The water from the faucet is fine to drink. Many bring bottled water, but to each his own. There are many threads about bottled water here for you to decide which is best for you. But, the water is good from the tap.

We refill our water bottles from the tap all the time----been doing it for 15 years---no ugly second head or third arms yet.

You may find yourself with a nasty case of Disneyitis. :sad2: It's a sad, bank-account-draining disease which compels you to take annual or even semi-annual trips to Disney and/or Universal. I don't believe they've found a cure yet but, when they do, keep it far far away from me! :lmao:

On the serious side, some people don't care for the taste of the tapwater - kind of like sulphur. It doesn't bother me too much though. If you feel you may have an aversion, take along some drink mix packets - the sticks of kool aid or other drink mixes. Works like a charm for us. :thumbsup2 Oh, little tip if you do take those sticks - put them in a baggie. I had one break in my fanny pack. :scared1: Powder everwhere.

:lmao: So that's why I'm compelled to make so many trips to WDW. I drank the water! :cool1:

Seriously, you won't get sick from drinking the water, but a lot of people don't like the taste. It does have a sulphur taste to it. I dislike the taste when it's direct from the tap, but I can drink the water you get in the counter service restaurants which is filtered tap water. You can get free cups of ice water from any counter service restaurant.

The water is horrible from the tap! My sister-in-law was poorly for the first week, stopped having ice in her drinks and all was fine!

I've been looking locally for the britta bottles, everyone is sold out. I'll end up getting it somewhere before we leave.

I bring bottled water with us ONLY because DS got sick at Disney in 2004, and he is convinced it's because he drank water from the faucet. He won't even rinse his toothbrush with the tap water. The tap water tastes a little funky, but I've never gotten sick from it.

I'm not a tap water fan because of the taste and don't drink it at home unless it's been filtered, but it's safe to drink. It comes down to personal preference.

There is nothing wrong with the tap water! ANY change in water can cause GI issues if you have an extremely sensitive system. If, on past travels, you've had problems, buy bottled water. If not, drink the tap water. On behalf of the easily offended, I resent the implication that somehow water in the U.S. is impure. :rotfl2:

We have always drank the tap water and had no problems...and I have a very sensitive stomach! You adjust to the sulphur taste after a day or so. To be honest, it has always helped me not be so bothered by the bugs! We switched to bottled water for the convenience one year and were really bothered by the bugs. Switched back to the faucet water and no bugs! :lmao: DH was born in FL and he swears that drinking the water helps keep the bugs away! :rotfl: Not scientific but it works for us!

I saw them at BJs just about a week ago. I believe it was a 3 pack of bottles with filters for $24.99. I thought that was a good price, but not sure. So if you or anyone you know has a membership there, it might be worth taking a look.
HTH!

Nope it is not safe at all, everyone living in Orlando must drink bottled water or they will be poisoned ;) JK

Whether or not you want to be drinking it depends on how bad your water is at home. We have horrible tap water where I come from so the water at WDW and DLR tastes great in comparison. If you have good tap water at home you probably won't be able to stomach it

Although it is "safe" I just can't stand the smell and taste of Florida water. We always run to Super Target and buy a case of water for the week.

I brought empty bottles and filled them up with water and the resort and parks (and airport after security when departing) and had no problem

I recently purchased a water bottle called a bobble bottle. You fill the bottle with tap water and it filters the water as you drink it. I bought it with my upcoming disney trip in mind, so I don't know how well it will work on the sulfur Florida water but if you are worried and can't find a Brita bottle around you they carry these in a lot of stores, I got mine (the largest size) at target for $14. The filters come in a bunch of fun colors and you only have to change them every three months. If you are really worried about the water you might want to give it a try...

I got sick from drinking from the fountains this last trip of ours...but not the time before.... I'd say it depends on what your immune system etc is doing while you're there. :confused3 I was being very careful, since I had been sick from something in American coke (HFCS) the last time, so was being very conscious of what I ate/drank, etc and the only thing dh and I could narrow it down to was the fountain water.

I wouldn't say it would make everyone sick, as I know tons of people (myself included) who have drunk from the fountains other times, but this time out? I hit a bad water time, I guess! I'll be erring on the side of caution from now on out....having the scoots and cramps at Disney is no fun!

We ordered like 2 cases of bottled water from Gardengrocer.com when we went. I have also heard of people ordering bottled water from Costco as well.

I have to say though...it's a personal preference as to whether or not to drink the tap water in Orlando. Some people don't mind it...others do. *shrugs*
