Ok so the pin event was a Disneyaster, but on the brightside how many of you who attended finally met on-line friends you have never met before?
As I have been pin trading at WDW since 1999 I have met thousands of people and many many of them I am proud to call my friends. I met alot of new friends for the first time at this past weekends Disneyaster pin event.. That made it all worth while..
HOW ABOUT YOU?

Friday was kinda suckie.......but the breakfast was great. I can't understand people who say it wasn't. Nice selection of food and cooked well (since last year we had egg soup). The rest of the event went smoothly after Friday and I for one will be back next year to have a good time with all my pinhead friends. I even saw some more of Disney World.

OK, Barbara, yes, Friday was "kinda suckie", and for my first event it was disheartening; BUT , I agree with you, I think the food was really good!! And I had some of my nearest and dearest sing "Happy Birthday" to me!

The best part was meeting new people and making new friends, as well as having fun with those who live far away and we rarely get to see.

May go again next year, but will have to figure a way to justify it, since I am giving up pins.......:jester:

I see the way you look and feel the pins, it is in your blood. I don't think you will give up pins !

We met a lot of new people that we had never met before but chatted to online. It was great to see old friends too!! All in all I have to say we had a wonderful time at the event. It is so great seeing so many people we know at Disney at the same time.

I have to agree with my wife... It was great to see everyone!!!

Ruthie how are you going to give up pins and create that wonderful pin that we talked about on Monday at Robyn's at the same time?? HUH HUH... HEHE

You know you aren't going to give them up...

I agree, the Friday disaster was terrible, but they did try and make up for it a little on Sat and Sunday.
But as I said a few times at the event,
If Disney took pins and tossed them into a full messy toilet, we would all line up to pay for a chance to fish them out barehanded. And Disney knows that. (Well, being a nurse, I would bring gloves, sorry for the rest of you.)
They designed a pin FIGMENT TRAPPED, where he was supposed to have his head in a bubble of plastic. It came with a few of them broken so what did Disney do? They pulled the bubbles off all of them and sold them to us. And what did we do, we bought all of them!
I often think of giving up my collection because I get so discusted with the crap Disney puts us through, and sometimes the crap that goes on with some of the people who are collectors.
Between the sharks, the horders, and the gossipers I sometimes want to just back out of the whole thing. Collecting was supposed to be a way to meet people and trading was supposed to be fun, not profitable, and the people who trade are supposed to be friendly, not petty high school groups of gossipers, but unfortunately you find both in pin trading.
But if I quit I would not have to opportunities to get together with some of the greatest people in the world and have such great times like I did during this event.
Ruthie, don't give up the pins, we would miss you. Your such fun to be with. Peggie

Aw Ruthie...didn't you like when your dessert started singing to you on Thursday night? You survived despite sitting between Nat and me!

I would go again. But I would stay longer, go on more rides, wear something to attach my sunglasses to my head, and put my hair in a ponytail....
