain ponchos (dollar store kind)
  • travel size sunscreen for re-applys (we would have already slathered ourselves before leaving the room)
  • water bottle(s) - 1 or 2 depending on which bag I have
  • my i-pod - don't laugh - it came in handy quite a few times to keep my son occupied in line or at a restaurant - it's the new nano so it weighs nothing and takes up no room
  • if we go back at night - pajamas for my son instead of the clothes. He ALWAYS falls asleep on the bus back to the resort, so I usually get him changed before we leave and just pop him in bed when we get back and he takes a shower or bath the following morning.
This is the first trip we're going to try to be stroller free, so anything I bring with me I'll literally have to carry and not stuff in the stroller. It'll be interesting.

I'm like mom2redhead. I carry that and more (minus the nano).
- light up spinny things from the last trip, so we don't have to buy it again.
- bottle/fan from last trip or just a mini fan depending on time of year
- tiny cars which go in my waist pack so that even waiting on lines or at the restaurant there's something to do
- cell phone
- mini light
- ear plugs for the loud shoes
- epipen and benadryl

Probably more that I'm not thinking of. But except for MK, we get out of our car, load it into the stroller and walk to the gates since we are usually there at opening.
