Ok, so who's ready to decorate for Christmas???

Halloween decorations came down tonight! We will be getting the Christmas decorations from storage at my mother's house next weekend when we go to visit, I don't think they will stay in their boxes long:banana:

Me. :)

We bought this house last spring and it is much larger than our old home. Plus there are more banisters to decorate and the yard is three times larger. I'm so excited.

Though, with the larger house came the larger mortgage, so I don't have as much money to spend on decorations. Good thing we have a huge holly tree in our yard. I'm going to use a lot of holly in decorating.

I can't wait as we have a new house too. This is the first year in quite awhile that I was able to put up my Department 56 Halloween village and I think I will leave it up until Thanksgiving. During that weekend I will swap it with my North Pole Village. I haven't had it all out in years. If we get a good snow before Thanksgiving I may start decorating earlier. I could at least put up my snowman collection. Not sure about the tree. We are going to Disney early in December and if we do a real one I don't want it to dry out. No idea about outside-whatever the budget allows.

I was just asking my DH today if we could take a drive to Frankemuth.
I love to go to Bronners Christmas store. It really is amazing and puts me in the Christmas mood.

We used to go to Frankenmuth when I was a little girl. It was like magic. :)

I'll start next week. I don't move as fast as I used to and I want everything to be up before DD comes home for Thanksgiving. I do a lot of decorating and it takes awhile to get it all out.

i've already got the tree up, decorated and wrapped presents under it!

I got all the carpets cleaned and deodorized Friday so now I am ready to start decorating for the holidays! I would like to hold out until Thanksgiving but I may break down and put 1 of my 2 trees up before then!:)

I cannot wait to decorate!! Luckily my husband and kids like it as much as I do. My kids are off from school this week so I'm going to focus on cleaning so by Thanksgiving we can get it all done! We found out this summer that my mom has cancer and honestly need to feel that Christmas spirit this year.:)

my family will be waiting awhile for it here.

last year a week after christmas our roof got major damage due to snow-almost collapsed. because of the temporary framing the contractors had to put in to support it during repairs i could'nt get into my living room and get my tree or decorations down until.................drum roll please.....................a WEEK BEFORE EASTER:scared1::scared1:

suffice it to say i'm not quite ready to start unpacking stuff thats only been packed away for what seems like just a few months.

on a high note we did learn which christmas treats do and do not retain their freshness after an extended period of time (candie canes-yes, gingerbread men-oh no, no, no).

I want to start but my husband thinks its way too early! I decorated for Halloween on Sept. 1st, he thought that was too early....usually I decorate the tree the day after Thanksgiving, so maybe I can just start a little earlier this year....a little at a time, maybe he won't notice

I wait until Thanksgiving weekend to put the Christmas decorations up. The Halloween decorations have been put away; I'll put a few Thanksgiving things up now.

I sooo want to put all my decorations out, but I will wait until prob the weekend before Thanksgiving. I have 3 trees to put up and it takes quite a bit of time.

Halloween decorations are up and my Thanksgiving are out.

I started putting up the tree in the Dining room on Sunday. I then remembered that we lost most of the lights on it and it needs new lights. Got to buy them and work on it this weekend.

I also wrapped a few presents on Sunday night. One is for my GF's daughter. They are visiting us in two weeks. I want the house all ready when they come. The other gift I wrapped is for my Secret Santa.

I love going out and looking at the decorations in the store, but wait to put them out until the day after Thanksgiving. Our Thanksgiving decorations are up, except out fake pumpkins. We put those out when the real ones get mushy and thrown away from Halloween.

The anticipation of putting them up is what I love.

I already started listening to Christmas music and I'm so ready to decorate!

I am ready, too! We will wait another couple of weeks before we - or I - actually put up the tree. I normally do it in the middle of November. At week or so before Thanksgiving, so I can enjoy it for a little longer.
