OK...What did I see???

Chupacabra:
The Chupacabra or Chupacabras (pronunciation: /tʃupa'kabɾa/, from the Spanish words chupar, meaning "to suck", and cabra, meaning "goat"; literally "goat sucker"), also called El Chupacabra or El Chupacabras in Spanish, is a legendary cryptid rumored to inhabit parts of the Americas. It is associated more recently with sightings of an allegedly unknown animal in Puerto Rico (where these sightings were first reported), Mexico, and the United States, especially in the latter's Latin American communities.[1] The name comes from the animal's reported habit of attacking and drinking the blood of livestock, especially goats. Physical descriptions of the creature vary. Eyewitness sightings have been claimed as early as 1990 in Puerto Rico, and have since been reported as far north as Maine, and as far south as Chile. It is supposedly a heavy creature, the size of a small bear, with a row of spines reaching from the neck to the base of the tail. Biologists and wildlife management officials view the Chupacabra as a contemporary legend.[2]

So, nothing like what the OP saw but still funny
Thanks I have never heard of such a thing lol

We haven't had cougar sightings here in AGES (That I know of anyway). But it MAYBE could have been a small cougar. (not a *young cub*, but nowhere near grown) IF it's skinny because of the heat (Record temps here right now) I could see that. (Why it would be trotting like a dog, I don't know...LOL!)

I grew up hearing the *old folks* tell about how there used to be lots of cougars here. I haven't heard of one any time recently though. (But of course I've had no reason to keep up with that)

I tried to search for some pics of young cougars, but had to stop immediately. I don't recommend ANY image search on *cougar* with the kids home. :scared1: :sad2:

ETA: That after looking, cougars may be too big. Even very young cougars. I have no clue. :confused3

I'm just adding this to my list of unexplained things. ;)

Coyotes have been popping up all over the country, even in areas they have not been known to inhabit. Their appearance can vary. You might check with the local fish and game officers to see what they think.

well since I haven't seen him for a while, I'll say it.......

This thread is useless without pictures!

I vote for coyote, too.

Bobcat?

I'm up in CT and there have recently been numerous bobcat sightings in the next town over.

I think you should remember that every animal is going to be a little different heights. different colors

Thank you. I understand that. But this animals legs were almost as long as his body.

bobcats, cougars, coyotes are all way longer than a foot!
At least the ones we get in WA....do they grow smaller other places :rotfl:

No idea. But I am curious.
