OK so who's biting?

Well it did not end up being a great deal for my January trip. My ap rate at CSR was better so I stayed with that.

Where it really became a deal is for our family summer trip. We always go in June and never get a good discount. We have been booked offsite for a while now, with the deal we are staying at the Poly. 7 nights with 7 day base tickets for 4 people $2805. That is a savings of $1439.04. Now that is a deal as far as I am concerned.

I am already going the first week of Jan., but I can't use the deal because I rented DVC points. I am a bit disappointed that I won't be able to take advantage of the deal, but I just have to keep reminding myself that I got an excellent deal at BWV by renting points. I am hoping for another fabulous deal over the summer for my return trip in August.

I took the deal for part of our April trip. We were going anyway, and wont pull our DD out of school. I was worried I wouldn't find another deal for spring break, so I booked this one. There aren't any AP rates out for April yet -- I really was/am hoping for a straight room-only discount since we like to do split-stays.

I'd say it's a pretty good deal, but with this economy, it's definitely not a great one...

Well I have just made a decision -- I am not making any reservation that requires a ticket purchase! I don't care how great a deal it is...we already have APs, plus about 6 sets of 1-day base tickets because I keep getting sucked into these package deals which really aren't saving me that much money if I have to fork out approx. $300 for 4 tickets that I don't want or need each time I book one. I know I can use them later to apply towards our AP renewal, but do the math...I have close to $2000 worth of tickets sitting in my house right now. That's crazy!!!

I can see where it would not be a deal if you didn't need the tickets. I'm the only one with an Ap in the family and it will expire before my June trip so I'll just upgrade my ticket once we get there.

I don't think that you are stuck with those 1-day tickets. Tickets only become non-transferable after you first use them. It seems like there should be some market or use for those tickets.

We will use them eventually but I really don't need to add anymore to the pile. I am hoping there are some AP rates that come out which will allow us a decent room discount that will be comparable to some of the package deals right now but without a manditory ticket purchase.

Hmmm...got my quote and we would save about $500 and with the $200 gift card, it would be like a $700 savings. And gas prices are going down, and if they stay down, we could save about $300 in driving instread of flying.

But, my boyfriend is still saying no. We had a trip planned in Jan, but decided to cancel to pay off debt (Dave Ramsey's plan, I'm starting to hate it!) I was hoping this would be a good enough deal that he would agree to go, but he's still saying no.

Oh well, there will be other deals... or maybe I can change his mind in the next week.

We fell for it, already planning to go in June, but this made the deal sweeter and saved us $700!!

The biggest part of the problem of these dates is that it is prime school time. They excluded the dates when kids would most likely be out of school. Some people may take their kids out of school in January or February, but that's the time period where they've either just had Winter break or are only a matter of weeks away from Spring break. Taking your kids out of school for 5 days is a hard bullet to bite at that time of year. :confused3

Well for here in the NE there are two weeks that this would work out for. One is President's week in mid-Feb and the other is spring break/Easter break in April. The only problem with those two weeks though is that airfare is through the roof! I was trying to plan for the Feb week but the cheapest airfare I could find was over $200 one way :scared1:

This deal came at a pretty good time for me. I hadn't planned to go but I have been wanting to go with just my DD11 and DM ever since '07. DM will only go in Jan/Feb. DD11 tracks out of school at the end of Jan. for about 3 weeks so, I've booked POR for 2/3-2/10. Considering I get to split the cost with DM and we get the $200 gift card, it's a pretty good deal to me. Now, I'm just trying to figure out if the dining plan is worth it or not. I'm thinking not but DM thinks it is. :confused3

I am going to book tomorrow.:goodvibes I am booking the podcast cruise and 7 nights at WDW. I was going to do the podcast cruise and 3 nights at WDW this is even better. Pay for 4 nights and get 7 nights. :cool1: The cruise is in May so I won't get the $200.00 gift card but that is ok. Tracy is going to email me tomorrow with the cruise info so I can put the deposit down.

That's great aspen37 -- welcome aboard!!!!

Sorry, I must be missing something obvious. I thought that the difference between 4 and 7 day tickets was about $9. Isn't the value of this deal the three extra hotel nights?

I'm thinking the same thing - I must be missing something. It sounds to me like the main value of this deal is 3 extra hotel nights. ???

We priced it out, but as FL residents we have other options...

Our family gets the Play 4 Days Tx ($160/each) and they are good for 6 months from first use (so we don't have to buy no expiration). PLus we got a PIN rate (40% off) for resorts so next year we are staying 4 nights, 4 park days for $1100 at CSR. Yes, we could have done the 4/3 for $1900+...so thats $800 and change more for 3 more nights..however we prefer to do shorter stays, so 4 nights is perfect for us.

AND some FL res room rates are better than the 40% off (got Contemporary for more than 50% off in 2005) so we will just wait and see if they don't sweeten the deal before we go...:rolleyes1
