If you are trying for MSEP between Jan 5th and Jan 10th, your options are Sunday, Jan 5th or Thursday, Jan 9th.

The parade on Jan 6th has been cancelled.

I caught myself stressing about when to schedule a FP for Turtle talk. We are going at a slow time, so who cares! Their book 3 or nothing rule makes you feel bad for wasting a FP, even if you never needed it in the first place.

I'm not familiar with Festival of the Loin King--doesn't sound too family-friendly to me.

The MSEP did show up, it just shows it down for refurbishments. It won't let me book it. On the phone now with CS now and they said the MSEP will be down from Jan 6th through the 17th. That means I have to redo my entire work for the 5th and 6th. I guess I am going to need that park hopper after all, because Fest of The Loin King is down the 6th too, so we have to go to AK on the 5th for that. I have to redo dinner ressies and my birthday celebration on the 5th. Plus I can't make FP+ in two parks so we will have to stand in line for something. Which would you suggest? fest of Loin King or MSEP?

Questions, by car, how long will it take me to get from AK to MK? I am so upset right now. No wonder they gave us a discount with everything being down.

First of all, MSEP and FoLK are not "everything", so saying that "everything" is down isn't fair.

Secondly ... on the internal cast calendar, MSEP is showing at 7pm on Jan 5. And also the following dates:

Jan 9 -- 7pm
Jan 11 -- 8 & 10pm
Jan 13 -- 7pm
Jan 16 -- 7pm
Jan 18 -- 9 & 11pm

So, if it's down Jan 6-17, no one has yet informed the cast who are performing in it.

Yeah, those 2nd tier FP+ selections at EPCOT are something. I kept looking at them thinking I was missing something! None of them need a FP, especially when we're going, but I felt like I was "wasting" one. I should change it to Capt EO for grins. My kids LOVE Michael Jackson and the show makes me laugh!
