The MSEP did show up, it just shows it down for refurbishments. It won't let me book it. On the phone now with CS now and they said the MSEP will be down from Jan 6th through the 17th. That means I have to redo my entire work for the 5th and 6th. I guess I am going to need that park hopper after all, because Fest of The Loin King is down the 6th too, so we have to go to AK on the 5th for that. I have to redo dinner ressies and my birthday celebration on the 5th. Plus I can't make FP+ in two parks so we will have to stand in line for something. Which would you suggest? fest of Loin King or MSEP?

Questions, by car, how long will it take me to get from AK to MK? I am so upset right now. No wonder they gave us a discount with everything being down.

That doesn't sound correct. I doubt MSEP would go down for refurb at the same time that there is no daytime parade.

It should take you about 10 minutes from the time you leave the AK parking lot to arrive at the MK parking lot.

This is the first I'm hearing about the MSEP being down for refurbishment. In fact, easyWDW just posted on 12/16 that a second MSEP had been added on 1/11:

We're there at that same time, but we've seen both many times. Don't get too upset about the refurbishments, it's just something that has to be done. Just try to enjoy the moment, as there will be many at Disney even without those 2 events. I'm sorry your stressing out about the changes but don't it interfere with the magic.

I wouldn't worry about getting FP+ for FotLK - I've never had a problem getting a seat.

I'm still not buying the MSEP refurb. None of the Disney-oriented sites that I trust are reporting it and I know enough not to trust a single phone CM's info and I sure as heck don't trust MDE for refurb info (Ariel's Grotto anyone?).

You don't need a fast pass for a parade. Just grab a seat and enjoy! That's what we always do!

You don't need the FP+ for Lion King! Honestly, you probably don't really need it for most things in AK on January 5th at all. EasyWDW has it as an overall 4 for crowd levels and AK is a green park. I wouldn't think twice about switching them to MK attractions.

Having to buy a park hopper when you never needed it is probably frustrating, that part I can get. If I were you I'd book the MSEP FP+ now to hold them just incase, but if it turns out the refurbs aren't true I would switch back to AK.

Well, the FP+ saves a seat for you (or at least a viewing area), so it means less time sitting around staking out a spot.

Ok, got someone different when trying to make dining changes. It is NOT down from the 6-17th, just not open on the 6th. It let me make a FP+ on the 9th for MSEP. I hate that no one at Disney can tell you anything for sure. I am going to call back later to be sure, but as it stands we will be able to see it.

Looks like no MSEP for Jan 6 only to me....which sucks personally for my plan but oh well. Maybe there will be less folks that night.
