Sorry if this question has been asked a million times but we are going to be in WDW 9/30-10/13 2007 and figured we would take some time and sit with a coordinator, look into locations etc... should I contact the team now and set something up? Or is it too soon?

We are shooting for a ceremony August 2008

Also, not to sound cheapo or anything but we do not have a finalized head count yet which could make the difference in having an Escape Wedding or Custom, how long do they give you once you set the date to notify guests and see who would be able to attend before charging for the deposit?

Has anyone made a start to finish "planning an Escape Wedding" thread, or timeline for planning etc... that I could be directed to?

I just can't wait for this to get rolling but do not want to get in over my head either! :)

Thanks for the help!

Well, you have kinda a trick question here. The first thing you need to do is get a good guesstamet (however you spell that?) of your guest count. I am not sure how they would handle a situation like yours. I know that you are directed to different people (both Sales Managers and Coordinators) depending on whether you want a Wishes or an Escape wedding. Also, they are different locations for both as well. I don't think it would hurt to call them now, and ask as many questions as you can. Also, tell them that you are going to be down there and try to arrange a visit.

Also, Escape weddings do not get an in-person planning session and they must put their deposit down within 2 weeks of booking. So you can't really book one kind or the other until you know how many people you're inviting. :sad2:

It is possible to switch once you've booked, so theoretically - if you can handle the $1,500 deposit - you could book a Wishes wedding and have a planning session and a tasting session. Then, if you just don't have very many people coming to your wedding, you could switch down to an Escape.

However, they might be a little POed if they thought you were planning an Escape all along and then switched at the last minute just so you could have a planning session....;)
